20% off Most Aer Products + $10 Delivery ($0 with $149 Order) @ Rushfaster

320

This is part of Rushfaster's up to 20% off flash sale. What I cared about is the 20% off most Aer products.
Excluded Aer products seem to mostly be the Ultra line along with a few other items.

Some items that are discounted include:
Aer Travel Pack 3 $396
Aer City Pack Pro 2 $336

The Aer Travel Pack 3 is arguably one of the best travel backpacks (as reviewed by Pack Hacker).

No, this is not for everyone. No, this is probably not 8x better than a $50 backpack…but you do easily qualify for free shipping because everything by Aer is so gosh darn expensive.

Good deal, but an FYI for those considering, the Aer Travel Pack 3 is also super heavy. Not ideal for carry on in Australia/Asia. Unless you really want lots and lots of pockets etc.

Much lighter options out there, also more comfortable.

any recommendation for something similar (25L-30L) ?

      • +4

osprey daylite 26+6 would be an easy pick in that range. Incredibly well built for the weight.

patagonia mlc 30 is another good option in that range, but I ended up returning it and keeping the daylite 26+6.

Osprey daylite 35 is a good option if you need the ability to carry a bit more too, without increasing the weight by much.

      • Currently in a little village in Kuching Sarawak with my Bellroy Travel Pack Lite 38l. First time I've one bagged it but this pack has been great for getting around airports, on the plane, moving around. Comes in a 30l. Again not cheap. Check YouTube for reviews 😊

        • I have a 30L Bellroy Travel Pack Lite. Great bag, used it for a couple of shorter trips so far and it’s been easy to handle and gives me more than enough space. Packing cubes make the main section even better.

For the price, would recommend. Purchased it from Rushfaster as well, was cheaper than the Bellroy site.

I just bought a Thule Aion 28L from Rushfaster and it's brilliant for all my needs, it expands to 32L I believe as well

      • Big fan of the talon 22 with the hip belts. Makes carrying 14kg of electronics a dream

I have the city pack pro 2 its an amazing backpack for work/EDC

    • +4

I recently got the City Pack Pro 2 X-Pac to replace my beloved Timbuk2 Never Check Expandable Backpack. I've only used it for about a week and it feels better than the Timbuk2 in many aspects.

City Pack Pro 2 is 24L and I think it's perfect size for Work / Every Day Carry. It's big enough to carry ipad + 2nd screen + laptop + charger + accessories + lunchbox + headphones + paper notebook with ease.

      • I went from a Nike backpack to this and my back thanks me.

The organisation options in the backpack are amazing too. Things aren't just swimming around my backpack. I'm hoping this is a BIFL (or at least long term) purchase! It's holding up well so far, and it's been 3 years of daily use, being thrashed. No signs of wear.

    • Do you what the difference is with the non pro? it's $100 less

      • +2

        Capacity, 24L vs 16L

      • +1

Non Pro is only 16L compared to 24L for the Pro version. There might be other differences too, but this is the main one AFAIK

      • +1

Off the top of my head - size/capacity as others have mentioned, only slightly heavier, the pro has water bottle holders on both sides, quick access front pocket.

      • +1

I've been using a 16L backpack (non-Aer) for daily commute and I can say it feels better than a larger one as the smaller one stays closer to your body hence much less stress on the back and waist. The trade-off is that it doesn't hold bulky stuff well e.g. water bottles.

  • Would've considered one of their slings, but got selected in the last Packolab draw for a Samurai, which I hope will be my endgame sling.

    • I've got one of their slings but I end up using a Mark Ryden Messenger bag as I found their slings not big enough for my use case.
The Mark Ryden is big enough to house an ipad mini and a SteamDeck. I can highly recommend the messenger bag for its versatility

      • I had planned on buying a GR136 BYC Metrorunner, but they just made it too big for me.

  • Love my aer backpack. It's 3 years old now and still looks good as new

I think the real deal for Aer products is on Aliexpress. They're identical to ones purchased from official retailers and are most likely over-productions from the same factories.

    • Link?

      • I don't know what the rules are on OzB but if you search for Aer Slim Pouch it's the one with the store number ending with 5031.

        • Cheers I might roll the dice on this one

Was always a bag snob myself personally but gotta reign in the spending while feeding my habit

    • +4

Not identical, but pretty darn close. But you don't get warranty and I'd wager they may cheap out on some materials.

      • I'm pretty sure there are fakes too but I remember a post on ManyBaggers from a few months ago that was removed by the mods about the slim pouches being identical.

    • Have you personally bought one? I've been curious about the quality and they seem to be reviewed well (if the reviews are genuine).

Reading reviews from Chinese e-commerce sites directly, it's a mixture of claims between them being the real deal (i.e. over-productions/QC rejections) vs high quality fakes.

      • +5

I've bought knockoffs of the go pack 2 and day sling 3 max to compare to my real ones. The sling is pretty close but the magnetic clasp is weaker. The pack 2 looks like an entirely different material but feels the same in hand. Stitching etc looks all the same.

The Aer tag on both are reddish/pink instead of white.

On the other hand I've bought a bellroy knockoff of the lite travel pack and it other than the overall design it was entirely different lol.

        • +1

So funny when Chinese factories do this, like come on guys, you’ve already copied like 80% of it, just go for gold.

        • Interesting, thanks for sharing. Sounds like they're indeed just high quality fakes then, with different factories churning them out. I actually have a CPP2 on order from the most well reviewed seller I could find, which I'll be comparing with my genuine TP3. I also got a Travel Kit 2 from some random seller and it ended up being an obvious fake.

The Bellroy fakes being worse makes sense as they do have a much lower price than the Aer fakes, but I almost want to get one to compare for fun considering how cheap it is lol

      • There's reviews up on reddit for AER and Bellroy, haven't seen other brands. From what I've read they're mostly decent for the price but then you won't really know how long they'll last long term.

  • +1

Awesome bags, the city pack is great, have been using it for years and still looks brand new. Aer go is my favourite travel daypack, that quick access pocket is nice to shove a sweater in, and it has 2 huge water bottle pockets

For some people though these bags could have too much organisation and unnecessary pockets.

In b4 ‘will it carry my burdens’

  • I’ve got a Travel Pack 3 Small. Definitely heavy but also super high quality. Have used it for years of travel and can’t see any wear.

  • I have a Kathmandu Litehaul 38L bought during one of their standard 40% off sales (so paid ~$180). I have taken it on a 6-week trip to France as a carry on luggage and a 2-week trip to Egypt as a one bag travel setup. Really love all the high end features that you usually only get with the expensive brand names like Aer and Bellroy.

When on sale, it's a good option if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Aer, Bellroy, Osprey, Cotopaxi, etc.

  • Any $5 items so i can get free shipping?

    • Orbitkey notebook?

  • I have an Travel Pack 3, and I think I agree that it's a little heavy for onebagging on a budget airline trip. And also any time I ended up checking it in, it got caught for the straps and I needed to put it in oversize, which was suchhhhhh a pain in the ass.

Comfortable to carry around, either on your back, or with the handles. So, meh. And did me for a 5 week trip in Europe space wise with a few washing days.

The Osprey Farway or Farpoint, whatever it is, solves this by having a pocket in the back for all the straps to hide away.

  • The travel pack 3 price on AER official site is $400 in AUD… No deal for me if it's selling for $396…

    • Have you seen the delivery cost? Also, no local warranty if you purchase from Aer's website.

  • Forgot this was going to expire so soon. Now deciding between an AliExpress version of the Aer Travel Pack 3, AliExpress version of the Bellroy Travel Lite, or legit versions of Tomtoc T67
