          • @eathb: $189 for home edtion. same as the previuos 5080 deal.
I remember there is a deal with free home edtion recently. but not this one.

              @findcaiyzh: Recently paid for Win 11 on a I5 / 4060.
Came with Linux Mint with a link to download Windows and a product key in a txt file
Major pain in the *** getting all the drivers and would crash with any Nvidia driver after Feb 2025.
Took a week to get it stable, so much for installed and tested

          • @eathb: It is not free for home edition - that was an error. I ordered the 5070 system that had 'free' windows 11 Home, but they emailed me last week saying it was an error, and I can either change to Linux or pay $189.

            Went with Linux.

MS make it super simple to install windows these days… literally just need an internet connection and a usb drive to build the installer disk.
Then it is as simple as hitting next next next next on the wizard ….

  • How exactly does the warranty process work? Are the parts used off the shelf so they all keep their own warranty? or is it just 1 year like all the OEM prebuilds

When googling the case Antec CX700 every picture shows only having 1x USB A and 1x USB C port on the side but the pictures on techfast show it has 2x USB A ports and 1x USB C port. Is the case listing correct?

Waiting for that sub $2k 5070Ti build.

@luketechfast - I want to upgrade the motherboard to X870 for the "R7-9800X3D, RTX 5080" deal. On your website, it says "AMD X870 [ATX] Wi-Fi Motherboard ($269.00)". But here u suggest that it is "MSI PRO X870-P WiFi". Is this a "brand may vary" type thing, and u will "try to accommodate"? Or is this the X870 upgrade exactly "MSI PRO X870-P WiFi". Lots of X870 boards and the ambiguity is quite concerning for a $3k PC (after upgrades).

    • I'm interested in knowing this as well, as have been considering that upgrade path for a possible order.

Having bought around 10 techfast machines during the last few years…

"you get what you get and you don't get upset"

They reserve the right to use / substitute brands to depending on availability..

        $2888 machine..
the videocard has a retail around the $2000 mark.. the CPU around $800 retail..
for an extra $100 or so + delivery .. .. its assembled with the rest of machine "free", just think of it as a bonus..

I think.. it is suggested they are currently using the MSI pro X870-P wifi.. but this could obviously change at a moments notice, depending on price and availability..

each of the bottom feeder X870 boards.. have thier pluses and minuses.. the issue with x870-P MSI boards. is that it only has one USB4 port.. although the X870 standard calls for two.. the gigabyte board.. is stupid about the use of the PCI lanes for the NVME, and has questionable VRMs.. the Asrock board is potentially a CPU killer.. in fact the X870-p Prime Asus, is prorably the best of the bunch.. (bar the odd pci-express slot usage and saving and lack of RGB on the board itself).

I would definitely grab the TUF b650M-E upgrade… it has unoffocial pci-express 5.0 suuport on the GPU.. (mine is working fine at the moment) and has decent vrms.. obviously no USB4 though…

I would suggest expect the worse.. and hope for the best..
These machines are built to a price..

Having said all that, I have psurprised.. mostly positively and occasionally negatively with some of the parts that have been included..
Sometimes.. i have extended up with really nice / good powersupplies / ram etc.. compared to some of the cheap rubbish around which they could have used…

At other times. completely surprised.. and annoyed.. my $4999 machine having fixed RGB, fixed speed fans (6 of them).. rather than PWM / ARGB fans.. I didn't even know than Antec made a non ARGB version of the CX700 (to their credit it was listed as a RGB CX700), its obviously a OEM only part.. for the $20-$30 saved.. I will have to buy another $50 of fans.. and spends a few hours to organise the cable management.. if I have know.. I would have fixed for the minimal amount for the case upgrade.. however I didn't get a "free upgrade" to the Gamerock 5090 OC, from the zotac, which was listed as a additional $400 option..

The important fact. not clearly stated.. is that you are pretty much preordering a machine.. with a 4 - 7 weeks delivery window. Not like most other most expensive builders, who have stock on site. These ozbargain specials.. are pretty close to unmatchable in price .. assuming due to the economies of scale / bulk buyers, they are doing..

I have been building my own PC for over 30 years now.. and for price and convenience… I find it very very hard to go past some of their deals… if I am NOT in a hurry to receive delivery.

        • Thanks for the reply, Kelvin. Very informative. Cheers!

        • Thanks, really appreciate your comments.

        • Typo iin my comment.. I got a free upgrade (at that time listed for $400 txtra ) to the Gamerock OC RTx5090 rather than the Zotac.. which was a nice suprise..

          • @Kelvin: Hey Kevin, another question please (if u don't mind). Do u think it is worth upgrading to (1) 360mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler, and/or (2) Antec C3 Tempered Glass ARGB ATX Case?

            • +1

@BargainOzzie: I would upgrade the case to something with ARGB. Most ARGB fans. .(hopefully all), will be PWM and speed controllable..
else buy one to two sets of these and fit them yourself (but no reverse fans)
              https://www.amazon.com.au/Thermalright-TL-C12C-S-Computer-In…

The 240mm liquid cooler, I got with my first techfast 5080 system (an MSI unit was plain garbage).. for $80-$90.. you can get a good 360mm thermalright unit from Amazon, with ARGB fans.. Concidentally enough, my Evatech prebuilt came with the identical MSI 240mm AIO.. which noisy, horrible garbage as well. I am sure these system builders are buy the cheapest AIO available…. some of them are absoutely horrible.

  • will the 5070 and 7500f build for 1388 be back in stock anytime soon?

  • Can you add upgrades for this?

I wonder which monitor people use who purchase this level: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D | RTX 5080 Desktop PC. My monitor is acer xz321qu which was bought 5 years ago. Seems a little waste if I buy 9800X3D + RTX 5080 (or RTX 5070 Ti)?

    • I recently bought an MSI MPG 491CQPX so I'll be using that, however I think the main target audience would be anyone who wants to game at 1440 with a high refresh rate (240hz or so).

  • How does the order queue work? I bought my system before my mate but his has been picked before mine and is being built.

  • does the msi mag pano case come with the pre installed fans? interested in the 9800x3d 5800 build

  • whats the wait time for the 9800x3d/5080?

  • Anyone get there orders for this deal? im still stuck at Order Placed and ordered 23rd July 2025

  • @luketechfast can you please reply my my email?? I have placed my order 2 weeks ago and now the order status still in first stage "ORDER PLACED" and never moved up. in past 9 days I have sent 5 emails to ask my order and even didn't get 1 reply… Its really bad feeling that be ghosted after I pay the money… as before I pay and send emails and only get reply in 20 mins and with very good attitude…

    • hey mate could I get an update about your situation, don't want to press buy without knowing everything is all good

  • Damn, was just about to pull the trigger on this. Thought it would be running during the whole EOFY sale. How long before this deal comes back?
