@OzBrogains: I laugh at people at work sick for a whole week on different antibiotics then a week later sick again and on another bunch of antibiotics 😂

Hahaha waiting for this stupid comment to disappear, can’t believe these people
          Still exist in 2025.
People like you allow almost extinct diseases to revive.
Probably needed more sunlight in their diet…

        • What’s your stance on Covid vaccines?

          • -5

@node modules: Useless more people who had it died. We laughed at everyone who didnt take the vax but their laughing now. I had to take it for work but got just the 2

@smartazz104: You sound like "yeah i got this years flu shot but still got sick heaps. But its free and the government wouldn't lie to me."

            • @xxJAGUARxx: So great you chose to come here and shit on everyone with ignorant "ideas" that aren't even yours, and nothing to contribute. Always enjoy these type of comments. Make me feel very intelligent.

            • +1

@xxJAGUARxx: You sound like those people who "do their own research".

      • To be fair, all this stuff does is treat symptoms.

        • To be fair, treating symptoms is also prevention for secondary complications.

Like taking antihistamines and decongestants means mucous won't be sitting around in your sinuses for as long, lowering the risk of ear and sinus infections.

Cough suppressants minimise damage to the throat lining, which reduces the risk of getting strep throat after a cold.

I get ear infections after every cold if I don't max out decongestants, especially guafacine. Much more than just comfort.

  • Props for cold & flu PE as having an ineffective active ingredient.

For those not in the know: phenylephrine isn't effective as a decongestant when taken orally. Johnson & Johnson are getting used for Sudafed PE, codral PE and other brands. Pre-Trump US FDA also says it's ineffective

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-12-20/drug-phenylephrine-cl…

    • Props would be not including it in the bundle rather than some vague statement about the 'one of the many ingredients', ie the one the PE in the name refers to.

      • +1

Agree, including this is pointless, it's proven ineffective so trying to hawk it as "cold & flu" medication is scammy when the only useful ingredient is paracetemol.

I said this at the time when pseudoephedrine was replaced with this, that it never worked the same again.
Damn bikies and wanting their meth\s

      • +9

You can still get the pseudo version. It’s behind the counter and you need to ask the pharmacist for it aswell as show your drivers license

    • I thought it was a scam when I got a letter from JGA Saddler I think start of the year were they said they were doing a class action suit against J&J(VID1395/2024 - Green v Johnson & Johnson Pacific Pty Ltd ) Apparently I was one of the ones affected, don’t know how they found out I had purchased, probably through my anz card purchase. Had to fill some details and around June got $75 and some change. Weird but got some coin in the end.

Pseudoephidirine is still available in Australia, but you'll have to visit a chemist and provide ID to buy it. I assumed it wasn't available anymore until a relative showed me how to get it.

But we have the flu vax, why we need this? 🤪

    • -1

Because they need it for all the allergies they develop afterwards

    • -1

Why wear seat belts?! All they do is reduce the damage done and potentially stop you from being hurt at all. Oh hang on that sounds good and is exactly how the flu vax helps.

      • -2

Nah man, if it doesn't 100% prevent something from happening, it's 100% not worth it.

And its no big deal unless it actually kills you,

        /s

      • We’re exposing our immune system every day to countless low-level viruses it's built to handle naturally. So why risk unnecessary side effects from a vaccine for a virus that, for most healthy people, causes only mild symptoms? It's like overloading a perfectly good defense system with something it doesn’t really need, better to let your body do its job than interfere unnecessarily.

        • +1

How the vaccine works is they take the virus and then they "low-level" it and your immune system handles it naturally. Or you can just get the full virus and roll the dice. Everyone has a choice and you can do as you please.

          • -1

@OzzyBrak: Except the flu vax isn’t just a harmless "light version" of the virus. Most trials don’t even compare it to an inert saline placebo, so the true baseline safety profile isn’t as clear as people think. Its effectiveness changes every year because they have to guess the strains in advance, sometimes it’s a good match, other years it’s barely protective at all. And like any medical intervention, it comes with real risks, from common side effects to rare but serious reactions. For most healthy people, the immune system can already handle seasonal flu without adding that uncertainty.

            • -2

@RocketSwitch: Uncertainty of what? That they'll catch one of the stains not included in the that yearly vaccination? The majority of people hospitalised for influenza are unvaccinated.

“The latest data from Queensland Health reveals that 86 percent of those hospitalised with flu this year were not vaccinated, highlighting the importance of vaccination in preventing severe illness and hospitalisation.

“Flu-related hospital admissions have increased steadily in recent months, contributing to sustained pressure on hospitals and emergency departments across the state.”

              • -1

@OzzyBrak: Those numbers don’t prove the flu vax works, they just show correlation, not causation. Plenty of factors affect hospitalisation rates: age, existing health conditions, who actually goes to hospital, and reporting bias. The majority of people who get vaccinated might already be lower risk or less likely to seek care unless it’s serious. Also, Queensland Health’s data doesn’t tell you how many vaccinated people still caught the flu or how bad their symptoms were, just that they weren’t counted in hospital stats the same way. And without proper placebo-controlled trials, you can’t claim the shot is the magic difference.

The uncertainty is about side effects and whether the strain match is even effective that year, not just about catching a different strain. Hospital stats don’t magically erase that risk.

            • -1

@RocketSwitch: @RocketSwitch That’s a mix of bad half-truths and myths — the flu shot’s safety has been tracked in millions of people for decades, and serious side effects are vanishingly rare. Please just stop spinning your bs

              • -1

@Trentgibbo3: Oh, so now questioning an experimental medical jab with known safety data gaps is "fear mongering"? Classic deflection move. Millions tracked? Yeah, without proper placebo controls, it’s more guesswork than science. Serious side effects do happen, just ask the official warnings nobody reads. Comparing vaccine risks to lightning strikes and car crashes is the most ridiculous attempt to gaslight anyone asking for real answers. If you think blindly swallowing every pharma line without question makes you "informed," congratulations, ignorance truly is bliss.

        • -1

Except its not risking any side-effects - its completely false to say there is any reasonable chance of side effects. You are just as likely to be struck by lightning. Getting in your car is 50 times more likely to kill you, let alone have a serious side effect. So sod off with your fear mongering.

          • -1

@Trentgibbo3: By all means, keep ignoring facts and calling it "science." I’ll stick to asking questions while you drink the Kool-Aid.

            • -1

@RocketSwitch: What facts? All you've given is made up bs you've decided is a fact and ignored peer reviewed studies by reputable sources. You're points aren't smart, they are delusional.

              • -2

@Trentgibbo3: Peer-reviewed doesn’t automatically mean flawless or unbiased, history’s full of "reputable sources" proven wrong years later. My points come from official trial data, product inserts, and the simple fact that most flu vax studies skip true saline placebos, making their safety profile less certain than claimed. You can shout "delusional" all you want, but ignoring these gaps while pretending the science is untouchable isn’t smart, it’s blind faith.

Believing pharma without question isn’t science, it’s religion.

  • Is there ever a heart burn and bloating bundle?

    • Sounds like you need a gastroscopy

  • +5

I don't get medication bundles. it's not like buying toilet paper, just buy what you need, and presumably on the advice of your pharmacist or doctor. why would you want both ibuprofen/diclofenac (both NSAIDs) and loratadine/cetrizine (both second gen non sedating antihistamines) in one bundle? it's just confusing people and asking for medication errors

    • +3

They also expire, any throwaways cancel out initial perceived savings.

  • Damn this is good, thanks Jason. Too late for me though, wish I had this earlier. Can you please do one like this early next year, or have longer expiry items so we can store for a sniffly day.

  • When is the Hayfever bundle coming… ;)

  • -2

Absolutely wild that this bundle of things exists. Vitamin D, sunlight, and exercise are mostly free and do far more than treat symptoms..

  • Please remember to enter the coupon code in the Coupon Code box in the deal submission form.

  • Need a travel bundle.. travelan, kwells, stomach stuff, gas stuff, stuff like that :)

    • Ok leave it with me - I will see if I can get some supplier deals - might take a while but I'm onto it.
