Offer available across the C10 EV range. Up to $7,000 off on MY24 models, and up to $4,000 off on MY25 models.

Quite a lot of car for the money although it's been a slow seller and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto are missing.

PS should stack with $2,500 bonus offer for Costco Members

Mod note: Do not subtract $7,000 factory bonuses from MY24 C10 BEV Design $51,500 driveaway price and pretend you only need to pay $44,500 and drive away. The $7,000 bonus is NOT REDEEMABLE FOR CASH.

Title price revised.

Factory Bonus offer available on new and demonstrator Leapmotor C10 BEV and C10 REEV purchased and delivered between 1 August 2025 and 30 September 2025 or while stock lasts. Feels like a risk buying one of these, doesn't seem like Leapmotor will be around long unlike BYD, Geely, GWM, Chery

    • +17

Done my research on this and can confirm. Stellantis is a problem. They are selling very poorly compared to these other brands.

      • -4

Stellantis only owns 20% of Leapmotor (ie, not a controlling stake). It absolutely isn’t the problem.

        • +14

Stellantis owns 51% of Leapmotor International which will cause a problem

      • +1

just the fact that they're still trying to move MY24 models when most brands are now delivering MY26 models… wow.

        • pretty common - just needs to be at the right price
if it were below 40k, might be worth considering

        • -2

          are now delivering MY26 models

          In August 2025 ???

          Sounds very fishy.

          Why not MY28 then …

          • @LFO: The model year (sometimes abbreviated as MY) is a method of describing the version of a product which has been produced over multiple years. The model year may or may not be the same as the calendar year in which the product was manufactured.

The new model year typically begins in August to September of the preceding calendar year.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_year

            • @loksmack: So MYxx is virtually useless to assess how old/new a vehicle is.

Funny thing the dealership (another brand of course) told me otherwise. Even referring to MYxx.z for midyear updates.

Also interesting when in January/February some dealerships offer discount in MYprevious_year models.

Something doesn't stack up well here …

              • @LFO: Totally agree. I hate it too. It’s even less useful for manufacturers like Tesla who make updates randomly throughout the year.

In my experience, it’s often used on the used car market to make a car seem a year newer than it is. Eg a car purchased in 2016 will be advertised as a 2017 model. Just confusing.

    • +4

Agree. Last month sales were dismal, despite the sharp pricing.

Definitely has that Stellantis stink about them.

    • +14

This comment needs an upvote, I could not agree more! Stellantis is the problem here, along with no Android Auto / Carplay which is insane in 2025…

          • +3

            @madbison: Whinge and moan apparently.

          • -1

@madbison: Are you sure that they aren't down voting you for making an irrelevant comment? Wouldn't only Tesla's have that os and thus irrelevant to a discussion of what the car has?

            • +1

@f23lda: Everyone complains if Android Auto auto isn't included.

My argument is that Android Auto is not a selling point. It's a crap solution that's built towards a UI that old people can use.

It's laggy, and offers nothing to people except Waze and Spotify basically

        • -1

Personally if Tesla enabled android auto I'd start using it immediately and never look back. Tesla OS is horrid, the UX is rubbish, it's like they let a coder pick fonts at times.

          • @CharlieAus: It's definitely designed for lhd vehicles, but the responsiveness will always beat Android Auto.

    • +3

Maybe, but there is a risk with most of these Chinese brands. I don't think it's isolated to Leapmotor. There are too many brands in Aus to be viable long term.

My folks bought a BEV C10 on the Gold Coast while we were up there visiting family and holidaying so I drove it back to Melbourne with dad instead of flying. The GC dealer had a bunch of demo Design trim (top trim) that we got for $39.5k before on roads, came to $42k after paying stamp duty and rego in VIC and the unreg permit from QLD. It's our family's first EV and a big reason they bought it is because of the back seat room and extra big boot compared to a Geely EX5 or MG S5. They need the space to take my grandmother and a wheelchair plus walker to appointments. BTW, the MG felt tinny and built to a price compared to the C10 that feels extremely solid and well built.

It isn't a very dynamic drive and the bings and bongs are annoying. You can turn the worst ones off reasonably easily but the lane keeping and warning is badly tuned and hidden away in a few sub menus. The worst part is the ACC which phantom brakes when overtaking trucks both rigid and combination so hard that anyone behind could rear end us if not taking manual control of the throttle pedal. I don't think it has a typical radar system for the ACC and relies on the cameras instead. There is no "normal" cruise control. All this and other smaller bug bears could be fixed in OTA updates if they pursue it. They have released a new update in some European countries to address many issues on top of the last update in July. I believe this new update also brings ACP and AA. I bought a $70 dongle off of Amazon so we already have it and it works well both wired and wireless.

While I am not keen on being a guinea pig for manufacturers, the price and size/features cannot be argued with, especially for the price we paid.

And a warning: don't go to the Brisbane dealer unless you want to be harassed for weeks after you leave. They have a high pressure sales team who will pursue you relentlessly!

    • +1

      Yeah, it’s quite a leap.

  • +16

Test drove one and between the lack of features and lack of knowledge from the salesperson, I ran as fast as I could

    • +1

      How did it drive?

Which features did you find lacking?

      • +5

Seats were a bit too flat. Very placid driving and handling. No firm ETA on Apple carplay was a killer too

    • +4

I’ve never heard of salesman knowledge as a key criteria to buying a car….but horses for courses.

      • -3

If they can't go to the effort of selling you the car properly… How are they supposed to keep it working in 5-10 years? I wouldn't trust any Chinese manufacturer other than maybe BYD because of this. It's the same reason I don't trust crappy European manufacturers either.

        • +15

You do realise the people selling the car are completely unrelated to the people who design the car and also unrelated to those who manufacture the car.

For example, Tesla has over 100,000 employees, and a great many thousand sales. If you hit a bad salesman, it doesn’t change the car, nor does meeting an awesome Tesla salesman change the car. Hence why, I said, the salesmen knowledge is low on my car buying criteria.

          • @cloudy: They can’t take 3 seconds to read the brochure and memorise features?

            • @smartazz104: May be they are preparing for interviews with other EV brands by memorising their manual?

        • +2

I test drove the EV5 previously and the Kia salesmen didn't know it was an EV, was asking me about when the EV3 was coming

      • +2

They had no idea of the key features of the car or continually incorrectly quoted features. After 3 in a row, I lost interest in their "network".

  • +4

There was a demo going for $34888 driveaway in WA. I didn't bother go look at it (it was just down the road from Geely) as I'm not confident they will be around at the end of battery warranty.

In the meantime companies like Geely are launching their own satellites to help their cars.

    • +3

But still haven't got Apple car play / Android auto working on their launch car.
      Go figure.

    • +3

Majority of people think having their car connected is a good thing. I'm going to happily stay in the "crazy" minority thanks. You made me look up satellite constellations… 22 planned with 554519 satellites. LEO is going to be thick with satellites. https://planet4589.org/space/con/conlist.html

  • +3

This looks stackable with the $2500 discount for Costco members as well

    • Good one! I will add to description

      • "Plus, Executive Members get to enjoy an additional perk!

Receive a $250 Costco Shop Card with this offer"

Must be an Executive Member or upgrade your membership to Executive before taking delivery, If eligible, the Costco Shop Card is emailed to you from 'Costco Services' 60 days after delivery by the end of that month.

  • I saw this at the recent EV car show, looks quite good!

  • +7

Partnering with Stellantis and lack of Android Auto/Carplay has destroyed this brand in Aus.

I'd be shocked if they survive..

Disappointed as I really like the look and specs of the 6 seater C16

    • I would've given this car a serious look, but the lack of Android Auto / Carplay was just a non-starter for me. I don't trust these guys enough to support the platform into the future. Even on a Tesla i would've been bummed, and almost let it go, but then I saw the Zeerk 7x and opted for that instead. Android Auto / Apple among a few other features.

    • Tesla is also a cheap CCP-built EV but it's selling like a hot cake

      • -2

like hot cakes not a hot cake.

OzB fanbois don't like Tesla because Elon=Goebbels

  • +2

owner of the REEV model of this vehicle, from what I read on forums the phone mirroring should come via an OTA update this month. People from other RHD countries have slowly been getting them, not yet for Australia but I'm anticipating anyday this month. The update should also help with less bings and bongs that this car is renowned for. There is also an aftermarket USB dongle that one could get on Amazon to remedy that lack of AA/AC issue.

    • So how has the REEV been in general? Its such a cool tech.

And specifically, I read that suspension tuning was done at Maserati. How good is it?

    • the pity is mutual

    • +2

Ozbargain needs to bring laugh smiley reactions so we can use it on comments like these!

      • agreed we need emojis - the +/- is inadequate to appropriately react to these posts

        • -4

          +/- is perfect.

          You people are scrubs.

      • Give me one clown face to use per day.

  • These are pretty horrible inside. Think very early 2000’s Hyundai.

    • +3

      Pretty ugly outside too imo

      • +2

This was one of the EVs that initially took my fancy. Probably because of the green paint option. In real life it’s very unimpressive. Probably the first Chinese brand to leave Australia id guess.

        • +1

it's a sea of grey navy black white. xpeng at least has fluoro orange but it's a bit too loud

        • The green is great! Wish more people would go for something with a bit of interest.

          • +1

@Seaword: Seems a lot of the orders for the new Zeekr 7X are the green

        • Agree that the green is stunning, particularly with the brighter interior leather option.

  • -1

I actually thought this was an expensive ride-on mower 😂

  • +3

We test drove this and the staff were absolutely desperate to sell. They offered a $6000 discount unasked plus every free extra imaginable including a 7kw charger. Wouldn't leave me alone for 2 weeks until I told them No for the tenth time.

    • +4

They just wanted to know what it would feel like to sell a car for the first time.

  • -7

    Stop buying chinese cars

    • -4

      this

    • +7

23% already are chinese, and will keep rising. get the tissues already

      • -5

        Shows how stupid people are

        • +4

          yelling at clouds?

    • Which particular nation should we buy a car from?

  • So does that mean the cars listed at $44,500 Driveway in existing inventory with the factory bonus are now $37,500?

    • +1

I doubt it but worth asking… BEW should stack with $2,500 bonus offer for Costco Members

  • -1

Too many Chinese EVs flooding the market. At this stage I prefer to wait ~5 years and see whether EVs/batteries reliability becomes problematic and if charging infrastructure gets better.

    • +9

Plenty of data on EV / battery reliability already. Might as well wait another 30 years to be super sure.

      • -7

        No there isn’t.

        • Have you tried googling Tesla battery reliability data?

          • @Aureus: Define ‘reliability’ for me in the context of EVs/batteries.

            • @W0tZup: Sounds like you are definitely going to need to wait another 30 years.

              • @Aureus: That’s a Red Herring.

                • +3

@W0tZup: No it isn't. I am saying there is plenty of data showing that EV batteries are reliable and you asking me to define reliable.

I can't define what you consider to be reliable, but it seems you are either misinformed about EV battery reliability or you have unrealistic expectations and will need to wait 30 years for tech to catch up. You can already get a cheap EV with a 250,000km battery warranty.

                  • -8

@Aureus: I believe my question was simple (and crucial) but you can’t answer it.

…and yes, your response was a Red Herring, otherwise you would of made an attempt to answer it.

        • +4

There's plenty of data on LFP batteries EV cars can do 3500 cycles at minor degradation (ICE also get less efficient). At 400km that is over 1million KM. The battery will outlast the car…

Just don't go NMC unless U want a sports car

          • -6

@MaxHashrate: LFP can be better than NMC in certain situations but that doesn’t necessarily make it ‘reliable’.

            • @W0tZup: So what's your definition of 'reliable'? that's the issue here…

              • -3

@nomadspartan: And that’s ‘the crux of matter’ isn’t it: What defines ‘EV/battery’ reliability?

It seems others are arguing key parameters of ‘reliability’ rather than a holistic approach. There isn’t ’plenty of data’ (yet) and that’s my argument… yet people are quick to disagree (and downvote) because they’re focusing on certain aspects/parameters (e.g. performance/longevity) and that’s how they define ‘reliability’; which is a flawed stance.

EV technology (battery) is still in its infant stage (holistically speaking) yet the Aus market is being flooded with many EV brands.

            • +1

@W0tZup: why don't you elaborate on what you're really after? it seems pretty clear the evidence so far from older teslas have already answered your concerns?

              • -3

                @nicolascage: Evidence pertaining to what?

As for me elaborating… I will but I’m still waiting on Aureus to answer my question first.

    • -1

I agreed. Another aspect is that reliability whether it'll last for a few more years. If they follow Xiaomi bidet business model when it died after 2 years due to unknown reasons.

      • +3

i'm really struggling to find common ground between a bidet and a car here

        • +2

I think that might be a brand new sentence

  • Honestly ant that price the only thing I would consider a Leapmotor for is to use exclusively as a permanent V2G set up.

    • 50kwh battery is 6k after rebates

      • Huh? Are you doing some weird calc where you claim federal battery rebate on the car? Or are you genuinely saying a 50kw battery system is available somewhere for $6k?

        • look up the neovolt deal. 50kwh for 6.3k

          • @V2L: The last deal from them on OzB was 30kwh for about $6k…
