I've always needed one of these. This looks fairly priced.

might come in a 650 x 450 x 20 box though
Or, just wrapped in some foam and sticky tape like my shovel
I'll order some tissues if I need a big box.
This "cant be shipped to the address" business is getting old.
Seems Tasmania is out of luck for anything bigger than maybe A3 size.Maybe Amazon can help you by folding it in half before shipping
Or as two 45 degree angles instead of a bigger 90.
It's pathetic. Pay for amazon prime and they won't deliver.
It seems like only Amazon AU mostly. Find the item on any other international Amazon site and it's free shipping….go figureYeah, pisses me off too. I complained to Amazon support and they told me to use an Amazon locker instead. Nearest one to me is an hour's drive!
Same here - Amazon just say "none near you" but LockerMap says there's one just 217km away.
Yay.
Has this been in the last 2 or 3 months for you? I think they use AusPost exclusively now (in Vic regional, at least). It used to be if you bought a fair amount of stuff it would be delifvered by courier.
Don't recall exactly when the delivery restrictions kicked in.
Some time since October '24, when I last ordered a large item.
Had a 28" hookaroon delivered OK but if I try to order it again now I get the familiar "can't be delivered" message.
partially might come down to where couriers live and amazon has depots, for some couriers the distance isn’t worth it based on what amazon pays, bit like expecting hungry panda or door dash to be everywhere, only so many kilometers people are willing to peddle or drive based on what they get paid per delivery. Amazon australia have worked out where and what size packages are cost effective to deliver using couriers and australia post and where some things aren’t. International probably haven’t done the costs until at least one unit hits the remote areas and systems has worked out how much it cost to deliver.
Wasn't there some poster on this forum who used to order huge but low value single items to be shipped into the middle of whoop whoop?
And then jokingly post "sorry for wrecking it for everyone else lol" when Amazon finally caught on to it costing the company vast amounts on delivery fees?
@rumblytangara: Sounds like Amazon was contributing income to regional and remote small businesses. I have no qualms shaking the loose change from a billion dollar company!
@Switchblade88: I don't have problems with it either, same way that things like rural telco services are subsidized.
But at least some people were enjoying taking the piss so no surprise that it got canned cause unlike a utiliy company they have no obligation to serve the entire landmass of Australia at a set rate.
I guess it was just too good to last.
yep TOLL contract ended and so did deliveries. Toll did damage half the parcels though.
Amazon shipped a product to me yesterday via Toll (SA).
These spear & jackson listings appear to be coming from the company directly, not an amazon warehouse, thus the different shipping terms and timeframes. Whatever courier they are using won't ship to some areas.
Edit: Looks it is Couriers Please, which would make sense as there is no CP in TAS and CP don't deliver to a lot of areas outside of Metro.
How’s the quality of this brand? Was thinking about grabbing a new shovel and other garden tools too
Seems to be now owned by Hong Kong based SNH Global Holdings.
They were excellent tools years ago when made in Sheffield, but who knows what Chinese factory they're made at now; if the current owners still care about the S & J reputation they should be quite good.Although saying that, the square does look a bit wonky in the last Amazon photo!

Trying to figure how how a carpenters square fits into the whole gardening idea…
Eg hand saw, and ergo shovel look alright
Was hoping to hear that you make sure that all your trees grow at exact right angles.
Lots of other variants on Ali for 1/2 the price on Amazon if you need more. Good quality too but not sure of the validation.
It is not square. Its square right?
Yeah we men all could of needed one. But I went with the alternative, saved my kent square set from graphics class. Wow mine are orange yellow, not UV stabilized. oxidized over the years to yellow - orange tinged.
https://www.spotlightstores.com/art-craft/stationery-school-…The honey bees don't really care if the hives are freaking square, but we check they are anyway. They fill with propolis, like we do with putty or gap filler.
The yellowing I call it character or patina. If you pass it down it's called vintage.
Bought one. Hope it’s not as badly inaccurate as the 3rd photo!
Surely that's an image problem - but even then, how do you stuff up the image that much.
Thanks, got one. I already had one from a different brand. Having two lets me wonder about which one is actually the correct one.
got one, pity it’s not stainless steel.
I'd expect it to be aluminum? Steel is heavy and floppy- my 50cm steel ruler is very flexible. Not something you'd want in a large carpenters square.
Carbon steel

I feel like I should buy this just to get it delivered in big box. I need a big box.
