Not ATL for 9070XT but a potential pricing error and therefore a great price for this model as these are normally $1,399 when in stock.

Sapphire's definitely one of the most, if not the most reputable AMD GPU manufacturer too!

If you're a new customer, I was prompted to sign up and you can get an additional $10 off bringing the price to $1,189 before shipping and surcharges :)

Shipping says $9.95 for standard shipping but found that certain locations I tried here in Victoria bumped it up to $12.99 so price may vary.

Surcharges: 0% direct deposit, 0.8% card, 1% PayPal, 2.2% Zip & Latitude.

When you're so emaciated you can't believe this card can go this price or even lower

    • +2

where can i get it lower?

  • +18

i always find it funny when im paying over 1k for something yet they'll sneak in the $10 shipping because principles

    • +1

Sadly I think the margins are so low even on a $1k card free shipping might actually make them a loss :(

      • +29

        Jensen?

      • +5

if we place marshmallow on a spectrum then this comment is on the other end… oh those poor retailers!

        • +8

lol o no. Get the best bargain you can!
I’m just saying there is sadly no margins left in retail computer hardware.

        • If you want to ignore recent bankruptcies/merges then go on ahead.

  • +1

Thanks OP bought, was looking for two pcie gpu and thought it was a good price for the product.

I think there will be most likely better deals during the afterpay sale but nothing at 1k

  • Only consideration would be if you want duel bios or not i believe

    • +5

Why would I want the bios to duel? Can't they co-exist?

    • +1

      Pistols at dawn?

    • what's the advantage of that?

  • +3

Value king 9070 xt for the price in Australia market, the huge difference between Pure and Pulse is beyond “day” and “night”. I wouldn’t surprise if it’s sold out the first of all 9070 xt cards.

    • +6

If anyone doesn’t believe me, check Hardware Unboxed and many other comparison reviews. Pulse is at bottom 1 of all cards, Pure is at top 3 with high end cards like Nitro+. I have this card for a few months, it’s even better than the reviews.

      • +6

They also said that you can’t really buy a bad one. Some are just better than others

  • +9

Not good enough. Marshmallow can get it for $899 with 18% cashback

    • +1

What are you even talking about? Can I get that in English, please?

      • +9

        me no hablo inglis senor

        • Google es tu compañero. 👍

    • +1

      Nah he'd get a 5090 for 899 with a 5080 thrown in

  • For some reason I thought this was the amd flagship GPU, was tempted to upgrade but after looking on Google the benchmarks suggest that my RX 6950XT is actually better performance than the RX 9070XT. I guess the TDP of the 9070XT is lower so it's more efficient power-use to get similar performance but it's sad to see the only advancement is to offer better FSR upscaling.

    • +3

Yeah for some reason AMD decided not to try take the high end this generation, leaving Nvidia to snap up the whole top end. 9070XT is still much better for raytracing and upscaling.

    • +1

It also has MUCH better ray-tracing capabilities than the 6950XT, while consuming less power overall.

    • +3

I assume you mean 7900 XTX (1 generation old), not 6950 XT (2 generations old)?

The gap was not substantial at launch, and seems to be closing over time: https://www.techspot.com/review/3008-radeon-9070-xt-amd-fine…

(Of course, the point about it not being an "80 series" performance level remains valid)

    • +5

You must be kidding or your data is outdated. 9070 XT is undeniably faster than 6950 XT, in every way.

      • -1

No idea man, I can't find any direct comparisons because of the generation gap and the rarity of the 6950xt but this is the site that came up on Google

        https://technical.city/en/video/Radeon-RX-6950-XT-vs-Radeon-…

        It says

This is how RX 6950 XT and RX 9070 XT compete in popular games:

RX 6950 XT is 2% faster in 1080p
RX 6950 XT is 6% faster in 1440p
RX 6950 XT is 5% faster in 4K
Here's the range of performance differences observed across popular games:

in God of War, with 1080p resolution and the Low Preset, the RX 6950 XT is 41% faster.
in Far Cry 5, with 1080p resolution and the High Preset, the RX 9070 XT is 65% faster.
All in all, in popular games:

RX 6950 XT performs better in 36 tests (58%)
RX 9070 XT performs better in 15 tests (24%)
        there's a draw in 11 tests (18%)

I know if you compare with raytracing enabled the 9070xt would dominate it because they have focused on improving the compute cores chasing nvidia. I assume these benchmarks are with RT disabled.

        • +2

It took me 5 secs to find this. You're welcome.

          • -1

@WayneOZ: I did see that one but as per the comments he's running different software to benchmark so it's not exact comparison.

Although that video shows the 9070xt is more powerful it's kinda sad to see it's only 10-20fps more after 2 generations.

Now begins the wait for sub-1k and I’ll pull the trigger.

  • +1

Y'all have no idea how badly I want to buy this and sell off my 3060ti. new gpu for 900 bucks (once I sell the 3060ti) sounds nice. Maybe I'll keep waiting.

    • Yolo mate. Yolo

  • Just wondering why its not 3 display ports out, just 2 x dp and 2 hdmi

    • +1

It's one of the few Dual HDMI cards - this requires an output stage difference as HDMI also carries audio out processing (sic). This can he helpful for some purposes i.e. Monitor/TV use (sic)

      i.e. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=592&sort=… - for 3 DP, 1 HDMI
      vs https://au.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=592&sort=… - for 2 DP, 2 HDMI ports

      • this requires an output stage difference as HDMI also carries audio out processing (sic)

Are you saying that audio over displayport doesn't apply any processing before output?

I thought it was up to the software if it outputs as processed audio or bitstream.

        • +1

No, in order to have 2 HDMI outputs vs the DisplayPort adapter, the PCB needs HDMI output chips on the board. Normally, most cards prefer DisplayPort or DP as it's cheaper, and DP can be converted to HDMI.

It's more of a first world problem than anything serious - it also usually means the hardware isn't reference - which is only a major issue if you need 3rd party coolers applied.

When you have 2 HDMI's, it adds more expense for 2 reasons, HDMI is licensed, so you have to spend more on the hardware - but also the card's BIOS/driver software.

Each HDMI port needs additional 'pins, connections in windows to send audio to. This is 'created' when you plug the device in, but HDCP can throw a wrench into the audio system if you need HDCP or other HDMI features to work. It's not a DSP problem, or a DAC problem, it's one of software/driver problems. As the HDMI audio device (sic) has to use HDCP and other encryption (loosely) to add HDMI audio and HDMI CEC commands.

If you are sending audio over HDMI to a TV or AV or Soundbar, you may need to enable or disable HDCP - as AMD's HD audio system has similar kinds of problems switching from 2ch to 5.1 - as the 'device' or output has to follow HDMI's audio format(s), including Dolby / DTS formats to send 5.1 and 7.1 audio or even DTS/Atmos encoded audio, sic.

I haven't tinkered with it for ages, but there's a ton of HDMI audio topics - as it's usually the nuisance to get working with HDCP / HD audio on PC - often needing an encoder or enhancer like HeSuVi or other APO options to upsample 2ch audio to 5.1 or other audio outputs to get DTS or Atmos working with HDMI on PC.

The advantage for HDMI is you get more options for TV's and Soundbars / AV receivers. But it brings more headaches as PC is way more open - HDMI is very closed shop.
