  • Thanks OP! Got it 774 delivered inckusive of $8 delivery.

  • I think all the spare codes from members have dried up :( I am next in the line on the thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/914537

      • :(

I got a code this morning, yey!

  • Any real life comparisons of this and dreame v11? Material upgrade?

    • I heard the big wheel on one of the main floor attachments tends to be a weak point/design flaw, people saying could be from it hitting ground or rubbish buildup in the attachment. Apparently this problem affects v11 and up

      • +1

It’s called the V-wheel. Mine broke even with careful use. Dyson sent a new one but I reckon this will fail soon too.
Still a great cleaner for floors.

      • +1

yep, the motorhead wheel broke on mine 1 month out of warranty. Dyson sent me an entire new vacuum with a new 2 year warranty. I can't complain about the customer service because that's amazing but the wheel is a design flaw and it hasn't been updated in the new unit I got. it's held in using small screws which can't take much impact and breaks the bearing.

everything else about this unit is great though and not having a trigger to hold down like the v15 is really nice.

I've seen a few posts in the past about new warranty, but I have never believed it. What did they do to make you think your 2 year warranty is renewed. Did they explicitly say that, or was just the 2 year warranty card in the box?

Great service if they did explicitly say here you go, have another 2 year warranty.

          • +2

@megaclix: They literally said so in the email to ship the new unit to me that it would be provided with a new 2 year warranty. They automatically registered the new unit and I can see it has a warranty until 2027 now.

  • Even cheaper than the previous eBay deal.

  • The home only has tiled and vinyl floors. No carpets and no pets.
Would this still be worth getting over the V8 in the long run?

    • +1

We have parquet, tiles and carpets; no pets.
We are very happy we bought it for about $720 after cashback

I bought this in last Black Friday.
We love it! Works very well! Well designed by Dyson :)

  • Anyone had any luck getting TGG to just price match their own coupon?

    • Tried via chat, the best the could do was $824

Tried to stack with ER GCs - but no stock at my local woolies. Just be careful with these. Only "Gift" cards are eligible in $100 denominations, and only 3x cards accepted online.

Instead, bought with CR 3.5% GCs, and stacked with $20 cashback from targeted Yello Deal. Thanks OP for posting, and ozbargain community for sharing a code.

    About $720 delivered. Very happy.

  • Not fit for purpose e waste.

Get a drill battery converter and use a 3Ah minimum battery

    https://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/dyson-v7-trigger-cordl…

    • Completely different unit to a V7, no comparison between the two

      • And would need to be a 40V "drill battery" …….

Everything on Reddit (and my experience) is build quality and design peaked at the V8 (which is Similar to the V7). We have a V6, 7,8 10, 11, 15 (all hard rubbish throw outs due to cyclone clogging or battery packs unbalanced). I asked my partner which one to keep. She said the V8. I 100% agreed.

But they ALL have the same issue. They are drawing too much current from a single row of cells. Cell packs should be a balanced 7s2p minimum (6s2p on the older models). This thing is 10 cells, but still single row. They are heading in the wrong direction. Should have been a 2s5p. The motors should be getting more efficient, not less.
Put it on max suction and see how long it lasts with the current draw on a single cell.
Don't take my word for it. Hit up reddit and GitHub.

  • Is it good for cleaning car as well ?

    • Yeah the magic wand is handy

      • Thanks. Specifications showing it heavier than majority of other models like V8, v10

        • Less than 5 KG weight. Just imagine it as your weight excercise

        • Yeah, wrong shape weight for one hand operation for the average person. 10 cell battery pack lateral is just stupid. I'm fine with it, my partner wanted none of it.

  • It chews through the battery though, But very happy with how clean the floors are. Hopefully some cheaper aftermarket batteries come along.

    • thankfully it is hot swappable

  • How long does the battery last ?

On max setting after a year…maybe a few seconds. Low setting will go for a few minutes..but it just sprinkles stuff around. There isn't sufficient suction on the low setting. Don't bother.
But as I said above on the high setting, there is too much current draw for a single row of cells. They get out of balance and the BMS shuts it off.

Dyson isn't fit for purpose. Great marketing..never loses suction ever…which couldn't be furthest from the truth.

  • Get 4 Dreame ones for that price…..

  • Anyone else order stuck on "Preparing order"?
