This previously popular budget Android tablet is back on sale with a direct discount instead of requiring a coupon code. For further savings, stack with 12% cashback at TopCashback and join Team OzBargain for 5% back as Shopping Credit.

The P50AI is a budget Android tablet from Teclast that ships with Android 15 out of the box with PC mode and offers a few more unique features. Notably, it includes two USB-C ports with one USB 3.2 (10Gbps) port with DisplayPort video output + PD charging and a second standard USB-C port for data transfer. The tablet has a 90Hz display and supports LDAC high-definition audio via Bluetooth 5.4. While a lot of the "AI" features are gimmicky, one notable one is toggleable AI video upscaling.

Other features include 11" 1280x800 90Hz refresh rate IPS display, 6GB LPDDR5 RAM (+10GB extended RAM), 128GB UFS 3.0 Storage (microSD support), Allwinner A733 8-Core CPU, Allwinner IMG BXM-4-64 MC1 GPU, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 7000mAh battery with PD fast charging, dual USB-C, dual mics, dual speakers, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The dimensions are 258mm(L) x 170mm(W) x 8.3mm(H) and it weighs 540g.

The 1280x800 display is a weak point, but the 90Hz refresh rate and video output help offset it. While the Allwinner A733 isn’t as powerful as the Helio G99, it still outperforms the Helio G85 found in a lot of "budget" tablets available locally. It’s well-suited for light gaming (not Genshin Impact) and emulation. It handles media and general use well.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Thanks! Finally nabbed a seemingly elusive cheap tablet. Was away for work for 10 days wishing I had a portable Netflix machine. Hopefully it'll arrive before my next trip.

Keen to hear what cases people suggest

Can this be used as a monitor given the USB-C display port, or is it output only? I apologise if this is a silly question.

    • +1

possible, try opencamera and use usb-c as input.

    • I use my Lenovo pro like this, don't think you should expect much with that resolution.
If you want I can tell you what app is working for me.

    • and sunshine/moonlight or apollo/artemis. google/youtube is ur friend.

    • That would be perfect but if anything it's software based and can only be used through streaming only. Something like Moonlight/Sunshine.

  • 'Not for Genshin Impact' - what sort of budget option would be good for Genshin, Fortnite, Roblox etc ….?

    • +2

Alldocube iPlay60 Mini Turbo. They sometimes go on sale.

Amazing what you can get for $125 these days.

  • Slight slow sometimes, persistent system notifications, cant get bitwarden to work on chrome.

    • +2

Use firefox, full native with adblock and extension support + bitwarden ;)

      • Thanks will try

Travelling soon, is this a decent option to watch netflix, youtube ect?

    • Assuming you have a decent phone that supports it, a cheaper option would be to just use a usb-c to hdmi cable (~$15). You'd need access to the hdmi port on the tv though, and figuring out where to put your phone can be difficult!

  • Any suggestion for a suitable case for it?

    • The Teclast case that was included as an option on the last deal isn't bad.
Seems a bit expensive on this item, but maybe available elsewhere on AliExpress for a decent price?

      • Saw just few on ali for aud 17, still expensive

  • Thanks OP, got one

  • Can this be used with a stylus? If so any recommendations? I want one to mark homework

  • Hmm, how do you get the TopCashback cashback? I can't find this price when I go through TopCashback's link :(

    • +1

      Search for 1005009176266173

      • Awesome, cheers!

    What does +10gb RAM mean?

    • +5

You can use the SSD as RAM which is normally worse as the SSD on cheap models are slow.

It's 6GB which is ok for a cheapie.

  • Can I connect this to a tv’s hdmi port to play streamed video like Netflix and prime?

    • No, you need to get Chromecast or Amazon fire stick for that

      • Or use your phone, if your phone supports it (e.g. Dex from Samsung)

    • I meant using the usb c DP port and connecting it to the tv via a usb c to hdmi adapter?

  • +2

Use this as a tablet for home assistant dashboard display

    • Do you automate the power to keep the battery between 20-80%?

  • I ordered it with last deal and had to return it today. I had some software issue, that randomly was throwing square blocks on screen and after reflashing it was still same. When i contacted them they said maybe i can get it fixed locally and they would give me money for it haha. Otherwise was good tablet.

    • How to reflashing?

      • just reflashed same rom what i had there, but that didnt help

        • Where did you get the rom? Or maybe factory reset?

  • Any feedback from those who already owned one? How is the build quality

    • +2

Build is good but slow sometimes. Display port mode works. Slow charging. No fingerprint or double tap to wake up.

      • Damn, sounds like the Blackview tablet then. Was looking to replace it

      • When you say Display Port works, can you confirm it can use a usb c to hdmi converter and play Netflix etc on a tv? If so, can you suggest a converter that works? Thanks.

  • +2

Reckon it's fast enough for me to wall mount it and use as home assistant dashboard? :)
Last Chinese tablet I bought was so slow it couldn't even open the app properly so I refunded it..

    • +1

I've just set it up and seems snappy enough for a dashboard.

  • Can this be used as a monitor for reolink doorbell? Plz suggest..!

    • Why wouldn't it. Either the reolink android app, or integrated into home assistant dashboard

      • Thank you very much.

  • Any good deals on 7"-8" tablets? Good for kids YT and light gaming?

    • -1

      Second

    • Been waiting on @clear to post one of the previous alldocube 60/70 mini pro/turbo deals again.

  • What is the battery life when unused? I found some android device only last for 2days and have to charge.

Any cheap AM/OLED suggestions for late night viewing?

  • Could anyone kindly advise me on how to combine the 12% cashback offered by TopCashback with the 5% shopping credit available through Team OzBargain (AliExpress.com)?

To ensure I receive the full 12% cashback from TopCashback, should I avoid opening any links other than the official AliExpress link provided on their website? Is there a code I can use for Team OzBargain too get additional 5%?

Thank you very much for your assistance!

    Any good 14" tablets?

  • Is free returns on Aliexpress from this seller safe? I bought one on behalf of an elderly neighbour who changed her mind about wanting it. Lesson learnt there.

Still within the free return window but contemplating selling locally (probably at a loss). Thoughts / experiences?

  • How does the team ozbargain works?
I've joined in and bought some items then how to redeem it?

  • +1

    Set mine up today.

The 1280x800 is hard to look at for my eyes but it will be perfectly fine for the kids.

I didn't get a case for it but it comes with screen protector applied.

Once the kids grows out of it I'll repurpose it for a home assistant dashboard

  • anyone having issue running Chatgpt on this device ? I got playstore integrity error
