Was looking for a new hard drive for a NVR.
Found these 8TB Purple Pro drives that cost similar to regular Purple.
Delivery to VIC was $14.
Please note: Surcharges: 0% direct deposit, 0.9% card, 1% on all other payments.

if you mean "not shuckable" to mean what I think it means : ie "can't be removed from the container to use in something else", then I think you are right - IF and ONLY IF you mean "as it arrives from the seller". They will not be in any container (except the packaging for transport …..) and once you put them in something you can yourself remove them from that.
Or have I missed something?
Being an internal HDD without an external enclosure implies it's not shuckable. Is having an external enclosure that you have to remove to use it an NVR a positive quality for an internal hard drive? Please elaborate on the economy. I must be out of PC game for far too long.
That user is a troll, just makes comments for attention lol
fwiw I bought a server pulled 12tb purple from alixpress for $224aud. Works fine so far and was extremely well packaged
Got a link?
sold by World3c-Digital store. Cant post the link
thanks :)
Reports from that seller have cleared/falsified SMART data. I'd steer clear.
Good to know, I just wasn't in a position to gamble and wanted to buy from within Australia for warranty reasons, hoping for speedy delivery.
Did you also compare against east digital?
Seagate skyhawk drive
Please keep in mind it is a surveillance HDD, its firmware will prioritise writing data over reading data. Not really that good for a NAS or a PC.
Depending on your intended use for the HDD. The Purple drive designed and optimised for constant write inside surveillance stations/NVR. The one you linked is ordinary hdd which is perfected for regular storage /use inside your PC for game storage etc. However for everyday storage I would aim at a better deals with price per tb being $25 or less.
Another thing to keep in mind is recording technology. Convention thought is CMR drives are prefered instead of SMR. Not sure the tech in the one you posted, but you should be able to check that by googling the model number.
