Seems a good deal for an 6 core AMD. Gaming performance similar to a steam deck.

  • their title is wrong

R5-7430U is 6C/12T - as per pics and desc in the listing

    • That was the Amazon listing title. They advertised it wrong. Still not bad

  • Pretty sure, its been that price several times before..
As above.. almost purchased.. until I googled the CPU to discover its only a 6 core unit..

    • if it was 8 cores, definitely tempting but for 6?
      no ty

  • "Gaming performance similar to a steam deck."

That seems like a bit of a stretch.

    • Sources from video in link at 3:20

    • I wouldn't be surprised. These things can have a higher tdp, where as the steam deck is basically a 15w tdp device. I remember the Vega series are similar in performance when set to higher power draw.

  • Id wait for Prime day price errors.

    • +1

You mean the part where they jack the price up then correct it with coupons?

      • +3

No, the part where they reduce the price and forget to remove the coupon, usually happens at 12.01am.

  • would be perfect if it had hdmi 2.1 not HDMI 2.0b

CPU apparently is a rebadged 5600U = graphics aint that great.

I was actually contemplating getting this originally to replace my parents' ex-corp Dell Optiplex but will now likely get the GMKTec M6 which has a newer CPU and better integrated graphics for currently only $50 more after coupon code is applied.

    • So Vega 7 igpu?

      • 6600H (the one on the GMKTec M6) is Zen3+ so DDR5 support and the integrated graphics is based on RDNA2 (same baseline as the RX6000 series of desktop GPUs).

    • At this stage of the game, people should go for anything zen4 or above - or at least the zen3+ cores with DDR5 support - ddr4 ram will only get more expensive now.

      • Only thing with DDR5 on miniPCs is that the RAM speed is currently capped at 5600M/Ts and they are still expensive v/v DDR4 SODIMMS relatively especially if people want more than 16GB.

  • Price has just gone up to $417 so it appears deal is expired unless it goes down again tomorrow for Prime Day.
