[VIC, NSW, QLD, SA] $37 Electricity Credit in Sep for $30, $45 Credit in Oct for $30 @ Powershop

330

Details screenshot here

Great monthly offer again for this freezing winter. 👍

➡️ Basically you prepaid $30 by 31 Aug for $37 worth of credit for your first bill issued on/after 1 Sep 2025, and prepaid $30 by 31 Aug for $45 worth of credit for your first bill issued on/after 1 Oct 2025.
(If you've purchased the now expired deal last month, plus this current deal, you would have saved $15+$7=$22 in total for your Sep bill!)

➡️ For Victorians, there is also a $30 Electricity Credit in Sep for $10 deal until 31 Aug.

➡️ I also received a $40 Electricity Credit for $20 powerpack on my Anniversary month with them.

➡️ You may use your federal gov rebate or whatever credit you have to purchase, which means you don't even need to pay an extra cent.

➡️ For those who are new to Powershop, consider this $200+$100 sign up bonus credit deal.

➡️ Also you may stack with a $75 referral credit.
Their sign up bonus may not apply to the cheapest plan available to you, but you may change your plan as soon as you get the bonus, which is pretty much on day 1 or day 2.

➡️ If you forget to apply your referral code, don't worry, just give them a call. Their CS is really friendly and helpful. Your referrer may also need to call them, just a confirmation of details, won't take long.

👍 I've helped OZB members who PM me for this reason and we both got $75 right after we called.
With gov rebate + Sign up Credit + Referral Credit + Multiple Powerpacks, I have been enjoying free power for months.

➡️ After your purchase, the app shows "$30 available from 1 Sep".
Don't worry, you will see the full amount of credit on your Sep bill.
It's a bit confusing but it's just how their app is poorly designed.
You will find all the details on your bill.

🔴Some people complain about their price hike. It really depends on your region.
Did you call them and check if they have a better offer for you?
In my case, they email me saying they will hike my usage price by 15% and daily supply charge by 7% on 1 Aug.
but when I called them, they offered me a plan with NO INCREASE in daily supply charge and only a 1.3% increase in usage.
After taking account all these free powerpacks credit promo, they are definitely the cheapest electricity provider in my area according to Government comparison website.
Give them a call every 6 months or so to check whether you are on their best offer. You get nothing if you don't ask.

Econnex might be a better deal than referral.

    • Probably can't get both Econnex + $75 referral credit. Also consider delays and the risk of giving your personal info to a 3rd party.

On the other hand it's confirmed that you may get $200 sign up bonus + $75 referral credit directly from Powershop, as soon as you connect with them.

      • I didn’t have a referral code when I switched 27/6 but I do get the Econnex deal (Mastercard) eventually and got $200 credit immediately.

BTW, I forgot to add aged pension concession details I guess as no concession on first bill. Now added but can’t be applied before payment due, retrospectively. Stupid me, must have missed it during the sign up process as they said it is there to do.

        • Has anybody tried to sign up via Econnex, and then later contact Powershop to add a referral in retrospect?

Just reading OPs notes and sounds like they are pretty willing to apply referrals after sign up, but not sure if this would also work for those who have used Econnex for the referral/debit cards.

  • It's only showing me EV plans for some reason

    • +2

I'm on the EV day plan and use it to run 9 split systems full blast during the free period as well as charge my car. During winter it's nice to make the inside feel like summer

      • how many amps do you have going into your house?

        • I'm not sure but I know if I also use the oven I can't boil the kettle as it trips the breaker

      • needs moar bbq

  • Just tell which deal I should upvote and which one I should downvote?
    - the one posted on the 1st of the month so my money will be sitting in Powershop account instead of offset the whole month
    or
    - the one posted few days before the end of the month so I can still purchase the pack

I am not even saying this is a monthly thing but not some spontaneous deal.

You don't have to purchase it now, you've 31 days.
There is a reminder button on this post.
      Set it to 28 Aug.
If you still miss it, that's your fault for not visiting OZB once every 15 mins. lol

    • Dude, buy on credit card. $30 *.05 / 12 = 12.5c cost in interest.

      • Why not buy it on ING and get 1% cashback? $30 is 30c.

Hey mate, last day to purchase your powerpacks ;)

      • +1

It looks like that you have prepared the new post right after midnight.

        • Just enjoying my lovely Sunday. :D

0.5c feed in tariff, pretty low.

    • Was a paltry 1.4c when I signed up 27/6/25 and still is for me. I am leaving after 45 days as used my $200 welcome credit and will get the Econnex pre paid Mastercard. Love the app’s usage and solar stats but rates too high near Newcastle NSW. Ovo Energy much better.

  • New customer here. Do they sometimes drop powerpacks during the month, or what you see the first day of the month is basically what you will get that month?

  • +1

When you said you called them and they offered you a better plan, is this better plan one that can be seen on their website, or something hidden/custom?

  • I am so confused with our powershop account. We have not had one price rise since mid 2023 and even then it was the cheapest we could find for our use case.

I have been waiting and waiting for correspondence regarding a price hike, but it never comes. I have done the obligatory check to make sure it is still lower than others and it is by miles now. It used to be a very close thing between Powershop and AGL's EV plans, now its clearly cheaper than even that. Has anyone else not had any increases for the past 2 years?

    • Pays to stick it appears. Lucky you.

  • +1

Confirmed with Powershop on the phone they WILL NOT PRICE MATCH OR LOWER RATES. Only option is if you were on a plan with worse rates they can change you over. My peak usage charge went from 22.33c to 42.43c but supply went down from $1.10 to 88c. Slight decrease for off peak from 22.33c to 21.21c.

But after my data modelling they are still the best on the market for me.

  • When i called them there were no other better offers than the one email sent to me of price hike..

  • I signed up a week ago
    No powerpacks for me

also when I start app I get message "sorry something is wrong"
    the same on PC

    anybody know how to fix?

    • Have your power supply connected with them by now?
If not, your account isn't ready yet.
Otherwise, try call them and ask them to fix it.

  • if i refer a firend to signup will i get emails?

  • The rates from Powershop for me are higher again than the new rates from my existing plans - as high again as the price rise on my old plan. Discounts do not even come close to the difference. No deal.

  • The rates advertised on their website which says for new customers are slightly lower than what I got in the rate increase email.

Has anyone else had the same and managed to get put on to the advertised rates for new customers?

Will give them a buzz on Monday.

    • Yes it's lower for new sign ups but solar feed in is a lot lower. I'm still on 5c instead of 0.5c or 1c

  • New Powershop customer here. I have the $200 credit and my bills are very low. Will the $200 be applied to ongoing monthly bills until it is used up? I see I can also use the credit to purchase packs as with this deal. So the best way to use the credit is to purchase the pack deals as they come up?

    • Yes, and yes.
Please check your PM inbox. 👍

    • Sorry just to clarify. What happens if you purchase these packs and your bill is under $37/$45?

      • +1

        E.g. you bought both $37 & $45 power pack.
        Your sep bill is $30.
The remaining $7 goes to your October bill.
        Your Oct bill is $30.
It will use the Sep $7 credit first, then $23 from the $45 Oct power pack.
Remaining $22 goes to your Nov bill.

        • Thanks! Nice.

  • How do you change the plan you're on? There doesn't seem to be a way to do it via the app or on their website. I assume you give them a call?

    • That's right. Call or email.
