Is it as good as Sony?

Beware, multiple complaints of the headband cracking - which partially explains both the discounts and the release of a new model with a re-engineered headband after just a year

    • oof, and I just decided to buy them yesterday considering the features and the price. Seems to have the same hinge issue with the XM5 a couple years ago which is interesting as they both don't fold with only a swivel.

    • Also a little heavy and needs significant EQ beyond what's supplied in the app.

      • Agreed, was very disappointed by the stock sound.

    • Also has issues with creaking around hinges, super annoying as any movement of the head results in the creaking. Swapped and then the 2nd unit has any ANC and transparency static/humming noise in one side of the headphone. Disappointed with the QC.

  • Anyone know how the microphone sound cancellation compares to say the xm6? Still on a hunt for a decent microphone cancellation for calls on the move.. Did found 1 review that had a short on its cancellation ability but not a comparison against others…

It doesn't compare well. You're also up against it when it comes to bitrate until you're using LC3, which this doesn't support. Maybe double check if there's been any changes to AptX adaptive, or something is included in AptX Lossless, but I doubt it.

thank you for the info.. I'll avoid and keep an eye out for something else

  • Class A/B amplification.
What do Sennheiser, Sony, Bose et al use in their Bluetooth NC headphones?
I would have thought those two factors would eliminate any sonic benefit.
And wouldn't that make closed-back, padded over-ears get very warm?
