Ozito Brushless Lawn Mower - Which One Is Better (300mm vs 330mm)

300mm one is $229, 330mm one is $199. Is the more expensive one actually better?

I guess it depends on your lawn, I’d recommend neither and get something with a wider cutting deck. Also, 36v (18v x 2) will have more power than an 18v mower. The extra power is handy if you’ve let the grass grow, or if it’s a little damp.

I have an older version of this mower and it’s been good.

Don't waste your time on anything 18V.

For lawn mowing, overpowered is much better than underpowered.

    36V+ only pls

I used to think Ozito was the Rolls Royce of tools and still blamed myself when my third Ozito mower died.

Anyway, I bought an Ego mower. 10x better.

    • Can you tell me why? What about the Ego makes it better? I love my Ozito steel deck but interested in your experience with Ego.

I think the Ozito was fine for a very small yard.

The Ego build, battery life and overall package is better. Everything is more solid. The downside was the price. I wanted a mower that would last years and just work.

I "think" the Ego will do it without it falling apart.

Seriously? Ozito is far form the Rolls Royce of Tools. Its like the Toyota/Ford/Holden of Tools. Rolls Royce of tools would be something like AEG/Milwaukee/Makita.

I am a big fan of Ozito, but know there is better stuff out there. I just cannot justify the price of other brands for what I do.

Ego is 5x the price too :)
So of course it's gonna be much better. But not everyone needs the top of the line.
The early 18v Ozito mowers were toys, but I feel like the 36v range are getting better with each iteration.

  • I've got the 36V brushless. Very happy with it. Only cutting a small lawn but pleased with end result and ample power dealing with buffalo hybrid grass.

I originally had the 18v on a very small lawn. I moved somewhere with a medium-sized lawn and bought the 36v 380mm, and couldn't believe the difference. The wider cutting path made mowing so much faster, and the added power was remarkable. I wouldn't DREAM of going back to the smaller size…

Then I moved somewhere with a medium/large-sized lawn and bought the 36v steel deck 460mm, and again couldn't believe the difference. The wider cutting path made mowing so much faster, and the added power (variable power to meet the demand of thicker grass etc) was remarkable. I again wouldn't DREAM of going back to the smaller size.

Had the 300mm and perfectly adequate to mow 100m2 of grass. It was light so it was easy to move around but they made it as crappy as they could without changing its functionality. You have to flip it to change heights and the handle height not great and generally feels like a toy.

I would go for the 330mm just for the proper height adjust.

  • For equivalent specs on paper, would Ryobi or Ozito be the generally-preferred option?

just go with whatever battery system you're in already (most people start with a drill for either brand)
Ozito is generally cheaper (quality around on par)

As long as you go 36V (18V just isnt up to snuff unless you're doing under 20sqm) - (both Ozito and Ryobi do 2x 18V = 36V battery mowers FYI)
