Best Meal Delivery Service in Australia?

Hi everyone, wanting to hop on the meal delivery service for my meals in preparation for my wedding early next year.

I'm a shift worker and my hours differ from week to week, with overnights included. Coupled with my regular fitness I would like to think these would help with my prep.

Looking for people's opinions and views. After value for money and would appreciate any advice.

Based in Melbourne.

Thanks in advance!

My parents rotate between YouFoodz and Lite n Easy. By the time one with a promo comes to an end, they get an email or text with a new offer from the other. They also then rotate between their accounts in their own names.

They did it (and still are) leading up to my sister weddings to drop the weight. Also, they found they saved money and had to do no cooking. It was cheaper for the two of them to have the ready meals than to do shopping, prepare and cook meals.

I’ve heard really good things about The Dinner Ladies. I’ve never actually seen any advertising for them either, everything is word of mouth, which is saying something.

      The menu looks awesome

      • The taste isn't great though.

        • Doh

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Depends on the meal.

eg. their lasagne is pretty much the best I've had from a similar service. But their Pasta with Italian sausage has left my rotation.

            • @Morien: Does anyone really ever take the Italian sausage out of their rotation..?

            • @Morien: Agreed their lasagne was top notch.
Their mashed potato is really nice as a side dish, and I loved the Boscaiola sauce

    Dinner Ladies is great, yes.

    • My family of 6 were very disappointed in the quality of their meals.

      • Interesting, we found them to be very high quality in Brisbane

Have you had a look on Cookaborough.com.au? We've tried multiple Melbourne providers and they've been SO much tastier.

          • @Kategs: We haven't - thanks for the recommendation.

            • @theguyrules: As someone who loathes cooking, I've found it life changing! There is so much choice and plenty to keep my foodie husband, 3 teenagers and 10 year old happy.

          • @Kategs: Oh sweet thanks for the suggestion, will have a look

        • Same here - big fans as they have minimal crap added and decent ingredients

Had to read that a few times before I realised you weren't planning to serve people Hello Fresh for your wedding

    • Took me a while why their night shift work has anything to do with their wedding but i think they are saying they want to start easting healthy to lose weight for the wedding.

Yeah sounds like they want to cut back on defaulting to a drive through before heading to bed and having meals in the fridge at home instead that don’t require a heap of cooking and usually just oven or microwave cook!

  • The one where you go to the destination and get it yourself.

The one where the Mrs delivers it to the dining table at just the right time every day.

Edit: just reread it and realised you're not married yet. Is Mum a good cook?

    • Yes this. Overfeeding is a perfectly legal way to remove lazy Misters.

Have a look on Cookaborough.com.au. It's an online platform where lots of smaller meal providers sell their offerings. I've tried the Dinner Ladies and my family found all their dishes to be very mediocre. I'm in Melbourne and there are lots of really good quality providers on Cookaborough.

  • i use
    hellofresh
    marley spoon
    dinnerly
    quitelike

only with discounts never full price

    • I dont think any of those are meal deliveries, they are recipe kits.
