  • Nope and nope

  • Where are the bad personal experiences of these on OB?

  • They are very good

Insane comment, "there is reports of this thing catching fire, but worth if I can save $10 or so" 💀

Zyron rep claims each and every Zyron charger is certified:

each and every Zyron charger is listed in EESS register and has complete certification. The products that need AS6238.1 testing, are specifically done from CNAS approved lab.

That indicates either one of two things:

      1. Australian safety and certification standards don't mean jack shit and will not guarantee safety and reliability.

      OR

      1. Test results have been cherry picked or manipulated in some way to obtain those certifications.

Certainly doesn't instill confidence in me as a customer.

Safety and certification authorities aren't going to test every single unit that comes out of a factory. I don't know that they'd even test any samples or just rely on the manufacturer's word.
Even if they did test samples, you'd need to trust the manufacturer is using the same parts and processes in production as they did for making samples.
I don't understand the reasoning to save a few $$ when you're risking frying a $$$$ phone or laptop

for 2., you're referring to "Golden sample" testing.

Commonly done, and difficult for government bodies to prevent (and less worthwhile on low value goods like chargers)

    • There’s an increasingly blurry line on here between ozbargain and ozcheapskate

The dimensions of this this design appears longer than similar chargers.
Would this allow better separation of high-voltage AC from low-voltage DC?
