Depends on what you upload, and what you prompt it to do. I've done some that look very fake, some that look absolutely incredible and you could not tell they're not real videos. I've had it generate entire videos by itself that are crazy realistic, some that are highly stylized or cartoony, etc. It's all about the prompts, really.

The results I just got from 5 minutes of using the Grok phone app is more impressive than what I have been able to produce using the Adobe Creative Suite AI features on a PC (which costs a small fortune).
First image i tried to generate it failed miserably and couldn't create what was asked. Perplexity, Copilot, ChatGPT and Gemini all done better.
Did you ask for a non-adult pic? I can understand Grok being confused by that request.
I was able to generate an awesome pic of Sidney Sweenie at War.
My experience was images (non adult :) created with similar or better quality to what I have experienced elsewhere, much faster, and with a long list of alternate generations that seems to be a non-expiring list. Maybe it was just Grok beginners luck.

there's a million free image creators online. This is not a service the internet needs and when people do use it, its almost entirely to either spread misinformation or steal intellectual property from someone that actually creates real art
xAI and Grok are a godsend for LLM users that don't want to be told what they can and can't do with a model. Putting aside the fact that Grok4 is the best non-China coder and problem solver at the moment, you rarely if ever get told that it can't respond because your request is controversial. And by that I mean something like how to find an otc drug to solve a problem that an expensive prescription drug solves or how to circumvent tax law.
