Hey @luketechfast, id recommend as well as stress testing, make sure all the ports work.

I got my techfast PC last week and although it came working as is, the motherboard doesnt detect any of my additional SATA drives and apparently it's a common issue with that motherboard. I put in a support request but nothing back just yet.

is 1188 Cheap? can i use it to play COD Black Op 7

    • +3

Depends what screen resolution you have or plan on buying, but I would say, 27" FHD with high refresh rate is probably the best for this setup. You will be pushing it with 1440p or even higher.

      • What about the $2888 model?

        • yes, and very easily. Check youtube as with my comment below. You can literally see someone playing it.

          • @Naigrabzo: How? Black ops 7 isn’t even out yet….

            • @Larsson: He is asking before it gets released, I'm sure the minimum required hardware specs are listed somewhere.

              • @itsmoe: He said and I quote “ You can literally see someone playing it.”

That’s what I am referring to.

                • @Larsson: Oh sorry fam, my bad, I didn't see that comment, maybe they have beta testers testing the game for pre-release promotion?

I haven't personally checked youtube but I won't be surprised considering how money hungry that company has become.

            • @Larsson: LOL I didn't know that. How would you know how an unreleased game will play on a current card?

        • Yeh the 5080 would be able to run most games on high quality on 4k. I wouldn't get a 4k monitor though, an OLED high refresh 1440p monitor would be perfect. a 34" ultra wide maybe? There are many good options out there that could support the 5080, you just have to see what suits you based on your budget, but most professional gamers especially for first person shooter games, say that 27" is the best size for these type of games.

I personally have a 34" 1440p 144hz and I find it a bit too big for warzone. I am looking at downgrading to 27" OLED with higher refresh rate, as it would also be easier on my eyes.

          • @itsmoe: 1440p at 34inch will have a terrible pixel density.

            • @Micolash: Nah it's actually not bad. It's not the best but it's not bad. Had it since covid and it's pretty nice, except its a VA panel so it's not the best.

            • @Micolash: 34" ultra wide 3440 x 1440 == 27" 2560 x 1440 … but WIIIIDEEEER (and is awesome).

I don't know that I've seen a 34" at 1440, but hey, there is 1080 monitors at 32" which I think is insane.

              • @The Hawk: It's this monitor, Xiaomi Mi 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor with WQHD 3440x1440

          • @itsmoe: Wattabout a 49" for the 5060ti or 5080 instead? Doable and playable?

            • @pacificstorm: 49" but what resolution? What are the specs? It all depends on how many pixels the GPU has to push, if it's 4k, 100% 5080.

              • @itsmoe: 3440×1440 ultrawide? No 4K.

                • @pacificstorm: 49" at 3440x1440? Might as well get a 34" at that resolution like the one I have - Xiaomi Mi 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor with WQHD 3440x1440

                  • @itsmoe: Already am on 34". Wanna give the 49" a go and wonderin' if a 5060 or 5070 will do the job nicely at max or medium setting on 1440 or will I still need at least a minimum of a 5080 at that resolution.

                    • @pacificstorm: Which 49 inch are you looking at? I don't think it's that same resolution. I think the resolution should be around 5120x1440, if so, 5080 for best experience.

                      • +1

@itsmoe: The Samsung Odyssey's or Kogan's 49s or might stick to my 34 and upgrade my current 1660ti to a 5060 or a 5070. If I do upgrade my card then it's safe to assume I'd need to change my power supply too or simply just grab one of theseTechfast deals with the latest card and be done with it.

                        Anyways, thanks for the inputs.

    • yes and easily. btw if you search for cpu and gpu spec on youtube you can see someone testing that game on that rig.

    • Wait there's 7 black ops now??? Damn I feel old.

    • I paid $800 for a 5060 TI alone in May. Will comfortably do 1440p methinks with a few quality tweaks if needed (I dont use mine for gaming though)

I would see if you can get 32GB of system memory though, otherwise its a solid deal.

  • +26

Effing nvidia with their 60 series having more vram than the 70 series. Just working backwards. Buy another jacket you 4 trillion dollar turd.

    • nvidia with their 60 series having more vram than the 70 series.

Yeah what's that about? Is it for video editing or something?

      • +7

5060 Ti has a 128-bit bus, which allows for 4 VRAM chips to be put on the card, while the 5070 has a 192-bit bus (and thus 6 chips are possible).

Currently only 1, 2, 4 GB chip options are economically viable, so the 5070 goes for 12GB rather than 24 (which would see it get bought by AI developers on mass for cheap dev workstations), and the 5060 Ti offers 8 and 16GB options.

It's not cost effective to increase either the VRAM count or bus size, but NVIDIA do offer the option to make the 5060 Ti more capable for 1440p and - particularly - 4K, and presumably for students learning AI.

3GB chips have been ramping this year, and we'll see those in a refresh, as well as in the future.

These sell out very quickly so I'm not sure why they would bother

      • As I said, just curious. Plus it's always good to ask.

        • +1

          Very fair, best of luck

    • You'll pretty much never see such a discount on bigger pc parts, margins are already single digits.

        Well played

    • +4

      stay away from the 5060 and 5060ti 8gb, stick to GPU's with minimum 12gb vram (like 5070), 9060XT 16gb, 5060ti 16gb, 5070, 9070 etc

    • If you upgrade 5060 deal for the same cooler, ram and power to match 5070 deal, the price difference is only $13.
I would break my piggybank to find spare $200 and go for 5070 deal.

      • I missed out on the 5070 deal, should I just wait for a future 5070 deal then? since im getting a weaker gpu that at the same price

  • @luketechfast hey mate just missed out on ordering the 5070 deal again. Could you please let me know if there is anyone canceled their order. Would happily take their place.

  • 5070ti build pleasseee! Also any chance you could add some options for matx case in? Ie cx500

  • Newbie question - how will the 5060 build work for Minecraft. Specifically with 'mods' installed which supposedly require more processing power.

    • +1

      Shouldn't have any issues

  • +2

Please just make the combo of 5070 ti paired with 9800x3d please. Just replace the gpu of 5080 please

  • These prices are genuinely fantastic, I have no regrets building my own PC and having the freedom to choose my own parts but boy I could have saved money and still got a better performing rig 😂

    • +6

i did my own for a while too but at the speed of advances nowadays you just get left with an expensive system full of good parts that's old all of a sudden ,
best to stick to good CPU and GPU and go mid tier everything else.

  • is the 5-6-ti or 5070 better price

  • +2

how much time do you take to ship?

    • +5

For reference - I ordered this deal the last time they offered. 24/06/25.

It's still in queue waiting to be built.

      • Thanks for this, I’m not pulling the trigger because having to wait potentially over a month just to save couple of $ hundreds.

        • +2

          Everyones mileage seems to vary.

I purchased a pre built from them 2 years ago and that was about 2 weeks from purchase date to delivery.

This time round either they backlogged too many builds or they just quietly didn't have all the components ready to go and are waiting on stock to arrive.

          • @sk8rus4: Had a similar experience last year, shipped about 2.5 weeks after order and was received a few days later.

      • +2

Mine was " in build" the day after I ordered and ready to ship to me well within the 10-14 business days i was quoted.

They were so efficient,i has to request a delay to shipment because i wasnt going to be home!

I only changed the case, no other modifications to the spec.

      • Have you tried following up? Seems long.

        • +3

Yes, was told not to worry and that the website will update when it changes progress stage.

          It's still "order placed". Lol

          • @sk8rus4: That’s a huge wait! I’m hoping to get a refund on an order I placed. So see how that goes..

          • +1

@sk8rus4: Wow a whole month and it hasn't moved?

Was there an estimated dispatch window given? Got the 5070 deal last week and mine is estimated to dispatch 24-31st July, wondering if that'll actually happen now.

            • +1

@buckethat: There was an initial one that was earlier. Few weeks later I checked again and they changed the layout of the screen, but it also updated the estimated window lol.

New estimated dispatch date is 14-21 July.

              • @sk8rus4:

                14-21 July

Well if yours is any indication.. not looking too flash for me either then haha

Good luck hope they ship yours soon.

                • +1

@buckethat: Received a response this morning apologizing for the delay and that there was an issue with shipments of 5080 cards.

Job status went from "order placed" to "shipped" all in the last few hours. Auspost have already received shipping information.

If it turns up in good condition, that's a pretty good redemption.

    • +7

My 5090/7800x3d deal was pretty much 4 weeks from time of order to delivery (but that was with Express post)
Dropped $400 in that time (and another $400 since) … and I missed out on the free game promo
No reply to emails either - even though multiple reports here said Techfast were usually "pretty good" about price drops and delays.

The $149 360mm AIO cooler optional "upgrade" was a cheap MSI AIO that is on sale for $99 right now (at Scorptec) - and has already had a pump blockage once that needed clearing, but seems to be working fine now

      RAM and HDD were "Biwin"

PSU and Case were Antec and decent enough.

This was my first time buying a prebuilt … and will no doubt be my last.

      • +3

This is what is sketchy about these pre-built PC comparisons with PC Part-Picker. As you can see in the listing, they show popular manufacturer brands for their comparison parts that will inevitably blow out the estimated build price making their systems look amazing in comparison when in reality they are getting some cheap Chinese brands nobody has ever heard of.

If you have the time and patience, I highly recommend buying the parts, looking up a detailed video on how to build PC on YouTube and doing-it-yourself. The satisfaction you get from building your own machine is huge, and you can save a ton shopping around for the best deals on parts.

        • Cheers for the reply - I usually do build my own.. But thought I'd give a prebuilt a try and that I was getting a decent price with the 5090 deal … wrong about that haha - should've just waited a few weeks.

The lack of acknowledgement of my emails discussing the price drops & shipping delay was pretty bad customer service though. But whatever, lesson learnt - definitely won't be shopping here again.

          • +1

@cobyau: Im not sure a 5090 / 9800 X3D deal gets as good as this. I have tried every avenue negotiating on marketplace etc. I'd have to nail a 3300-3500 5090 on marketplace to even come close to this price.

Bit like you too, have been trying to score a BYO GPU deal on marketplace with a 9800X3D, I find ppl selling on there spec up a bit better with a a more reasonable price.

            • +1

@cobyau: Terribly sorry about your experience. I ordered the exact same config as you in May - 5090, 9800x3d, x870, 360 AIO and got the same branded components. Mine took 1 month with standard post. No issues with the cooler or otherwise. In fact I couldn't be happier. Hoping others don't get a dud.

              • +1

@sdm01: Turns out I'm a n00b and the AIO cooler was not faulty .. but the BIOS had reset and the Fan control speeds changed from PWM to Auto … which was causing the cooler to appear to not function and the machine to overheat. :( :(

Emailing support@techfast last night - I got an immediate response this morning with information and assistance from Caleb to resolve .. and it appears to be working fine now … so will scrub my comments about the cooler being faulty above!

Happy with their support process and quick response time … but still haven't received any acknowledgement or communication about the price drop prior to receiving the machine, or not receiving the machine in time to claim the nVidia promotion :(

    • I bought 9800x3d/5080, ordered on 26th Jun, arrived on 16th Jul(Sydney).

      • Bought the same one. Earlier than that. Still at order placed lol.

        • Might want to tag Luke here or say ozb people are receiving theirs

        • That is weird. Is it bacause I didn't update anything?

    • I ordered the 5070 deal a few weeks back and it literally took 7 days from order to delivery. The updates were regular from Techfast and the the whole process was efficient and painless. Would recommend them easily

  • +1

If I very rarely game and instead want to use the GPU for running Ollama would this be a better option than the RTX 5070 12GB deal?

  • +7

Interesting that, unlike previous posts by OP, this one makes no mention of shipping times or part availability…

    Caveat Emptor

  • NEBULA PRICE MATCH THE 5080 PLS!!

  • +4

Took a little time to arrive, but I bought two of the 7500F systems (upgraded RAM to 32GB DDR5-6000, and the PSU to a Gold one). Both were well packaged and arrived safely. No issues to report, we installed Windows 11 Pro and both machines are behaving well.

One of them had a loose screw that was meant to hold down one of the fans, a week later I finally pulled my finger out and removed the GPU to install the screw - all good.

The 5060Ti 16GB is great for 1080P/1440P gaming. Case is easy to work in and looks smart on a desk.

    Recommended.

  • This is $1000 cheaper then the quote I got from mwave. Are these guys safe to use? or am i just going to get cheap china rip off parts.
    Looking at the 5080 model.

    • +2

ozbargain would have eaten them alive if they were terrible, they are safe as :)

  • Far out, I don't know what's better, this 5080 deal or the 5090 deal… dayum

  • +1

Took about 2 weeks to arrive (probably was last in queue as I had one of the last EOFY orders). Pretty happy with the build - more price competitive than if I'd done it myself, and far less fiddly for them to build it and manage the cables. Installed my own second NVMe drive and have ordered some RAM which I'll swap out. Probably the biggest disappointment was the audible fan noises vs. my old computer and the Asus Fan Xpert auto tuning was pretty bad but I think I've figured it out - seems it was making the louder case fans do more of the work, and when I got the CPU fan to do a bit more I finally have my peace and quiet when I'm not playing a demanding game.

  • Last deal I ordered the Desktop PC: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F | RTX 5060 Ti 16GB - RUNOUT
Order placed on June 26th, delivered July 18th.

Wouldn't say it was fast, but they did give some regular email updates throughout and it arrived in good working condition. Overall pretty happy id say.

  • +1

I'd be all over this if it didn't come with Linux. I'm tech illiterate, and the guides online on how to remove Linux and install windows are confusing. Especially discouraging when the tutorial comments say the tutorial doesn't work for Linux Mint.

Can I just get this with a non activated Windows? I already have a Windows key (which is why I don't want to spend 189 for the windows upgrade).

    • when you select Windows 11 the description changes to say it then comes preinstalled with Windows 11 so you shouldnt have to worry about linux removal

      • From what I could see it will cost an extra $189 though? I have a Windows key already, so don't want to have to buy another.

        • -2

          It's free, home edition

          • @eathb: $189 for home edtion. same as the previuos 5080 deal.
I remember there is a deal with free home edtion recently. but not this one.

            • @findcaiyzh: Recently paid for Win 11 on a I5 / 4060.
Came with Linux Mint with a link to download Windows and a product key in a txt file
Major pain in the *** getting all the drivers and would crash with any Nvidia driver after Feb 2025.
Took a week to get it stable, so much for installed and tested

          • @eathb: It is not free for home edition - that was an error. I ordered the 5070 system that had 'free' windows 11 Home, but they emailed me last week saying it was an error, and I can either change to Linux or pay $189.

            Went with Linux.
