Wiha 3.0x 100mm Insulated VDE 1000V Flat Screwdriver $13.54 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

160

Wiha always make great stuff - this is an insulated VDE screwdriver for anyone doing hobby electronics or electricians alike.

I've had my eye on this one for a while but at $19 RRP it was always a bit too steep. Finally bit at $13.54, not a bad deal!

If you're working in panels, I much prefer this one: https://www.bunnings.com.au/wiha-3-0-x-65mm-vde-1000v-precis…

    • agreed… the rotating base is perfect for one handed but constant pressure turning.

$19 a bit too steep… hmm one would think $19 to save you from 12v - 250v shock. Or higher volts and amps.
We still have some stanley insulated screw drivers from 1999.

    • This is to complement an existing set :)

Groovy, any money saved goes to the next toy or tool :)

Is there a big quality difference between these two?

I’ve owned that one, the tips will bend on the first use. Quite cheap metal. Wiha is up there with the best. I’d rank Wera as best.

Cheap tools are more expensive because you end up buying twice. If the insulation is poor and you get shocked, then it is cheaper because you might get hurt or die of electrocution, so you don't need to purchase a second more expensive set.

      • Aldi ain't going to sell something that is not up to code. They have been reviewed a bit online and the insulation is good. Only problem with the cheap ones is the softness of the metal. OK for home DIY, not for every day use as a trade.

  • im not an expert at electricity but these are met to stop you from getting fried right ?

No guarantee as you need to use a variety of things to stop that, but it does help if you’re doing hot work or just as a precaution.

  • What's a good combo to get if you don't want to buy a set you don't need maybe recommend me the two or three most used ones for electrica6work

3.5mm x 100mm terminal wiha are the only screw drivers I go through. I think I have 3 full brand new wiha sets but no terminal drivers, so this will come in handy.
    Thanks op

    • Yep I like the 3mm as they are a bit more universal in terminal plugs. I’m building my collection!
