Not in my experience. You need the V8 Absolute so you get the fluffy head (Soft Roller Cleaner Head)

I have an old Dreame V9 handheld vacuum that still works fine but the battery only lasts 5min. New battery is about $40, should I buy a new battery or the Dyson?

Can anyone confirm if this works for both hard floors and carpets?
I have lino in a few spots but primarily carpet, mix of thin carpet and thick.
Also have a dog and kid, I'm currently using a $40 Kmart one that I hate.

Well dyson website says it does both but not sure in practice. Higher model gen5 has separate heads.

Dyson V8, works fine for me and I have long haired shepherd, hard floor and carpet, much better than a Dyson V6. Two suction setting so you can adjust, dropped some small pasta risoni on hard floor and V6 kept missing after many passes, got the V8 and picked up everything with no effort.
Haha I also have a long haired shepherd. Couldn’t live without the Dyson. Insane how much fur accumulates so quickly.
Also seconding that it works fine on hard floors.

my dyson v10 appears dead for whatever reason. (fully charged, indicators still work, but nothing heppened when pressing down the trigger. anyone knows what the issue could be?) may get this v8 if i cant revive my dear v10…
Broken trigger mechanism is a common problem on V10 and V11 models. Contact Dyson they may be able to ship you a replacement body

Yep happened to me and I almost accidently paid full price. Unfortunately had to settle for $329 price match at dyson which had just accepted price match before it went up.

These are good for a quick clean on wooden or tiles floors, but the head is a bitch to clean. Due to to the rotating action, hairs and fur balls get spun onto the head roller, so you have pull them off manually….not fun!

Purchased one from Modbury SA at 3:37pm. Only store in the area that had one in stock. I called up prior and asked about stock, once they confirmed stock I asked about price matching to Amazon’s sale, and they came back and said they could match it to their price of $326. Not sure where they got this number from but the two stores prior also quoted the same price but did not have any in stock. Paired it with the $30 off and got it for $296!

replaced my dyson with an amazon clone.. $180.. looks like its $150 now. Had it one year. no issues. Pulls harder, lasts a legit 40 mins (double my Dyson). This is the reason Dyson has relaxed their prices.. market has caught up.
