Saw the air tag deal and decided to check the Motorola tags and came across this.

I bought a 4 pack earlier this year - 2 went through batteries ridiculously fast but after a firmware upgrade they are doing a lot better
HN is the only retailer that sells these. No way they're worth more than $98
MSRP is $99 in USA$ direct from Motorola, not a bad price with exchange rates.
Pissed I missed that one!
@singlemalt72: Don't be. I bought mine from this deal & they are yet to arrive. Next week apparently…
These are android only correct ?
Correct
Is a cross platform tag possible ?
You'd have to ask Apple that question I guess.
Possible? Yes, almost certainly.
Android devices are confirmed to be capable of detecting AirTag signals, and Apple devices are confirmed to be capable of detecting Moto Tags etc. It's simply a matter of software.
The issue is not one of technological capability, but unwillingness to build cross-platform interoperability on the part of the manufacturers.
Apple has been highly protective of their ecosystem lock-in, and are known to have dragged the chain on cross-platform compatibility regarding tracking devices specifically.
Aliexpress have similar tags, approx $10.00 each, seem to work OK
Do you have a brand name or store name? Thanks. AliExpress link usually has a referral so it could be deleted if you linked.
They make bluetooth tags, but not that are compatible with the Google find hub. Probably without UWB functionality either.
I had checked AE but haven't found UWB functionality yet.
Plenty on Aliexpress that support Google Find Hub - I've bought quite a few (and probably should work on a review at some point) but am yet to find any with UWB support
There are ones that support Find Hub now! Just no UWB.
I bought it for $98 last time. A few things I want to share:
In Australia, the Motorola TAG app in the Google Play store is still the older version, which means you will not be able to use UWB just yet. I have to side-load the latest version on my Android devices to upgrade the TAG firmware, which I find a little risky.
Even after I have UWB enabled, the range and usefulness are not that great. For example, for testing, I knew where my car was parked, and I tried to use it to "help" me find my car. I was able to see my car clearly before it was connected.
So, do I think $98 for 4 was a bargain? NO. Mod: Private selling in comments removed.
I paid $164 when they were the only option available at the start of the year and kind of share the same sentiments - but it's largely due to how Google set up their (allegedly) privacy-centric network which has made it materially worse than Samsung or Apple's. If there's enough users around, I do get responses (i.e. airports, etc) but I've had times where it won't pick up if it's really close or should have more users that would trigger a ping. That said, I was glad to have them as its nice knowing that my luggage arrived at the destination airport or (in a very small plane) that the luggage was underneath me. I can only hope the network improves over time.

Does Moto G86 Power support UWB?
No, it doesn't have UWB
Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.
wish more Motorola phones supported UWB.
Bought this in a previous deal. One of the tags doesn't work. Might a dead battery.
