    Great deal, thanks OP!

  • A decent single malt at this price point. I normally buy them between $70 to $75 a bottle. Thanks OP, bought a couple.

  • Good find.

Some of the other 2 for X deals are alright. Eg those wanting some cheap mixer, 2x1L Johnnie Walker comes to $106.

    FWIW, I highly recommend this.

Awesome smoky peaty whiskey, single malt. Comes down to $52.70 with this deal.

    • Thanks for the reco - peat-preferences-aside, which is better, this or Sea Cask? https://www.coles.com.au/product/aerstone-sea-cask-10yo-sing…

I'm no expert. But definitely preferred this Land Cask over the Sea Cask, but of course it is fairly smoky which is what I and my better half prefer, most of the time. I think it actually compares quite well to the Laphroaigs, Lagavulins and Ardbegs, and it's a brilliant price. Everyone I've shared it with loves it. Worth a try for sure if smokey is your thing!

        • Thanks, may try to sneak this one into the stash. I'm no expert either, but found JW Double Black a cheaper smokey-hit, when special-stacking (not currently on special here though)

          • @Cheapkiwi: I think this is quite a bit more smokey than even the JW Double, which I have purchased often too. But it has a subtle sweetness, at the end. I'm sure the Aerstone isn't one for the folks with a super educated palate, and who know exactly what they are looking for, but I don't care about that. Whenever I take a sip of this, I feel like I'm giving myself a little treat, which is all that matters. Grab one and report back, be interested to know what you think about this vs the JW Double. This is single malt too, so I tell myself I am at least a tiny bit fancy. :)
Defs worth it at $52 buckers.

    • Yeah, this one is poor man's Lagavulin 16 yr

    • This is only for peat pros. If someone doesn't know or hasn't tried a heavily peated/smoky whisky then they should steer clear of this. I personally avoid peaty whiskies which is why when I tried this, I felt like my senses could only detect smell of ash, smoke & char. I even tried mixing it with cola but that smelt like Dettol. Took a long time for the overpowering smoky flavour & smell to subside.

    • How smokey does this compare to Laphroaig?

      • +2

Again, no expert, but I'd say fractionally less than a Laphroaig, but it's not far away.

  • Shoot, such a good price that I missed …..

    Still working.

  • Scottish input on the OP's comment "entry level whiskey" and several others who wrote whiskey. That's the Irish/American word for a different drink. This is whisky, always written without the e, from Scotland. A point of national identity and an error whisky lovers never make.

Thanks OP, missed on the above but you can still get 2 for $135. SAVE15 works, $15 off $125 spend until Sunday. Cheers.
