Classic marshmallow. Stupid comment, stupid neg vote.

On first glance, it looks like the Sony xm6

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/sony-wh-1000xm6-premium-n…

    • Does look quite similar. Not quite the quality.
However I do have a couple of these from the previous deal posted.
Must say quite value for money at this price point and not bad at all. ANC is fine too and also comfortable to wear. My kids use it too. Only issue I can think of is the placement of the controls but doesn’t bother me as I just use once set then forget setting.
Would recommend the purchase for the price it is.

  • How comfortable are these? I always sleep with my Bose QC45 on, playing rain sounds (I live right along a main road so random horns and late night hooning wakes me up), my Edifier WH700NB are too tight so I decided to use my Bose which are more comfortable. However, i'm afraid one night i'll squish them and snap them off so if these are comfortable I might use this just for sleeping

    • I salute you. I use my in ear ones sometimes just to tune out the ambient noise but once I fall asleep, they usually fall off somewhere and I put them together in the morning again. I twist and turn a few times and a headphone llthat size would never work for me so I don't know how you do it all night.

Believe it or not, my body actually adapted to this behaviour and would automatically remove the headset 2-3 hours in my sleep. I actually think it's because I want to sleep on my side or twist and turn as you mentioned or when it feels too hot on the ears already, and when I don't, I wake up with the headphones still on. Sometimes I will remember myself doing it when I wake up, but nowadays most of the time I don't remember it anymore, I just wake up and my headphones are on the side of my pillow.

I also tried using my AirPods 4 ANC but the headphones worked best for me.

    • Wearing these Otto headphones while lying down on a bed triggers the touch controls for me, touch controls seem to get triggered by slight pressure about blankets, linen, pillow. For $17, cannot complain too much

      • Thank you for your feedback, I guess it's a big no for me then. Wouldn't want it to pause my rain sounds in the middle of my sleep or worse randomly turn the volume all the way through!

    • I used to do this, but switched to a sleeping mask with headphones embedded. Life changing. Cant sleep without them now

Not good, got for kids and checked first, glad I did, awkward controls and not very loud so did not give to kids, would be more trouble than it’s worth, will be checking out Aldi soon https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/918902, just my opinion

Bought one during last deal. ANC was faulty—the unit started juddering whenever ANC was turned on. Was uncomfortable too, and sound was tinny, so was happy to have a good reason to return.

Expect to get what you pay for.

Bought one in the last round. It's surprising what you can get for the price but it's not good sounding by any stretch. Did a full review and teardown:

Awesome write up. Saved me 3 x $18 and my kids heads from trying to fit these

      Honestly a great review. 👍

thanks just got around to checking out your review. headband looks decently thick and comfortable, something I didn't catch from OW page.
one downside, those wrinkly pads tell me not great things. over the entire time of using budget headphones, nearly every single pair with wrinkly pads like that had peeling happen within a year. I could be wrong, but that's just my experience.

"$17 doesn’t get you much – perhaps a decent lunch combo that has all the lasting power of just a few hours,"

sounds like something I would think/say. your a real one for that. saving money has never been my strength so I literally calculate stuff like this in my head now all the time. also for more expensive stuff, initial price/years of function and use.

quite a few negative opinions this time round. so thought I'd share some of the comment I read last time it was posted.

Comment Honestly, just got these home and sound quality is decent. Bit heavy on the bass, ANC doesnt seem to make any difference so might as well leave it off for extra battery life.

Otherwise headphone is comfortable and bluetooth range is decent. Sound quality on high frequency is a bit lacking but mid range is not bad. Have definitely heard worse on more expensive headphones.

1 reply Only 25 dB. Can't expect much for this price + local stock.

both comments seem like honest and level headed opinion to me. not like "I'm experiencing things i never knew existed".

just fyi I considered getting them because of the comments above. but didn't end up buying and decided to save $17 towards other stuff instead.

I use these with iPad. Latency is very good for gaming. I play cod mobile mostly. Sound quality is not great for music and bass lovers but it’s decent for listening stuff etc.

ANC is useless. If you don’t have headphone on the right spot, you can hear the judder sounds. But I was not expecting to get anc from 17 dollar headphones. Worst thing for me are the touch controls on them. I touch them by mistake over 10 times a day.

For anyone who may not be sure about these, but still want something cheap, I bought these Doqaus over ear Blutooth headphones a few days ago from Amazon and found them to be quite good for such a cheap pair and my use case (just needed something to listen to YouTube on my phone):

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C281QBFD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_f…

I paid $28 because there was a $5 coupon, not sure if this is still available or not, it's probably a Prime membership thing, so maybe some of you would be lucky and get the coupon offer too?

They have 90 Hours battery life and a built in mic, for taking calls and a 3.5mm cabled option.

The Reviews on Amazon are positive and I found some favourable reviews on YouTube and decided to give them ago. Especially when a cheap pair of Apple ear buds that I was also thinking about, are around $20, so I figured these would have to be much better overall and only cost me $8 more 👍

This guy goes into quite a lot of depth in the review I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls78Wn-Qqms&t=201s&ab_channe…

    • There is a 15% coupon for the brand which makes them about 28.

      • Ah, that's good to know, thanks for mentioning this. 👍 IMO they are a bargain at that price and I'm very pleased with mine.

it's ok, but the control is terrible

  • Bought these recently and will be returning them. Feels like they're made for a child sized head, very uncomfortable. Sound quality isn't great, but to be expected at this price.

  • I went through 3 of these last time, each one had a problem, luckily I tried the last two in store.

  • My experience> Pairing controls are hard
Once paired then no issues, but if you want to switch device then it will be hard.
Only buy them if you plan to use with one paired item.

  • bought for wife read comments after
    at least colour not terrible
also no 3.5mm so need a seperate bluetooth transmitter if want to try to use on a plane

  • These are good for primary school kids for ipads, tv, gaming etc. Not for anything requiring proper audio like music or phone calls

  • For anyone who lives in Sydney, Officeworks Taren Point is selling $5 for all three colours. Grabed one on Saturday.

  • I bought one, used for gym, doesn't really care for the sweat it bears for its price. I do see many fancy ones in gyms too.
