  • RETECH code also works instead of TECHY

    • TECHY and RETECH

Looks like thats the wrong code, please double check and try again

  • Refurb, eBay Plus

    Do they clean them?

    • +1

Yes, but they don't fix them 😂

      • 😲

    • +1

      What does “refurbished” mean?
A refurbished product is one that has been expertly restored and tested by the manufacturer or qualified seller. Products are cleaned, repaired, and reconditioned to 100% functionality and then repackaged with original or new accessories.

      • Bought twice, both faulty. One was XM5 (clicking noise in one cup). Other was XM4, had to explain and get refund lol

  • -1

Not sure if good or bad but can't find a reason to justify buying these when I have better sounding iems

    • +1

Sound is one thing, but what about the other features? IEMs have pretty good noise isolation but the XM5's ANC will still be better. No wires is a plus too.

All depends on use case, if you're only listening to music/podcasts or whatever at home, then buying the XM5s would be a waste of money

      • -3

Yeah i don't need anc, my iems are custom moulded to my ears and just sound too good. Couldn't find a benefit for me personally, other than tv watching without disturbing the kids at bed time. I'm sure they're a great product for others

        • Where did you get them out of interest? What type?

          • +2

@Sven Viking: They are unique melody miracles. I get my replacement cables from audio 64 as UM long since disappeared

They were expensive but I've never felt the need to upgrade. And frankly I was spending $100/yr replacing cheaper headphones due to cable damage, so by now these haven't been any more expensive overall either

I actually posted the deal here lol

It was a nightmare because they stuffed it up so bad, they provided the wrong link and I had to work out it manually by referencing their UK site, but I got them in the end via a waitlist

      • Respectfully disagree. IEMs don't have ANC, but they have really good passive noise cancellation.
The ideal way to wear IEM is with a good seal, with properly fitting ear tips. With normal listening, you won't even hear a running car in front of you

        • Yes I'm aware, though at least for me personally it's pretty difficult to find a perfect seal from an off the shelf IEM; headphones are much more of a one size fits all. Foam tips definitely help, but I'm not spending the money on ear impressions and a custom IEM, and I'd rather not use Etymotics on a bumpy bus ride 😆

    • Depends on what you using them for.

IEMs can sound great, but having things in your ears for too many hours can be too much. Then again, wearing these for too many hours can be too much as well

  • Lots of hinge issues on xm5s

    • Has been an issue since XM1s seems they could never fully resolve them

  • Google WH-1000XM5 hinge issues before you buy! I bought these these a few years ago and were happy with them until the hinge cracked and they are essentially e-waste now

I replaced them with sonos aces and I dont think I would ever go back. The only thing id argue is better on the sonys is the noise cancellation, but these are not a good buy with such a blatent design flaw.

    • No warranty from sony?

      • "All items available to purchase on the Official Sony eBay Store are covered by a full 12 month Sony manufacturer warranty from Sony"

      • You'd have to argue not fit for purpose due to a design fault and claim it's against ACL. If you're up for that difficulty and risk

        • Yep. At least for the first 2 years.

      • As mentioned 2 years, bought them december 2022

  • aaaand they're gone

  • Got mine and yes case is too chunky for travel but fits in this nicely for $7 from kmart
