[NSW] Half Price Omega & Longines Watches (De Ville Co-Axial for $3999.99) @ Costco, Marsden Park (Membership Req)

2810

Something nice for the horology enthusiasts. Costco Marsden Park have marked down the price of some Longines and Omega watches to half price or less. Costco already priced these cheaper than ADs, and now it's even cheaper. Notable mentions:

  • Omega De Ville co-axial $3999.99. (down from $7999.99)
  • Longines Pulsemeter Chrono $2999.99 (down from $5999.99)
  • Longines Conquest chrono VHP $1499.99 (down from $3199.99)
  • Longines Record diamond marker $2999.99 (down from $5949.99)
  • Longines Master collection moonphase $1999.99 (down from $4499.99)
  • Longines Master collection small seconds $2499.98 (down from $4999.98)
  • Baume & Mercier Classima $1499.99 (down from $3499.99)
  • Ladies Omega and Longines were half price or less as well, but I don't know too much about the womens models I'm afraid.

Whilst I'm more a GS fan myself, I will still recognise a great deal when I see one, even if it's not my taste. These prices are cheaper than the secondhand market, plus it's from Costco so they are all 100% genuine.

Folks I forgot to mention, these also qualify for the 2% cashback if you have an executive membership.

FAQs:

Why would I pay this much for a non-smartwatch?

Because these watches will not go obsolete in a few years, and can be passed down for generations. Good luck passing down your 20-year old Apple watch to your descendants on your deathbed.

Will these watches make better first impressions in job interviews than a car?

Yes, because you are not doing your job interview in a carpark. So your employer can see your rockin' piece on your wrist during the interview and be impressed.

Can I flex with these watches more than an AMG?

Yes, any person with a full-time job can get an AMG on finance, and once they leave their car they can't flex anymore and become nobody. These watches you need pay the full amount upfront and you can have on you 24/7 and be somebody. Plus unlike a car these watches not a necessity so you can brag to others about how much disposable income you have.

Do these watches come with their respective shopping bags so I can show other people what I bought?

No, but you can help yourself to the hundreds of cardboard boxes Costco keep near the registers. You can even buy a Costco reusable shopping bag to show others you have a Costco membership, which is the ultimate flex.

Are these good investments?

Yes, probably, but I'm not a financial advisor.

Any other Costcos have this sale?

    • +1

Unfortunately I did not ask the associates, so you might need to call the Costco warehouse you want to check.

The moonphase one looks like great value!

    • +2

Yes it's a banger of a deal. It's the bracelet version, $4550 from the Longines AD.

      • +1

Hello could you pls confirm if it was the white dial version or did you have a photo of it?

        • Black dial bracelet version

      • I have this. I found the bracelet incredibly uncomfortable and ended up having to replace the strap cos it kept digging into my wrist in weird ways, or be too loose.
Beautiful watch, I love wearing it

    • +1

Silly question but does it work for the southern hemisphere?

      • +2

Wear your watch up side down, it should be fine… if you care that much about the moon phrase rather than time..

        • Yeh I don't haha

      • I don't think it really matters

        • +1

It's a thing, look it up.
It would matter if you're spending big coin on an automatic with those complications.

          • @G-rig: Does it depend on the watch.. as that's really weird. My panolunar isn't affected by it. Normally adjust the date to the last full moon lunar phase and adjust the date to align them move the date to the current date and it should auto align

    • 10 of which one?

      • Channel 10.

    • Did you have to pay cash?

I wear an Omega but my wife still prefers her boyfriend's Swatch.

    • -2

      Username checks out

    • Maybe you could take your wife to a Rolex AD for a chance to try one on?

      • +3

So she can meet another boyfriend? I can only afford to feed one sir.

    • my wife still prefers her boyfriend's Swatch.

  • +1

Some goooood watches here. Crazy deals.

    • Trump has a 39% tariff on Swiss goods and as a result you get a price cut.
There is plenty of margin in a Swiss made watch.

      • Not sure they would be implemented yet, probably just clearing old stock of the not so popular models.

Aus could just import directly from Switzerland but no doubt would still be a rip off.

  • +1

Did they have anyother colours for the Omega?

    • +1

Sorry I did not get to ask an associate about it. Too busy taking pictures.

  • Wow…amazing deal

  • Jesus. Thats a deal and a half

  • +10

    Are these good investments?

As a general rule, any watch you can get your hands on without offering your wife to the AD first shouldn't be considered an investment.

  • +1

Is there a half price snoopy?

    • No, did not see any Speedmasters.

      • I don't think I've ever seen any variants of Speedmasters at Costco before. Not even the reduced.

        • +2

Speedmaster reduced hasn’t been in production for 15 years so you won’t be finding that anywhere but the second hand market

        • Omega Speedmaster Reduced models were first made in 1988 and produced until 2009 or 2010.

I'd be 1000% sure you wouldn't have seen one haha

  • notice any legend divers?

    • Only diver I spotted there was an Oris, but it was not half price.

Wonder if I should upgrade from my Casio?

    • +12

Nah mate, Casio is still god-tier. Any genuine watch enthusiast will tell you that. I still wear my A168 & calculator watch on some days.

      • +1

        Casio is god tier

Wonder if I should downgrade from my Casio?

      FTFY

None of the models on this list beat a good Casio.

  • Any solar power watch?

    • Only Coutura and a Casioak from what I remember.

      • Citizen Eco-drive and Seiko Astron are another couple I know of.

  • +2

The Master collection with the arabic numerals looks so good. This is what I would've spent my tax return on… if I had one and not a debt.

    • Yes it was the white dial version. Mighty fine looking watch.

  • +3

It's the same at Costco Epping (VIC). I've seen them yesterday. Stock very limited tho.

  • The Longines Conquest Chrono VHP for that price, brand new is insane. That's what it usually sells for on the 2nd hand market.

Well actually the same could be said for all of those.. what an insane bargain. Could even flip it on Chrono24 to be honest, would just need to be patient.

      • +5

By that logic, I am hoping majority of your stuff came from Kmart. Why pay $30 for a Havaianas when Kmart thongs are $1.50?

You're simply not the target market.

        • -1

Why pay $30 for a Havaianas when Kmart thongs are $1.50?

Not a great analogy since Havis are overpriced shit. Get yourself a pair of Archies and you'll learn why this is.

      • Insane is paying any more that $5 for a watch.

Typed on my 2k apple iphone
$1369 is fine for a GFX card and no nerd bats an eyelid 🤣

        @Haunt

Got a link for the exact one? A lot of Longines seem to be 41 - 43mm on the website.

A nice 39mm hydroconquest or conquest would be nice. Would look at those if they were half price.
They've stopped making some of the VHP models but I like the idea of them.

    • If was a Costco member, and had a Costco nearby, I'd be first in line to see if that had any of the VHPs.

  • +1

Can Costco order in Omega Seamasters?

    • Hey Costco can you order in a seamaster for me so I can pay 6k for it? Cheers

      • If they are an AD of sorts I wouldn’t think ordering in particular watches would be out of the question. I guess Omega probably only supply certain references to them but thought I may as well ask

    • +3

Doubt it, they aren’t ADs, Omega treat Costco sales are a grey market sale, we actually asked Omega ages ago …

  • -2

All low tier watches, not worth the hassle

    • +3

Why the neg? It's a valid point. They got me excited for meh watches.

  • Lol mentioned it an hour before this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16802379/redir was put up. But seems discounted further today then yesterday. As the DeVille was $4999 yesterday

  • I would get if there’s a semester.
Would be good if they can get GS.

    • There are usually a few semesters

      • I guess it really depends on which degree you're looking to enrol into.

  • Any more photos mate? Thank you.

    • +11

Got a few more yeah. Didn't take any pictures of the ladies Omegas and Longines though.

      • Hey @Erkel thanks for tge share, do you if the Longines Master moonphase was the chrono and day/date version?

  • +1

Speaking of GS, Anyone selling a sbgx261? 😆

    • No but I got an AP Royal oak for sale. Genuine copy straight from Bangkok mbk

      • You'd be better off buying something from AliExpress, i be surprised if it would be reliable or last but who knows.

  • Surprised no one has smentioned the Swiss watch scandal. Made in China folks. Sorry to burst your bubble

    • +1

      Do tell

      • -5

During the Trump tariff debacle chinese factories exposed all the brands that they were making goods for.
Among luxury clothing and handbag brands, Chinese factories were also producing Rolex and Omega watches.

Havent followed the outcome but at the time Rolex were looking to reimburse customers

        • +1

It's not really a scandal if you can read, Swiss watch making standards are published and available publicly - this includes what is required to be able to label your watch "Swiss made."

        • Source on the Rolex claim?
It has for a while been well understood that some brands producing "Swiss made" watches do have some manufacturing done in China.
However, I do not believe Rolex is one of these brands. Some Swiss brands are actually 100% (or close enough) Swiss made.

          • @O15: My Speedy box was stamped, made in China.

I have also seen Speedy bracelet clasp as made in Thailand. Swiss made at this stage is just as illusion.

            • +1

@t25: Maybe for some watches, but certainly not all.

Swiss made designation is 60% of the watch made/built in Switzerland. Bands/Clasps may not be apart of that but who knows.

Boxes/manuals.. I'd wager most brands are not printing these in Switzerland.

        • +1

I can't find one proper citation of this, apart from some ai slop youtube videos with no sources.

Where does it say Rolex is looking to reimburse customers?

Rolex states on its website the entire watch is made in switzerland - if this was found to not be the case, the brand would be destroyed and would be involved in countless lawsuits for claiming one thing and then selling another.

          • @CarlNotKarl: Just someone being fooled by whatever fake nonsense shows up on their feed.

        • +3

You guys are talking about two different things.

On Swiss Made watches - only 60% of the watch manufacturing cost has to come from Switzerland for it to claim to be Swiss-made. Which means, given that the labour costs in China are lower than in Switzerland, realistically an even larger than 40% portion of the watch would be made in China. This has been well-know for ages, with rumours that even parts of the geartrain in Swiss movements actually comes from China.

On the tariffs thing - there was a recent wave of claims that some luxury goods, like LV/Chanel/Gucci leather handbags were made in China, while claiming to be made in France/Italy. I believe that those claims were unsubstantiated - there were videos of factories in China that were making fakes that were "as good as the real thing". Western YouTubers presented them as if those factories were actually manufacturing the goods sold by LV/Chanel/Gucci/etc.

It also wasn't exactly "exposed by tariffs" - that claim would lead you to believe that those luxury brands declared their goods as "Made in China", and that's how their true country of origin was revealed, but I haven't seen any evidence of this. In reality, I think the tariffs simply put more pressure on Chinese factories to increase their marketing efforts, which lead to them claiming that their fakes are the real deal, and can be bought for much cheaper than through official channels.

        • chinese factories exposed

You bought into the Clickbait. None of this is new information

          Havent followed the outcome

Of course you haven't. You bought into a headline, got angry then moved on to the next rage bait headline. You are the perfect consumer.
As another poster points out, Swiss watch making standards are published. The only 'expose' if that that you didn't know them until now.

          • -6

@1st-Amendment: Ok mate. Be happy with your expensive man jewellery and move on.

            • @slickb: They aren't made in China.. certain components such as screws or cuttings of cogs etc are manufactured to the standard the companies want but are sourced from China for obvious reasons. But assembled and built in Switzerland. The combining of all these metals to make the movement is in Switzerland.. it's very different to say they are made in China.
Just to provide context to your stories.

Let's say for example Toyota cars are built with a whole heap of parts that are aligned Toyotas standards. They are put together in Toyota japan and designed by Toyota but are most likely made in China however combined they are Japanese made as the concepts and the working standards are needing to meet Toyotas QA

            • @slickb:

              move on.

              Lol, self awareness = zero…

Rage on! There's headlines to get angry at!

    • +1

      H. Moser (and a few other brands) have actually removed the ‘Swiss made’ from their dials in response to the direction the Industry has taken.

They are fully integrated and make all parts of the watch including the more unique components like the hairsprings (or directly own the manufacturers that make some parts of the watch in Switzerland).

I’ve had plenty of Swiss watches, the including two Moser’s (still have one) and they are definitely my favourite but a very niche product.

      • Those “Apple” Watches they made were hilarious.

        • Did you see their original video about one of their SIHH releases? It was pretty accurate but unfortunately they succumbed to pressure and dropped the watch entirely.

          See here

  • +1

Very good education now I know why I failed interviews and seen as a cheap skate with an Apple watch.
