Hey WatchNerd, Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately the costs of doing business is rising and we're still working to be the most cost effective provider.

Great question. The post was temporarily removed a few days ago due to a technical issue on our website that impacted checkout — we didn’t think it was fair for OzBargainers to engage with a broken deal, so we pulled it. Once it was fixed we reposted. I even checked with moderators to make sure this was OK.

Not sure why you're being so attentive to our posts but at the end of the day, if the deal’s not for you, that’s absolutely fine but spending this much time monitoring one listing might say more about your week than our pricing strategy

            @westerneyez:

spending this much time monitoring one listing might say more about your week than our pricing strategy

Not sure why you had to get personal. Did I say something wrong?

        • No problems, it's good to let OzB members know the price history seeing this is a website for sharing bargains.

No really it isn't. Whats relevant is calling out a better price currently available. Cant see a better price available? …then its a bargain.

          Not hard to understand really.

          • -2

@Duff5000: Yes calling out a better price is definitely good but it's also handy to know price history. There's even websites like Camel and Pricehipster that display previous prices because it's valuable info for professional bargain hunters.

I've actually made Reps drop their price on posts by doing this in the past, saving the community money.

            • @WatchNerd: Saying

"Note: was slightly cheaper last time"

              Is very different to

Last post was cheaper so not really a bargain. More like just using OzB for free adz -

Are you really that unaware of how badly you come across there? And to then call out the rep with "Not sure why you had to get personal."

              Did I say something wrong?

              Yes. yes you did.

              Anyway….

              • -2

@Duff5000: The frequency of these posts shows they're definitely OzFreeAdz. Majority of Rep posts are & need to be scrutinised. Not going to stop just because of a few negs, sorry.

                • @WatchNerd: If its the cheapest offer then its a bargain, found a better offer then feel free to post it.

If the mods are fine with a rep doing an offer again after 3 months then so be it.

If you have no interest in a deal and you just came to complain what are you even doing? Click on something else… nobody has found you attacking a rep like some sort of self appointed OZB cop helpful.

                  • @Duff5000: I'm not here to argue with other OzB members, it's pointless. If you think I've breached the guidelines just report it to the mods & let them deal with it.
                    Have a good night.

Got this the last time a deal was posted. Happy to vouch for the deal. Lenses came drop shipped from supplier, it was fast, the lenses are not dated stock. Very happy.

    • Thanks for the shoutout

  • Whats the expiry of Lens, Is it monthly or daily?

    • Hey there. It's a daily lens. It also depends on the power you select. Generally speaking it will have at least 2 years.

    • My batch earlier this year, expiry was June 2028. They are drop shipped from supplier so unlikely to be old. It's just a piece of silicon anyway…not like something you eat.

  • Why is it that dailies cost ~$100/month for 60 and monthlies cost ~$100/month for 2?

Are monthlies really 30x as expensive to make? Or is it just a scam?

    • +1

      Hey there!

So with monthly lenses, say you purchase a 6 month supply, it (usually) comes in a box no bigger than a normal wallet. it also contains 6 lenses.

For a 6 month supply of dailies, you'll have 180 lenses, that's a lot more packaging and lenses etc…

With dailies there's no need for cleaning solution, for monthly lenses there are. So monthly lenses itself might be cheaper, but when you add up the need to purchase other products, the difference in price is not as much as it seems.

If you're only a part time contact lens wearer - only using it for sport or going out, then dailies would definitely be cheaper. Hope that helps.

      • No I understand that, I'm asking why monthlies are so much more expensive than they should be. Seems like a rort.

I'm just complaining out loud, don't stress

        • Hmmm…something I cannot answer with 100% authority

  • Heath fund claimable?

    • Receipts for health fund claims will be issued within two business days. If your health insurance covers optical benefits, you may lodge a claim provided sufficient credit remains within your health fund benefits.

  • Brilliant, have used these for years. Bought and will look out for the next time this deal is run!

    • Thank you!

  • Ive often thought about getting contacts for bball. I normally wear glasses during the day but nothing while playing. -1 sph, -2 cyl so not awful but would be nice to be able to see properly during the game.

If you have never had contacts how do you go about it?

I normally just go to specsavers once a year for my glases prescription then order frames online.

    • +1

I am a glasses user and only wear contacts when I am going for a run, a couple of times a week. It's really good to be able to feel and see more widely and easily. No concern of glasses being knocked or bounce off.

To start I would go-to specsavers and ask for a couple of trial pairs. Get the script off them. Get some contact lens liquid, practice putting them on at home. (The optometrist at specsavers will teach you) Wear for a day and see how you fare. Practice taking them off.

When happy buy better brands online matching the script. I personally rate specsavers ones are serviceable but would prefer any legit big brand than specsavers home brand ones.

      • +1

Yes, when making an appointment with your local optometrist make sure you specify that you're interested in contact lenses so that they can allow for extra time otherwise you might need to come back for a second visit.
