Was 1899 retail… Thanks op,
Bought 15
Will resell 14
RRP $811!
Guess I should trust the reference RRP pricing on a website that doesn't even load on my mobile browser.
Some other models on the ebay store as well with free postage (Might be ebay plus only?)
I also saw this Caroma Elvire Progressive Basin Mixer - Knurled Gunmetal Handle for $99, was $681
https://elvor.com.au/products/caroma-elvire-progressive-basi…
This would also be a good present for somebody who is looking to get into home ownership, especially if the house they want to buy hasn't got a wall basin mixer.
Deal Posting Guidelines
Avoid adding comparisons to RRP or other potentially misleading price comparisons.
Since when has anyone ever bought bathroom fittings for RRP? $811 seems a bit misleading.
Edit - Neg all you want, I didn't make the guidelines LOL.
And you've negged to align with your idiotic 'joke'? On your bike, ya goose
Thanks for your comment. That's ABI interiors product, not the Caroma Elvire range which is an high-end. Still appreciate your time in providing feedback.
Ya lazy bum, it's not even the same product, nor the same manufacturer . You probably also think a Nintendo Switch 2 is a bad deal at $699 because an Atari 2600 clone is $29.99.
Sorry but what makes this worth 800 bucks RRP?
Thanks for your comment. Its an high-end product by Caroma, comes with 20 years warranty. Its handle is Knurled which is in trend at the moment.
The RRP is set by the manufacturer, which the stores have no control over.
We currently have surplus stock that we need to clear, hence the deal.
Thanks again..
Caroma, the company that makes the cheap plastic toilet seats and those weird plastic stools?
They also have knurled toilet seats that are $5479 if you want. I don't want to talk about knurled stools.
What material is a toilet seat meant to be made from?
Do you need a special cartridge or fitting to get these to work on existing hardware?
For example the normal Phoenix mixers.
Hi, its a complete set so you will not need any existing mixer. For more information on this product, please visit https://www.caroma.com/au/product/elvire-progressive-wall-ba…
I got excited that the whole Elvire range would be on sale in anticipation of some upcoming renovations. But no shower unfortunately
So how do you control the temperature and flow rate with one knob
I'm a knob and I'd like to know too 😜
First 90 degrees is cold water only, if you want to have high pressure you have to make do with that water being hot (progessively). Only compatible with water systems with equal pressure hot and cold water. As per documentation on the website.
Personally, the knob should be further out from the wall, but that wouldn't look as "good".
Make things harder to use, but cheaper to make with fewer controls.
Seems they're following the apple playbook.
EV playbook too these days
This is a lot more complex to make than a 2 tap system. Agree it’s a stupid trend but it’s definitely not cheaper to make
I am looking at "Caroma Spirit Basin Mixer Tap (Wall Mount 200mm) - Chrome" on their website, but drawings don't seem to show anything 200mm. Not sure about the accuracy of information.
$811 my a**s
Impractical design
RRP😂
2 things .
170mm is pretty short
i have a feeling that the finish will not last long
surplus is 100+ in stock
Rip-off Retail Price
It says PayPal on the bottom of the website, but there isn’t any actual PayPal in the checkout
Cost of build won't more than $20
Ridiculous pricing aside, I'd never ever ever recommend a progressive mixer. We bought a house that has them preinstalled and we've hated them since day one, especially in winter. It's just such a stupid concept to control both temperature and flow with a single knob I don't even know why it's even a thing.
I first encountered this, without knowing the name, in hotels in the USA. Who wants a shower where the flow can’t be controlled withojt changing the temperature.
I have no idea why anyone would buy these devices.
Avoid buying caroma as their finish is achieved by coat of lacquer not elctroplated.
I spend so much on their taps and finnings( brushed nickel) only to find out lacquer peels of in few months.
It was always wiped with microfibre cloths .
I have to claim under warranty but if they are replacing with similar products this will go on.
Thanks for your feedback. Caroma products contain years of replacement warranty, so you are covered. Thanks again.
I don't reckon they'll cover installation fees…
Yeah But I have to pay the plumber take it off and replace.
Imagine how much margin they are making on these things?
same goes to all these type of products. low frequency infrastructure purchase. you basically pay for its existence & uniqueness. like a pair of glasses. cost of material and customized lens is likely to be around 10~20.
Does it contain lead?
some of the caroma products on clearance.. they are actually from the Flexispray range
Fake RRP
looking at replacing my basin tap which sits on the vanity. can the set up be achieved via a plumber? Will tiles need to be removed?
RRP is bonkers, but Ive used different Caroma mixer, shower hardware and it looked very nice. definitely worth the bit extra compared to Bunnings Mondella .
cant comment on longevity.
wow bargain!!@!@@
