should give us $10 for attending, better footy for free at local grounds

    • Haha, it used to be free in 2020!

    • +3

How many AFLW games have you been to and which local footy do you attend? Genuinely curious.

      • +5

Have been to 2 aflw games with my sis from Sydney, totally boring affairs.
I attend local games about once a month in footscray to werribee region

        • -4

          Explains a lot

        • -1

So you mean, like the 2nd tier AFL teams. VFL? like the Werribee tigers etc? Or which league do you mean?

  • +6

I wonder how long until the WNBA recent trend hits the AFLW.

    • +1

      What trend was that?

      • -2

Same pay and expectations from men’s sports

        • -1

sigh. "same" pay has never been the ask.

the trend is that WNBA interest has blown up in the last 2 years.
more girls are playing aussie rules longer now bercause there is a legit pathway. the quality will improve, and when there is an eventual phenom that comes through who can kick goals from 50 or take genuine screamers the interest will grow again.

the throwing of a certain object on court.

I’m surprised this pathetic country hasn’t adopted it already

$10 tickets to all matches throughout the 2025 NAB AFLW Home and Away season

    Why so cheap?
And what if you prefer Neighbours?

    • +4

      jv alt?

      • -4

That's a fine compliment, but no.

  • -3

Think they need to pay people to attend these things as well as the cost of a feed. Even then it might not be worth it.

    Should be a cracking season

        Ironic comment given your username.

Women's Gridiron does it and with great success too

        • +4

"great success" is one single season played since 2019? And that's after completely dropping the lingerie bit. You have a pretty low bar of winning mate.

    • +3

People might pay more than $10 per ticket too.

  • +6

Good to see the OzB incel brigade making themselves known on this one. Soooo edgy.

  • +3

Adult tickets are only $15 and under 18 are free, so not a huge bargain but better than nothing.

  • +2

should be free to bring interest to the game.

  • +5

AFLW is important for junior growth but they did everything on the basis of: build it and they will come. It was the wrong approach.

They built it and started to expand it far too quickly without the talent pool to support it.

It won't be forever and there is genuine talent lying in wait at the junior levels, but right now AFLW is truly shit to watch.

    • +2

      100%
Should of left it as 10 teams for at least 10 years. Let the talent grow and not rely just 1 superstar player per team.

      • +1

They should have done what Big Bash did. Throw out the legacy team names and start again. Be smaller in some states and bigger in others. Having 10 AFLW teams in Vic is just so stupid.

I can see the thinking of each AFL team having an AFLW team. But they went with an MBA brain of thinking they could latch on to the passion of the AFL team fans. It was never going to happen. The AFL Administration does not understand what makes fans tick.

Only needed to look at the West Coast Eagles team in the WA Football League to see that fan passion is far deeper than a name an colours. That isn't what gives people the connection to their clubs.

  • You can get a family pass 2 adults 2 kids for $20 also

    • -2

      $20 too much.

  • +3

I think it’s a no brainer to put the AFLW game immediately before the men’s game. Match the sides up and open the gates early
