  • I currently have a DeLonghi Gran Lattissima Nespresso machine, and getting really over Nespresso and their crappy coffee and increase in prices. Is this a good coffee machine to switch to? Just keen for a good cup of coffee in the morning, definitely not a coffee snob or anything like that. Heard De’Longhi is a good brand.

We bought this in the recent Amazon sale for the same price. Love it, really impressed with it. You can make hot or cold drinks. We've been buying the Lazzio Brazil Coffee Beans and have not been disappointed. https://www.aldi.com.au/product/lazzio-brazil-coffee-beans-1…

I have an earlier version of this Delonghi bought in 2017, which I think has made over 15,000 shots now. Has been repaired twice (once under warranty and then for $350), but still worth it. I really enjoy its milk based coffee (provided that beans are good) and like it better than what I get in coffee shops. I'm not a coffee snob too but heard that this brand is among the best. Just follow maintenance instructions..
Ideally though, you need to go to a store and try coffee from different brands of automatic machines there to decide which one tastes best for you.

  • These machines are great BUT they almost all brew the coffee in a high-pressure boiler made from heat resistant plastic, which some people may find less than ideal.
(the potential for micro plastics and chemical leaching)

    • Is there any machines that don’t have this issues but are still attainable?

    • oh wow, rip if its true.. this is a $1000 machine…

        Definitely the case.

But, technically every thermoblock machine out there sends hotwater via Teflon tubes. All autos use a pressurised plastic chamber..

Might be some manual machines out there with a metal boiler on top of the metal group head. Don't know.

        If not a Moka pot.

But…microplastics are everywhere. Beyond escaping them now.

        • They should be using stainless at this price point, its possible to make stainless tubes.

          • @Ryxxi: No doubt …but there isn't a single one (auto) in existence.

The filter disc is stainless..that's about it.

  • just be aware this model is the non wifi model. Although the WiFi doesnt help much… The Wifi model also has Cold brew function

    • Almost $500 difference between these models. Expensive.

Why on earth would anyone need a wifi coffee machine?

We've got this one in the office, makes pretty good coffee (not amazing, but it could be the beans, other factors etc. I have never tried to adjust the settings)… It probably does 20 to 30 coffees per day, and just keeps on going.

        Cold brew function brah read
