Don't these LED headlamps cost just like $10 in AliExpress

    • Send me the link please

Sofirn is a reputable name in the flashlight world although it's more budget orientated. The cheapy $10 headlamps won't last a long time.

The cheapy $10 headlamps won't last a long time

Maybe back then. I've been going cheap and it's been working out fine. Hasn't blown up. Also, supposed reputable brands also go boom.

        • +3

What you have to worry about is lithium batteries going boom.
Sofirn lights and their batteries have been rigorously tested by the flashlight community and are as cheap as Id go when it comes to lithium powered lights.

      • i have a cheapy from china. the headband is the thing that will die quick.

the torch itself, easy lasts for a long time if u get a "cheap" quality torch.

        • I had some headlamps where the battery sat at the back and was connected by wires. The wires got loose and started smoking…

  • The battery is 18650mah?🧐🧐

    • +6

18650 is the type of Lithium Battery.

18mm in diameter and 65.0mm length, hence the name 18650

      • +2

The battery should be 3000 mAh

    HS41 is $30.10 each with 10CODE

A bit larger and with 21700 battery but also brighter - I'll test this on my bike

    • +1

The HS21 also has red light, spotlight and floodlight but runs on 18650.
The HS31 only does white light, runs on 21700 (higher capacity) and has a magnetic tail-cap.

    • I've got the HS41. The 21700 torches are great, brighter and last longer. But I prefer the 18650 form factor for headlamps, the 21700s get a bit heavy.

Really love this lamp, tried a different sofirn hoping it would be my last torch, and it wasn't. This one is because you can start on whichever mode you like by twisting (eg Red at night time to not disrupt your night vision, and it remembers the brightness level for each mode making it reallyyyyy handy.

    • do you find the wave function useful?
also can you disconnect the battery completely. e.g. by twisting the base

      • i haven't really used the wave function to be honest, but i'm sure next time i'm under my car or have fish hands it could be handy. But i also feel like i don't mind touching the buttons a little in.

  • Red light is excellent if you need to approach your beehive. And we do in summer - now.
Honeybees attack you when using white light.

    • Or how about don't do beekeeping at night when the hive is full…

  • Never get why these sellers always state the number of lm yet almost always hide the output and running times.
Still searching for that head torch that will do 8hrs+ on 4-500 lm.
