2 colours to choose from, White and Black.

What you guys think?🤔

Thought these are meant to be cheap and cheerful.

    • shouldn't the price be nothing? since its a nothing phone?

    • +7

I heard the founder on Nothing phone is the same man behind Oneplus.
So it is similar pattern, making a cheap phone initialy to beat flagship phone, then getting popular, then raise the price above normal, then getting less popular, founder leaving to create a new brand.

      • +1

Yep, he's one of the co founders of Oneplus. Real shame what happened to them. I had two of those phones and they were super solid for the price. Eventually I went back to Samsung.

        • First OP phone I had was the 1+1 then went to 5T.

Man I miss them, it just isn't the same anymore

          • @patzorz: Yeah I had the original One Plus One and then the 3T. CyanogenMod was so good and clean.

          • @patzorz: i had the +1 it was more than enough for my needs at the time.

Was going to upgrade to another 1+ but it had gone up significantly. Then I started with xiaomi. Now I was considering nothing, but I think I'll be going back to pixel/Samsung

What a joke. $1500 for this, I would buy Samsung s25 Ultra

      • +10

$200 gift card is not the same as $200 cash

      • Still too much lmao

    • What? You mean you don't want a shitty little screen on the back of your phone to tell you information you could have retrieved by just looking at the front of your phone?

      • +11

Once Apple runs out of ideas and copies it people will be calling it genius lol

      • +1

I don’t know what are you talking about. If I want to go crazy on gimmick things, I would buy Chinese phones like oppo find n5 or vivo x5 fold.

  • +13

It will need to compete with s25U at this price point, considering at launch s25U was about 1k, this isn't a winner.

These were supposed to be mid range and under 1k.

    • $1.2k these days. Got one last week s25u 256gb.

      • +2

        Still better than nothing

      • nice, where and how you get it for 1.2K?

        • +1

          The ozbargain way.

$1200 credit for signing up to a $89/month plan. Phone was $1.69k.

          So became $766 + $89 + $490. Works out to be 1345.

Then the staff discounted the phone by $50, thrown in Otterbox case and screen protector for free (which i would pay $80 for anyway). Then got $89 refunded.

So works out to be app $1200, or close to $1100 if you value Otterbox for what they are normally sold for.

Crazy price, just buy an iPhone or a Samsung at this price. Nothing really missed the mark on this phone. 3(a) is still their best product.

    • Honestly I have used 3a as well, but it doesn't do much greater for what it costs. I would say moto edge series is much better for its price. (Using a moto edge 50). The only thing that I don't like in myoto is the occasional camera lag.

      • +3

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 on the 15th of this month for $698; it can blow this Nothing phone out of the water in every aspects.
7 years of UI updates, Samsung DeX, 2 years of premium Samsung warranty, better cameras, especially the selfie, a better screen, premium haptics and Dolby Atmos sound, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, LTPO panel… and the list goes on and on.
Now this is just compared with S24, the price on the nothing phone is in the S25+ and S25 Ultra range, which these phones aren't even comparable with the Nothing phone.

  • How does the camera compare to Pixel 9 pro?

    • Pixel 9 is way better camera. Nothing's software for image processing still has a way to go, even Carl Pei has said it's their weak-point right now.

      • P9p struggles with larger image size

      • Thanks. Camera is the number one criteria for me.

        • S25U.

I went from s23u to p9p. All good except for full size image. (Love the stock OS)

          Back to s25u.

      • Gcam port?

    Nothing to see here

$1509 for a phone with Gorilla Glass 7i, what a highway robbery 💀

    • +2

Edit: Never mind, I just read the description. First time I've ever seen someone shit on their own deal.

      • +3

I posted it because of the $200 gift card; some people who don't care and want to buy the phone can still save some money.

        • +1

Yeah, my bad. I read the description immediately after hitting Post Comment haha.

  • +2

    dreadful value

  • +1

That's a lot of something for nothing.

  • I saw hell lot of votes on the previous model for like $350 not long ago. What happened?

    • +2

They look the "a" out of the model number.

  • Guessing JB might pull off a stunt to offer $1.5k off on a $89 plan.

    • It already did 😅

  • +1

    Nothing Phone (3) 256GB $1509

    chicks for free?

  • +2

just wait 2 weeks and it will be sub 1k

    • I would rather wait and buy s25 ultra for 1K or less than 1K

      • s26u should be around the corner. im actually waiting for that

        • +1

To be honest, I wouldn’t pay more than $500, even then, don’t like the design of nothing.

  • +1

What a joke, imagine telling people check out my nothing phone guys. Better off waiting for the edge 60 pro

  • +2

Who does this market to? Pixels and Galaxys are all cheaper than this.

  • +3

You'll be left with Nothing in your wallet 🤨

  • +1

Still nothing on positive vote as of now. Lol

  • +1

    but why?

  • +1

Flagship phone buy iphone or samsung.

Midrange phone buy moto edge series.

Budget phone buy moto G series.

Theres no reason to buy any other brand.

    • +2

      You're forgetting the Google Pixel.

      • +2

pixel if you want to pay flagship prices for a midrange phone with good camera.

        • +1

Pixel for Graphene. Brax3 phone for privacy and user repair-ability.

  • Expensive for N0thing!! Are they targeting Apple consumers?

    • +2

I assume Carl Pei competing with Samsung and Apple every night in his dreams😅

  • Huh? For a company that was selling themselves on repairable phones they seem to be on a constant release cycle..

Not even a contender. Move along.

    • +1

I think you're confusing Nothing for a different brand, Nothing have never marketed themselves as a repairable phone

      • +1

        Ok. Fairphone perhaps.

  • -1

I guess this is a poorly designed phone.

  • +1

$1500 is WILD when you can get the S25U for $1650: https://www.costco.com.au/Electronics/Mobile-Phones/Samsung-…

Carl Pei is dreaming, this hasn't even established a proper position in the market.

    • +1

S25U for $1504.30 for education/business. Nothing is crazy to set this price ngl.

    • this product will set them back few years

  • +6

No Snapdragon Elite, just Snapdragon (S) series, which is a lower tier and no Gorilla Glass Victus 2 or even 1! Instead, Gorilla Glass 7i which is found on budget phones.
No periscope lens! Just a 2X zoom, even their Nothing Phone 3a Pro has a periscope lens!
    No LTPO panel, just LTPS!
Then how in the world is $1509?
    It's beyond me. 🤯

    • +3

Not trying to be rude but why did you post it?

      • +3

lol telling us a bargain is not a bargain

      • +2

Read the description, I too was confused for a hot minute.

        • +1

That was added after my comment. Check the revisions.

Regardless I suspect it will drop more than $200 pretty fast. Better to wait.

      • Just because some people don't care and they just like the brand, and this way is the only way they can at least get a $200 Give Card to recover a little 😅

      • Did he forget to switch accounts or something lol

  • -2

no value for the huge sum of money, 15W charging? really? I thought they were supposed to beat and compete Google and Samsung, only thing they are competing in is price.

    • 65W wired, 15W wireless (which is standard max speed for Qi2)

but yea that's true OP 13 / Samsung looks much better with this price

  • Somehow, carl pei thinks it's ok to jump straight to the one plus 8 era of pricing after 2 gen.

I wonder if he's trying to flog nothing out to be sold a little faster?

  • Influencer marketing is prob why these are costing more and more.

  • Australia market always be the place where many companies dump their crap products here. Crap products and people still pay good money for it. Chinese EV sell $30,000 in China, In Australia the price jump to $50,000 what a joke

    • +2

dont think they dump it here and jack up the price… blame the Australia tax system for higher price

      • Look at Hisense for example, they sell PX3 pro in USA, UK and other countries but in Australia we can get only PX3 model, why? and they restrict not to sell to other countries. Some TV, USA spec and Australia spec are different. They get better spec in USA. That why i thought many companies do not really care Australia market.

        • Depends. In some cases the 6ghz band is an issue that cuts up the markets from receiving pro models.

Of course in some instances you're right

        • It's because there isn't enough competition outside of China. The smartphone market in China is cut-throat.

If you need an obvious example, the OP13 sells for 60% more outside the country. The Chinese version of phone (better, with 100w charging) is region locked and cannot operate outside China.

  • +4

Just another tech company selling it products at extortionate prices I'm done with them

  • +2

    Yeah nah

  • sumting wong with me eyes

  • +3

    Nothing to see here

    • Thanks for nothing

  • Should be $150 and $168

  • There should be Nothing above $500.
