Noob quiz what commbank yelo is? A credit card?

  • +1

    I got $10 on $200

  • I keep getting skipped for these Coles offers sigh…

    • This is the first time I’ve missed out since the start of the year. I hope it’s not the banging of the end.

  • Not targeted this month.

Yello is going the way of Amex, mediocre offers these days.

    • +2

Honestly have thought the opposite. I’m by no means a fan of CBA, but some of the Amazon, Coles, Menulog etc. cashback they’ve had in the last few months has been pretty good

  • Q. I have never received an offer and wondered whether it's because I'm on a student account?

    • I’ve asked them a couple of times and they say I have to switch to an account with a monthly fee which is why I still don’t have it either.

      • Have you been making regular deposits?

        • Yeah it’s my maIn savings account I’ve had for many years, Streamline Basic

    • I'll help you out here as CBA are beyond hopeless…

After raising multiple complaints, i worked it out.

You need an active debit card to get the Cashback offers and a credit card to get the sign up offers.

If you have both cards, you can use either for the offers. But you want see both types unless you have both cards.

I only had a cc, and wasn't getting any Cashback offers. So asked for a debit card on my savings account. All now works.

      • Ohh that's why. I can't apply for a CC. Thanks for the info there!

        • Credit card is not needed.
Just ring cba or drop in a branch and ask for debit card linked to your student account. And do 5 transactions each month.

          • @cj3: Do you still get the sign up bonuses (not the Cashback offers) without a credit card?

To be fair, they are all mostly crap anyway. The free mobile for 3months was about as good as it got. Powershop deals etc are crap.

            • @tunzafun001: I'm not sure what sign up bonus you are referring to, but I do have the More internet and nbn deal.
              Other offers right now include:
              - 15% off samsung store
              - Three months of disney+ Standard for $19.95
              - 6 months free uber one plus $30 credits
              - discount village tix
              - 3 months free oneplus
And other useless stuff such as Hello fresh, discount energy, travel stuff.
Too be honest, they are all useless. Have only taken advantage of the coles and chemistwarehouse offers.

              • @cj3: Do you have:
The Nespresso, Liquorland, Presale Linkin Park/ crowded house tickets, Redballoon, Buy and own car, Origin offer?

Maybe you do with a debit card only?

But 100%, you wont get the Cashback offers (like coles) with only a credit card.

                • @tunzafun001: Have every thing you listed except the liquorland one.
                  Got a Vittoria Coffee one.
And the Nespresso specified that it is a Credit card offer. I don't know why they offer this one since I don't have a credit card.

                • @tunzafun001: People with only credit cards have definitely gotten the Coles offer, as can be seen by comments asking about whether doing cash out would result in a cash advance fee (below and here for example).

                  • @UrMumsOnlyFan: They may have had a debit card previously, and since closed it.
All I know is I went through a 6 month complaint process re CBA yello, and it was sorted overnight once a debit card was activated. Perhaps a coincidence…but I 100% advised getting one and trying if you aren't getting the offers.

          • @cj3: Thanks. I'll try that.

      • What's the sign up offer?

Have the menu log $15 off $30 spend, don't use menulog so useless, ditto Uber One free six months and $30 credits.
Got the More discounts. Village tix discounts. Oneplus free 3 months,
Chemistwarehouse discounts whenever it comes around. And heaps of other stuff. And I only have debit card.

  • $10 cashback on $100

  • $5 off $200 for me

  • $30 cashback on a $200 spend for me

    • Best offer yet, dont think it can get any better

    • +2

Buy something + cash out to $200. Then go straight to a CBA ATM and deposit the cash back.

  • +1

$5 cashback on $100 for me. Not enough for me to go to Coles as Woolies is my local supermarket.

    • Buy a gift card

  • $10 off $200..

  • $5 off $50

  • +2

    $5 off $100

Reminder the cash out trick works

  • FYI my cash pack was denied (even called support) despite purchasing 2 days before end date because the transaction was ‘processed’ after the expiry. The app timestamp is before the timestamp however.

    • Thats because CBA are an absolute disgrace of a bank.
Don't even have printable EOFY tax summaries for loans or savings accounts.
I've logged 4 complaints with CBA this year alone..all found in my favor. My advice, lodge a formal complaint. Then you will get a human email you. Keep that email address..you will need it… Until you find a better bank.
I have moved half of my banking to a credit union that has no fees. Better in every way (NetBanking, service, functionality). I call a number …and someone answers…imagine that CBA.. none of this press 3, press 5 wait half a year rubbish.

      • *update - CBA just emailed me and said they don't provide EOFY tax summaries online. You need to go into a branch and ask for one…….

        No words……

    • That's kinda on Coles, they usually process it within 24 hours but sometimes it can take longer. Next time insert your card and select eftpos SAV or CHQ - eftpos transactions are processed instantly.

      • +1

My online orders often take about 4-5 days to process after pickup. I don't think it should matter, as long as you buy within the dates?

  • Thanks. I got 30 off for spend 200

  • Gold tier status, I got $10 off $100.

  • 5$ off 100$

  • My $5 off $100 offer was showing yesterday in Yello but has disappeared today.

    • Must be in the activated section. The app has become very confusing lately.

      • Cheers, I just found it there. App was very glitchy this morning, there wasn't an Activated section displayed.

Now off to Coles to save $5

  • $5 for $50 spend for me. Keep getting this offer almost every month. I’m not complaining but wondering what triggered other people got $10 or $15.

    • Could be higher CommBank Yello Tier.

      • Is diamond highest tier? I'm diamond and didn't get this Coles deal.

        • Yep. Then I am not sure if it's the tier. I always get $150 and my wife gets $50. But I have a credit card and most of my spend is from that.

          • +1

@djsydney: Higher tier didn't change anything for me when I had it in the past (through 30 transactions per month). I always got $5 cashback with the exception of one time.

There wasn't any discernible rhyme or reason to the offers. It didn't seem to matter whether I spent a lot at Coles or a little. And once or twice I didn't get the offer at all.

      • I am diamond, I only ever get the crappiest versions. $5 for $100 spend. I suspect it is more to encourage lower spenders to spend more, similar to how everyday rewards you need to spend very little to get the great offers or have lots of cards.

  • got 5 off 50
