Cheapest Unlimited Home Land Line Phone

Currently with TPG for NBN and home phone landline bundle mainly for the elderly people in the house that just like using landline still.

I pay $10 per month with Oz talk add on with TPG NBN and I get unlimited national and local calls and to mobile just no international calls.

I am thinking of switching to exetel or another ISP since I finally got NBN fttp available in my area so will be looking into that.

So I need a standalone landline phone with unlimited everything except international calls so I can get off TPG as it is bundled ATM.

What are my options to churn to for unlined standalone home phone landline plans.

Can't they use the local payphone. They're free these days and can accept incoming calls. Just need to share it with the crackheads.

  • What have you found so far?

    • Nothing thus far.

    TIL landlines still exist.

Unsure why you can't just get a chunky large button dumb phone. Or a mobile phone that just looks like a home phone.

  • No VOIP on Exetel anymore.

  • Maybe a Cell2Jack - mobile to landline phone adapter?

Awesome device I totally forgot about this thank you I will consider it if I ever have to get off TPG and can't find another VOIP plan.

Right now I just checked my bank account and apparently I am only paying $5/month for TPG OZ TALK add on since April 2025 so this is nice news didn't notice this until now when I went through my bills and transactions.

$80/month for the TPG NBN I think 100/20 but realistically only about 88/19 but still good enough for our needs.

I think NBN FTTP is minimum $95/month with TPG for the decent plan.

But thanks this Cell2Jack device looks interesting maybe if I get bored I will try one to have fun with.

The only problem I see now is how I can keep the landline number that they use since all their old friends use it.

I don't think there is an answer for that as I assume the Cell2Jack will just use the new mobile attached mobile number erasing the current landline number but still this is a cool device so thank you very much for your help.
