Local councils will be required to provide all NSW households who receive a residual (red lid) waste collection service with a Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) waste service by 1 July 2030.
In practice that usually means a little bin with organic bags that you place in your bin.
My council has been giving out FOGO caddies on request for years as long as you got a green waste bin - in VIC at no cost, delivered to your doorstep. You might want to call your council to find out if they have a similar initiative.
Get a free one when your council starts FOGO….
