looks similar to the Philips 7000 design.

    • I was looking at the 7000 but the reviews across various websites are much more hit and miss compared to the Arendo.

  • It was $84.76 back in May. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/906072

  • I need a kettle that shows the temperature rising in the display by each degree. Does this kettle do that or just several preset temps but no "progress" temperate on the display?

Any other kettles you guys can suggest?

  • @bboz I have the cuckoo that does this. Shows every degree as it boils up or cools down. Preset temps are adjustable via 5 degrees. It’s AU stock and plug too.

Be aware the above kettle being Germany stock, you will need a bulky converter connected to it.

    • Hi, the Cuckoo doesn't have any teflon coating or anything like that on the base does it? I was going to buy an Xiaomi model 4 or 5 months ago, but I was told by another member here that owned it, it had a teflon coating on the base (no idea why), otherwise, it was also fully stainless steel.

      • It’s full stainless steel 304 inside. No plastic contact with water.

        • Alright, thanks. Does it ever go on discount, or is $159 pretty much as good as it'll get price wise?

Also, how is yours holding up? Have you had it for a while now?

@Ice009: Theres extra 10 discount on that seller just apply voucher on that page. Bought mine for 150ish from cuckoo official ebay store a few months ago so quite similar pricing. It works well, coming from a delonghi icona it does feel plasticy, the base and outside are plastic but I guess it keeps it lightweight too. But functions are good and simple and nice to see the current temp on the display, as long as it is plugged in. So if theres no need to reheat, I don't have to run it if I'm happy with the current temp read.

Also, no plastic window, no issues with the push to open lid and (kitchenaid has this issue) wide enough opening. Also, comfortable to hold.

It’s something you'd use multiple times a day and that justified the price for me.

  • How about the steel one for $24 from Kmart? Isn’t it effectively the same (steel on the inside)?

    • I assume it has a plastic window?

      • Yeah you’re right it does - ok

        • I've always had stainless steel ones with the plastic windows. Some advertise they are BPA free, but still don't trust that. I've been looking for one that is fully stainless steel inside like this one or maybe a glass/stainless steel combination.

I was going to be an Xiaomi temperature controlled one similar to that that is stainless steel inside, but another member told me his one had some sort of Teflon coating on the bottom which I have no idea why they put that in. Completely defeats the purpose of it.

I bought Kogan insulated kettle when it was $30 and it exceeds my expectation for the price I paid and the feature it has. Just need to see how long it lasts.
