It's on again. Same as this deal from a couple of months back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/909610

I'm not sure what vouchers Samsung chat are currently offering, but it would be worth asking. It was possible to get the price as low as $349 with vouchers last time.

The Tab S9 has an 11" AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and comes with an s-pen.

This price is for the 128/8GB wifi version. Remember that you need a trade in device to get the $300 trade in bonus. The final price (without additional vouchers) will be $499 minus the value of your trade in device.

              • @jimojr: The tab S10ultra is really tempting for its thin bezels and more future proofing but Sheesh it's big, on the fence rn due to its size.

@asdaf1118: I bought it. Used it for a few days and then sold mine before "downgrading" to the s9. The big screen of the s10u is really nice however it was simply too big to carry or move around for me.

Edit: the s9 is also half the price and to me the s10u isn't 2x better imo

              • @jimojr: Really weird. I left my cart open from last night, and just spotted that it now shows with the "$300 bonus + Trade-In device value has been applied. Ends 14 Aug" 10% discount applied! message without me doing anything. Total price $444.60 as includes $5 trade-in and 10% discount code…
Not complaining especially as I already cancelled my $5 trade in with Asurian this morning after being told by CS the deal had expired and that there was nothing they could do to assist.. Already received the $5 refund. Samsung and their CS team really ought to know what is going on as have wasted a lot of time chasing it.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent case for the S9, my S9 arrived today, order on Sunday night

  • Thanks OP. Got it for $440 with a $10 trade in. $21 Cashrewards also racked, not sure if it'll get payed out.

    • Unlikely as Cashback is ineligible for Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site, including but not limited to employee discounts, student discounts and price-matching.

  • I would like to purchase it but I do not have a trade in device. Any recommendations/ hacks for this deal?
What would be the best price this can be redeemed for? Thanks in advance :)

    • One potential way, but may cost $508?

Select a low end device from trade in, eg. Samsung phone to get a $5 trade in. Adjust screen condition to damaged to reduce to $1 value. For IMEI, use a online generator. This will then get you the $300 bonus.
In advance ask via Samsung Chat for a 10% discount code which can also be applied.
      Would end up around $448+/-.

As per T&Cs you could however be up for a late return fee of "up to" $60, if trade-in device is not returned. Potential end cost $508+/- .

    • Just pick a low value trade in watch. Don't send anything in. You'll get charged a $30 fee but will still get the deal.

      • What if you send a broken smartphone (or an older dead samsung s2-s8) thats valued less than $30?

        • You can't trade in phones that old. A S8 might be a valid trade, but certainly no older.

        • As per my note above, select a low end device from trade-in ie. there is a dropdown list provided by them.
Broken won't be accepted for the most part but you can adjust condition to see what changes from ok to non-tradable.Take a look at what they offer (accept) from the list as a guideline.

          • @Borg: I know that (the s8 is the oldest they go). I just previously saw a comment where someone traded in their broken headphones (not on the list) instead of their galaxy watch. They avoided the $30-60 fee this way.

            • @Bk210: Yeah, past deals where headphones used to be included, I've traded those.
Perhaps PM the person asking how they did it with this deal and report back.

  • Not important just a discussion comment thread

How many Android OS upgrades does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series receive (up to Android 17)?

Given that Galaxy S phones now get 7 years of OS updates, is there any plan for similar long-term support for Samsung tablets?

Also, once official OS support ends for the Tab S9, what are the best ways to continue getting the latest Android features or updates in the long run (custom ROMs)?

Interested to hear your thoughts 💭

If you really want not Android updates once official support ends, customs roms will be your only option. But honestly, it'll work fine for years on its last official update.

  • $341 with 10% discount code.

  • Why did the mods marked it expired before it was?

Now out of stock as they dropped it a further $100 and other post listed on Ozb would have created a mad rush at such a great deal.
