  • Can anyone combine any codes with this? I can only get further $10 off using nab card.

    • maybe wait for the cashback deal

wish it was the 32" version, 27" seems too small for 4k imo.

    • +1

4K on 27" is useful with OLED as it helps to eliminate the text fringing issue.

      • Is text fringing that obvious on 32" 4k OLED?

As someone who recently got one, I would say in day to day use it doesn't bother me most of the time, but if I for some reason do take note of it does bother me a bit at times.

27” 4K is fantastic if you value pixel density like I do.

Copying from the previous deal, as it's good info.
    Tl;dr: Monitor good. Great price.
Some people may not like due to certain limitations, myself included.

As noted by @Matthew xxl on the previous deal:

This has forced DSC (display stream compression), which means no DLDSR and a delay in alt tabbing out of fullscreen as well as reduced colour gradients.
The MSI brand have full bandwidth ports (only supported by 5xxx series cards)
The asus brand, has slightly better HDR, and it has a BFI mode @ 120hz. as well as VRR flicker reduction features.

Dell generally has a great calibration however, so you often get a SRGB mode that looks the least vibrant, yet by far has the best skin tones for colour critical work and movies. Its also good for games once you adjust.

    and by @ThoseDeafMutes:

The difference in price is surprisingly large in Australia. The Alienware is ~40% cheaper than the ASUS here, but in the United States it's only 20% cheaper.

They've saved money in 2 places versus the other vendors:

    Doesn't have DisplayPort 2.1
Only a basic 15w USB-C port instead of a high bandwidth one with KVM functionality

The ASUS (but not the MSI or others) has a unique advantage in that it has a custom extra burn-in protection that you can enable, where it uses a proximity sensor to judge when you've moved away from your PC and turns the display off until you return.

For a 20% discount, the Alienware is still a contender, but for a 40% discount in RRP plus a 10% off coupon code, IMO it's the obvious winner for most people.

Following up here, I'm returning mine to Dell (or at least I'm waiting for support to get back to me and process the return request).

I ran into a showstopper issue where the monitor goes completely blank, and even power cycling it won't get it to come back on. The light says it's on, but nothing shows up on screen - not even the On Screen Display when you hit the menu button. Totally unplugging it for an hour or two revived it for a day, but then it happened again. I saw about 30 people in one thread on reddit with the same issue.

Impossible to say how widespread it is, but fair warning for anyone who buys it that it's a known issue now on the AW2725Q. I had the monitor for ~2-3 months before the issue cropped up, and I'd only used it for about 30 or 40 cumulative hours in that time. Dell is sending out refurbs to replace some people on reddit who had the same issue - unclear if it will recur for them, but I'd rather not take that risk so I'm trying for a refund.

In general, after owning it for a while, I was somewhat unsatisfied with the colours/contrast/accuracy. HDR in the true-black modes (supposedly the most accurate) looked incredibly washed out. My glorious SBS-yellow subtitles in movies looked almost off-white, it was seriously that undersaturated. Image lacked any kind of punch - even in a dark room. Reddit users found that nvidia control panel's digital vibrancy to ~55-57% and upping contrast on the same settings from 50% to 70% helped make it look a lot better, but it's annoying to need to artificially boost all that stuff in windows to get it to where it should be out of the box. And there's no real knowing if you're sacrificing accuracy to make it look not-crap. Before I made the changes, it looked a lot worse than my old LG CX did out of the box with no such messing around.

So while the price looked amazing in that old post, it kinda feels like a bad product for strictly quality control / calibration reasons. I don't have the Asus or Gigabyte versions of this panel to compare to others in an apples:apples way, nor do I have a professional calibration tool to try and get to the bottom of everything else, but especially given the potential ticking time bomb on the AW2725Q I can't recommend this after owning it.

I had the exact same issue! And this happened again with the replacement monitor. I think its just not worth the time and risk.

      • Same thing happened with mine and I returned it

This model has a fan, which can be noisy depending on your brightness and display content

Can I chat online on Dell website to do a price match, and then use the student offer -15% with Cashback plugs?

    • Does the student discount stack?

      • I think so

        • Did you a favour - got denied by Dell

I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but I've received a response from our price match team. The price match isn't valid in this case because the price you found on Amazon is for Prime members, and we don't price match deals that are exclusive to membership programs. where it says This deal is exclusively for Amazon Prime members.

Fantastic monitor. Using it for programming, dark mode looks incredible.

  • I find 4K on a 27" screen too high a res for general use.

Paid $923 (+80 Dell rewards) for the 34" model on the 30th of June.
    Alienware 34 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3425DW

    • How did you get it for $923? The cheapest ive found is $954 with the student discount in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911583

      • Work discount that stacked with a student discount I found, then joined their program for the reward $, which they credited to my account on the day of sale.

Additionall, anyone buying an OLED for desktop use should make changes to their Windows config, to minimise burn-in damage (hide taskbar, Dark reader browser extension, use app such as Wallpaper Engine to set/use animated background, etc.)

  • Got the newest 27” Qhd version. Fantastic monitor.

Wish it had more usb ports as currently its just none (except for around the bezel which is pointless for stationary cables)
