  • I am with Origin's embedded network and $75 has already been applied towards our most recent bill in 2025-2026

    • Yes Origin, WinConnect and Momentum all get theirs applied automatically

    • How does it work? It says: a one-off payment of $150

  • "Based on the information provided, you are not eligible to apply for the Energy Bill Relief program through this application. Your embedded network retailer is expected to provide the Energy Bill Relief payment through your electricity bills, please contact your retailer for more information."

Got this when I uploaded my bill. I'm with Origin on embedded. Not sure if I got the $75, will need to check. But possible that I got it and this is to prevent double dipping.

    • Same :(

      • Nothing to be sad about, it will directly be credited to your bill

    • Check your bill. We got ours in this month's electricity bill.

    • With Origin on embedded too, the $75 credit was automatically used to offset our bill this month.

This deal is really just an FYI for people on other embedded network.

  • Is this the $75 electricity credit u get each qtr?

    • It started on the 1st of July and Origin, WinConnect and Momentum Users get theirs applied automatically so if you've gotten a bill recently its somewhat likely. Can still apply like @starbearer did and it will tell you.

Would be better if the Vic Govt paid for meter replacements to bring embedded network sites onto the electricity market…

Claimed, thank you. Apparently only method available for me is a cheque reimbursement though.

  • My account with Red Energy is showing $75 in credit in my next bill. Is this the one?
Mine is just a normal household. I don't understand what embeded network is!

      Found this about embeded networks:

      https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/embedded-networks

      What is an embedded network?
An embedded network is a private electricity network that is operated by a single entity, such as a property owner or an external network manager. The party is known as an embedded network operator.

The network is used to supply energy to multiple customers within a specific location or development, such as an apartment building, caravan park or retirement village.

To supply the energy, the owner or operator of the network purchases electricity from a licensed energy retailer or wholesaler. They then on-sell that electricity to residents of individual properties within the network, e.g. an apartment complex.

How can I find out if I live in an embedded network?
If you live in a retirement village, caravan park or some apartment buildings, it is likely that you receive your electricity through an embedded network. Use the following steps to determine whether your property is in an embedded network:

Check your electricity bill or invoice. If you can see a National Metering Identifier (NMI) on your bill, you are unlikely to live in an embedded network.

Speak to the body corporation or property manager and ask if your property is part of an embedded network for your electricity supply.

You can visit the Essential Services Commission public register to check whether you are in an embedded network. Please note that some embedded networks are not included in the list.

Maybe the government should dump this net zero insanity and provide real solutions instead

    • -7

Good to see that someone gets it.

The insane net zero policy which even if reached achieves no tangible real world benefit (go on, show me the ACTUAL science if you believe in this smoke and mirrors show, I dare you. And no, repeating 'tRuSt ThE sCiEnCe!?! over and over is not ACTUAL SCIENCE in case you are unaware).

The government implemented policies based on fairy tales which reduced energy supply, thus driving up energy prices. (Cost-push)
Now to try fix the high prices that THEY created, they are spending more of your money pretending it's helping you, which will in turn will simply cause prices to rise again (Demand-pull).
All this scam is doing is creating more inflation.

We're now 50 years in to having only 10 years to save the earth… and all it has achieved is to drive up the cost of living… Truly progressive logic in action.

The crazy thing is we sell our clean coal to China, who then uses it to manufacture solar panels etc which they then sell back to Australia.

Therefore Australian coal helps power China's clean-energy exports, which then flow back to Australia 🤡

        • -1

Just don't tell the hippies how the mining, shipping, and manufacturing all work. Knowing how things actually work is not a burden they carry…

  • I’m with energy Australia, it says my account has $75 credit. Is that part of this deal (meaning I’ll get a second $75 credit later) or can I apply for the $150 rebate as well?

    • The last round ended on the 31st of May, so if you claimed before (or automatically got it) then it may be that round or this one, you can just apply now on the website and it should tell you if you are eligible.

Worst case scenario you DON'T get it because you didn't apply.

Some users have reported that they also got $75 credit, with a presumption being the other $75 is on the next bill.

  • How do I know if I have embedded network. It's apartment and I am with Alinta. Gets my own bill every month.

If you have a National Metering Identifier (NMI) in your bill you are NOT in an embedded network. Can check HERE if your address is also on there. Also it may work that you put your bill in the website and it will tell you.
