eBay Plus Annual Subscription $7.99 / $10 (Normally $49/ Year)

6282

Saw Annual eBay Plus for $7.99 on the homepage when browsing. Unsure if it's targeted but it does mention the promotion has started today from 10 am and ending on 30th of August 2025. The subscription will auto renew at $49.99 so you'll have to manually turn that off. FYI I have made a purchase from eBay this week for those wondering how to be targeted.

    Thanks

  • Has anyone received a 50% off Australia Post postage labels offer through eBay Plus recently or is that deal long gone?

    • +1

Recent deal was 5 free sendle labels valid till end of Aug when selling clothing.

  • Got the $10 offer now, but why? $7.99 maybe but if only gonna buy items over the coming 2 months, just join for $4.99 a month for the 2 months..

  • Thanks OP, got the $7.99 offer!

  • 3 full days since ebay support said they would get back to me, they said in 2-3 they would email me.
I've heard nothing…So much for their valued customer speech they gave me, which was copy pasted off a script.
Not that it matters, I only use ebay once a blue moon.

    • Any update?

      • I contacted them again on Monday.
Support once again said they will follow up what was happening with my case.
They gave me the whole "We are sorry, your satisfaction is our mission" spill.
I still have not heard anything back, I will contact them again tomorrow.
I have contacted them 4 times now.
Around, around in circles we go, haha

  • Ended up as $10 when I navigated to the eBay plus part of the app

  • Got it for $10. Cancelled right away.

  • Got it for $7.99.
    Thanks OP.

  • Thanks Geniuses. Got it for $10.

  • I got a $20 voucher for this deal as well.

  • It gives me the offer of

"A year of eBay Plus for $7.99*"

but clicking signup, they want to charge me $49 :(

    • That can happen. Seen it before when I get an offer like that. Means you're not targeted.

      • +1

“Eligible Users” means users who have been invited to participate in the offer via email or eBay Message Centre and/or homepage banners on eBay.com.au.

That's abundantly clear if you see the banner you are eligible ("targeted").

  • this time i'm targeted i guess. Thanks OP.

  • I recieved a text message and it gives me link to sign up 7.99 for an year !

  • do they still give you $5 off vouchers?

    • Yes, but min spend $50 on eligible PLUS items only.
They stopped giving the generic $5 voucher.

  • Got emailed $10 offer, saw it on the banner on website and app - payment page showed $49 and went through hoping it would change at payments. Contacted eBay support who told me it's a known issue and will get back to me - no timeframe. Took a gamble and honestly not even sure it's worth my time, I haven't bought anything on eBay for quite some time.

    • Same but told me they'll get back to me in 7-10 business days. That was a week ago.

      • Ugh man they told me the same, I'll probably get on their case next week if they don't partial refund. At that point, would press for a full refund if they're being annoying about it.

  • got it!

  • I was charged $49 instead of $10, but support said they will refund the extra to my bank account.

    • Thank you for reaching out for an issue you faced about eBay Plus annual membership offer.

We apologies for the inconvenience caused. The system charged $49 instead of $10. To make it right for you, we have credited $39 to your eBay account. Additionally, we have issued a $10 courtesy voucher making the annual subscription effectively free for you!

      • How long did it take for them to rectify it? Did you contact them via chat?

        • Within 3 hours. Via chat.

      • Wow very lucky! Every chat agent I’ve connected to has told me it’ll need to be escalated with no timeframe. Will probably request a full refund by Wednesday. I don’t need eBay plus and not everyone is being offered a quick refund either.

    • How do you get to support if you can tell me? I have gone under help but can't find an option to get through support?

      • +1

I think I went Help -> Contact Us -> Fees and Billing - Fee Credits -> Chat with our automated assistant, then got connected to a human.

        • Same. Just requested cancellation and fill refund and got it. Can't bother waitlonger for them to fix their mess.

          • @Trillian: How long did it take you to get the refund once approved ?

            • +1

@London: 10 minutes to get email from Paypal.

              • +1

@Trillian: He insisted 7-10 business days for partial refund if I wanted to keep the subscription but I have been waiting since the 19th and got fed up.

                • @Trillian: Thanks.
Looks like they are not serious.

  • Today I subscribed for 1 year at $49 with the help of customer service. I was supposed to get a $41.01 refund on PayPal to match the $7.99 offer. The agent said there was a glitch and this was the only way.

He claimed he processed the refund, but I haven’t received anything on PayPal or by email. Only after I complained did he mention it could take up to 7 days — something he never told me before.

Honestly, I don’t believe him and feel like I’ve lost my money.
Has anyone else had this experience? How long did your refund actually take?

    • +1

Mine wasn't via PayPal. It went into my eBay account (like where money goes if I sell something) and then was automatically transferred to my bank account the following day.

  • +1

I got email for $10 eBay plus, when I clicked on link it tried to charge me $49. Asked support for assistance, they said go ahead and buy it because offer ends tomorrow. They will refund difference to my linked bank account by Wednesday (3 business days).
They emailed me the support transacript, so if refund not received will have proof of agreement.

    • eBay is well known for their technical glitches with almost all of their promotions.
You then have to chase these dumbarse chat agents for a refund or the re-issue of a voucher many many times before it actually eventuates.
It is just an epic waste of time.

    • +1

So 3 business days came and went. I followed up today (day 5) and was told "I have checked further with this and we are able to see that the details have already been forwarded to the specialised team, due to the nature of the issue it is taking additional time". Have to wait another 5-7 working days.

I don't mind waiting. Will chase it up next week if still not received.

      • I received refund via my linked bank account plus a $10 voucher to use with no minimum spend.
A bit of effort, but got PLUS for free in the end. Wishing eveyone else a satisfying outcome also.

  • Targeted for once. Missed out on the last few $10 signups. Though I rarely spend at eBay these days. Spend more at AliExpress.

  • I got sent a notification for $10 a year last week and signed up. Haven't had it for about 1-2 years

  • Got it for $7.99. thanks OP!

  • I got the $10 offer….is it even worth it with ebay anymore?

    • It's worth it even for 1-2 purchases a year.

Wish I had eBay Plus before I bought Galaxy S25 from the last Afterpay Deal. The phone arrived with a tiny hole on the screen, thought it was dust at first. Now I'm waiting patiently for eBay to process the return.

  • my offer is $7.99 but still shows $49 when you click on Join now

  • As a general rule and lifehack, every time I start a subscription, I cancel it. Companies will always do deals to get you to re-subscribe, but don't do anything to reward people who stick around

    • Absolutely agree. Provided they can even charge you right the first time lol. Probably last time I’ll ever try and join eBay plus again. What a waste of time.

  • Thx OP!

  • Thankyou OP, got the $7.99 offer.

  • Came up as $7.99 but got charged $49. Have been trying to get onto support but impossible to connect to an agent, keep getting below error. Absolute trash and shouldn’t have bothered

Something went wrong. Please try again later. You can also get more info searching online help, or you can contact an agent.

  • Woe is me, I forgot to cancel my subscription and it auto renewed on the $49

This post keeps reminding me of my shame

  • +1

Cancelled and refunded in full. Took about 10 mins on the line with the agent compared to days of follow up for a partial refund. Not bothering again with the offer if it shows different on payment page.

    • Still no partial refund for me. I will ask for full refund tomorrow.
What a crazy company to deal with!

      • Insane! They refuse to cancel it and refund me. They are just asking me to wait….

        • Were you able to get them to cancel? I talked to an agent on the phone for this as I was frustrated with online chat.

          • @tokyocalling: Nope, no cancellation possible and still no partial refund received. really frustrating!
How did it end up for you ?

            • +1

@London: I just ended up calling eBay support and asking for a full refund. They processed that whilst I was on the phone with them. Ironically, a day later they emailed saying they could offer me the $39 refund and $10 voucher via Paypal but passed on that.

  • Got screenshot for $7.99 and charged $49
Contacted support and a couple days later they will refund 41.01 plus $7.99 voucher. Pretty happy

  • After cancelling out of frustration, they email yesterday asking for paypal account to refund $39 and offered a $10 voucher for the inconvenience. I informed them I had already cancelled but would subscribe again only upon receiving refund. The advised 7-10 business days for refund to be processed yet again.

    • I got the email too but not interested in rejoining again unless I get charged at $10 instead of this runaround.

    • Just got my offer today as I didn’t pay for the full price then. They asked me to join for $49, then reply the email to confirm my PayPal details so that they could refund $41.01 and offered me a $7.99 eBay voucher. Could be said that they gave me a year of free eBay Plus.

I guess eBay does have a heart? I do save quite a bit from some Plus coupon deals, YMMV.

  • Still no partial refund after 10 days…
    what about you guys ?

    • Finally got the refund!

  • Is it even worth that much a year.. pretty hopeless these days. Spend 50 to use a 15$ voucher, no sellers perks..

Maybe the extra 2% on yearly vouchers is ok.
