If you've bought something from Good Guys in the past, check your email - they just sent out a 15% off code which makes the be65's approx $540

      • Didn't that expire last night?

Not sure if I have to buy anything but good to know.

      • Thanks ill have a look
Is it a generic code by any chance?

        • No. Well at least that what it says in the email. "… issuing you a new unique code".

          • @dreamykitten: Nope no email
Ill take it off your hands if you not gonna use it?

    • Not apply to 3. gift cards

      Would it count?

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase for $60 AZ Giftcard

    • same

    • +8

Gift card hack is not using it to buy a gift card, it is using a gift card to pay in conjunction with at least 1c PayTo

  • Ohh ffs I just spent $150 and the other code wasn’t working

    • +2

      Cancel order.

    • +2

      cancel and rebuy?

  • Thanks for this, perfect timing for the things I forgot to buy on the first Prime Days :)

Just tested and it works with gift cards so long as there is some cash balance attributed to PayTo.

    • +1

yeh and if the discount is more than the PayTo amount it still works

I just got the 5% off with $0.00 on PayTo

      • Same, set max payto agreement to low value and discount applied and full discounted amount charged to gift cards.

  • So is PayTo like PayID but for websites/online shopping?

      https://www.google.com/search?q=payto

PayTo® is a modern digital payment solution offering a fast, easy and secure way to pay. It gives consumers more visibility and control over their payments, and …

PayTo is a new payment option that's fast, simple and secure. Manage all of the payments coming out of your bank account

      2 clicks away:

PayTo is an easy way to authorise and control payments from your bank account. PayTo can be used in several ways. A couple of examples are; a digital alternative to direct debit, and allowing you to pay directly from your bank account where you previously needed a card (like for in-app purchases and online shopping).

  • Didn't work for my order (Garmin watch): "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

Tried with/without existing Amazon credit. Also tried from Amazon AU and UK. PayTo was authorised and selected as the payment method.

Edit: just read the T&C from the other post. Doesn't apply to items from Amazon UK.

Worked for my order of $900. Only $2 paid with PayTo, rest with GC

  • Multiple orders permitted?

    • Sadly not as I just discovered :(

  • seems can only be used once

  • +2

worked for me with giftcards + $6 via PayTo. But only once. For the next order, it said - not applicable.

  • have an order >1000….. added a gift card to bring balance below $1000 and it says it can't be applied

    • check with chat support?

    • Doesn’t matter. Max order before GC is $1000

  • buying something for $799 and saying transaction limit exceeded? What is the transaction limit? figured out that I set the transaction limit lol

  • Can’t split payment. Only lets me use either goft card balance or other singular methods of payment.

    • i was able to split

      • Maybe since my gift card balance is higher than the order?

        • Try setting your default payment to PayTo, so that it's auto selected along with gift card balance during checkout - https://www.amazon.com.au/cpe/yourpayments/settings/manageon…

        • +6

Yes. Order something prime that is going to be shipped later to get your balance tad under.
The place your order that will allow this to happen.
After the 2nd order (the one you intended), cancel the first order and get the gift balance back.

E.g. you wanna buy something for $200 and your balance is $201, then order like a Lindt chocolate in 1 order and then it will let you place the next order with PROMO and gift card balance. Then cancel the first order and get balance back.
Or you can just add another product in the same order to go over and then cancel that 1 product you added extra.
I did the 1st strategy but 2nd should work too but just unsure how they will attribute the discount of the promo.

Took a lot of trial and error but this worked for me:
      1. set default payment to payto
      2. add qualifying item to cart, over $60
      3. go to checkout and select change payment method
      4. add coupon code PAYTOPD, select use promotional balance
      5. confirm payment with payto and go to final order confirmation screen
      6. confirm that order summary shows promotional balance discount
      7. go back to cart, and delete the item.
      8. Close and reopen Amazon tab and now shop as usual.
      9. This time when you checkout, it should show using payto as payment, promotional balance of 5% discount automatically applied, and full balance paid with gift card balance, assuming you have enough.

So basically it remembered and automatically applied PAYTOPD coupon because payto was default payment and used gift card balance first instead of default payment method as it always does. Ended up $0 to payto and still got discount.

Can't say it was worth the effort but isn't it the ozbargain way to spend an hour to save $16 just to stick it to the man?

      • Glad it worked for you.

For anyone who hasn't used the code yet, you should be able to apply the code to your account by clicking redeem on an item page (Not sure if it needs to $60 or over).

        • Is it a one shot code?

          • @Whiplash: It's in the terms and conditions: Each eligible Amazon customer can only claim this Offer once.

      • +1

I can't even find a place anymore to change your default payment option. Within the edit card details there used to be a tickbox, but its not there anymore.

  • +3

i think this only works once

  • does payto has effect to credit rating? im confuse

    • It should not as you're using your bank account not a pay later or credit service.
But maybe check with your bank :/

    • no

  • Can anyone confirm that using this payment method we can still claim normal cashback?
    It says on TopCashback:
    - Cashback is ineligible if using any codes entered manually in the 'Promo Code' field.
I don't think we need to manually add the code but it is a Promo Code nevertheless.

    • +1

Orders using promotional credit and/or codes seem to track, whether they're confirmed is a different matter. Personally I haven't had any issues with using promotional credit, the cashback amount is calculated on spend after the credit is applied. You have no recourse if the cashback is declined though.

      • Thinking about it you are right they will track but I don't think they'll be confirmed.
And it will take months to know for sure.

  • Couldn't get this to add. No authorisation was sent to my card for me to confirm. Tried two different accounts

    • i could. few secs ago. used payid phone number that already linked to my ing orange saving a/c

  • we can remove the authorisation anytime, right?
edit. just remove the payment method on amazon it will give you warning that it will cancel the autho, but not cancel any open purchase.
so i added, bought something, get the discount, and then removed

  • -1

so thebmax discount is $50? as the max payto amount is $1000. saybI want to buy a $2000 item can I buy $1999 gift card and use payto to get $100 off?

  • -1

    Is payto discount still working
    Not working for me now

    • It's meant to be for eligible items. Basically, if you see it under the promo section of the item page, then it should be eligible. I haven't seen any items with the promo again though, so maybe it's no longer an option for me.

  • +1

I've used this twice on two separate orders and still have not paid a cent using PayTo (all paid via gift card balance). This is how I did it:

    1. Change payment method.
    2. Enter the PAYTOPD code and click Apply (don't worry if it gives you an error).
    3. Click PayTo as the method and select Use This Payment Method.
    4. Change payment method back to Gift card, and there should be a Discount balance under Your Available Balance* (which should be the 5% off your eligible order) - note this might give you an error, in which case select **PayTo again and then repeat from Step 3 until you can successfully change payment method to Gift card and process the order - but don't forget to click the box with the discount.
    • Don't know how you're doing this, for me the PayTo option is greyed out, and says that it isn't available for this order :(

      • Same and got negged for asking if its still working.
I cant apply code to any order

      • I did it on a computer. It glitches the payment, but eventually works. Also it's only available for eligible items.

        • I bought the be65 router prior with payto now its not working

  • +1

If someone still struggling to combine payto with giftcards

    • Setup max payto to low value (say $2). You can delete agreement and resetup if you set it to higher before.
    • Set Default payment to PayTo
    • Go to item you want to buy, ensure it has the payto offer, click redeem.
    • checkout. Amazon will not find enough credit with PayTo and it will use giftcard instead.
    • For some reasons had issue via mobile, but this worked on my desktop

  • +2

I believe Amazon has retracted this coupon now, as it isn't showing up anymore

    • omg lucky i used it yesterday i was hoping can use again

  • I got a notification

Amazon AU has cancelled your payment agreement. They will no longer be able to debit your account.

    I had a $2 Payto as per https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16724087/redir
I only managed one order, paid with gift cards in the end
