New Ozito 36V Brushless Line Trimmer Brush Cutter PXBLBS-3643

Anyone taken a chance on the new-new Ozito PXC 36V 2 x 18V Brushless Line Trimmer And Brush Cutter PXBLBS-3643?

https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-36v-2-x-18v-brushless-…

I swear my stores have had stock for over a month but they aren't even on the shelf, let alone an unboxed one on display. I have the first 36V line trimmer ozito put out (still on sale) and it sucks, for many reasons, but the worst crime is the spool attachment is non-standard and the included spool head sucks. This one looks like it might be standard.

I'm thinking this, or a Ryobi brushless 36V kit. I missed the bundle they did a bit ago with a pole trimmer attachment so I'm waiting on some sort of better deal than the $400 kit.

This is one of them things I hate about buying gardening products. It’s really hard to see and try the tools before buying them. I guess it’s fine because Bunnings does return but it does waste time.

Bunnings won't accept returns of used products. A friend bought a mower and found it inadequate. Bunnings won't refund.

      • I've found they can be pushed on "poor quality" items to give a refund, and I've returned at least 1 used item which i told them was complete garbage. But i don't think they're obliged to do it.

Oh wow, TIL. I have always been able to return everything so far as I know.

    This is good to know

Everything of mine is ozito except this
I bought ryobi because the ozito one was crap

However I have no complaints about the ryobi one I bought it goes through anything I throw at it

Hopefully this one from ozito will be much improved

    • +1 for Ryobi 36V whipper snipper.

I got one to do line trimming and edging and it's a beast.

      • I've got it as well and have not had a problem. Would recommend.

  • Looks pretty good but I'd wait for a sale. Straight shaft and brushless address my two biggest complaints of the brushed version.

  • 6.2 kilos? Granted that's the package weight, but seems a bit heavy, add 2 decent sized batteries and that's a heavy trimmer

  • Wow this looks like a beast.

I have the 18V one and rate it HIGHLY for home use.

  • you realise ALDI sell a 36V 5-in-1 kit (skin) much cheaper than that? $229 last year. bunnings are taking the piss out of you at with their pricing

line trimmer, brush cutter, hedge trimmer, edger and pole saw. the attachments look similar to those shown on this page for a different product https://www.mitre10.com.au/rockwell-2-x-18v-5-in-1-garden-ki…

It looks like the motor for this one is where the trimmer head is, which is going to make using it more difficult than even a 2-stroke unit where the bulk of the weight is behind you.

Most of the Ryobi ones also have the motor behind you.

Could be a super-light motor, but generally speaking when the motor is at the bottom it becomes unwieldy to use due to having to swing around a larger weight at the end of the trimmer.

Add two batteries behind you and the weight could actually be balanced?

      • +1

It's more about the leverage that weight has on you, less so about balance

Grab a broom by the broom end with one hand and try to swing the handle around

Now grab the handle end right at the tip with one hand and try the same

Extreme example but it illustrates the theory

  • Fingers crossed this is a good one, because I have heard all of the other Ozito trimmers have been a little average.

  • Max 2mm line… That is a little disappointing though.

    • Agree…the other specs are ok but 2mm line limit drops it below other 'step upin quality ' cordless trimmers.

  • It's been "in stock" at my local bunnings for a month or so now, still not on display, still not assigned shelf space. They appeared in a floor display a couple of days ago but today have vanished again.

The Ryobi suits me for having the pole hedge trimmer attachment but it's also completely vanished for months despite not being officially discontinued.

    • I hunted down the boxes in the specials area where they were dumped behind other stuff. A staff member unboxed one for me to look at disassembled. It has a standard looking reverse thread spool attachment with a locking button, and the entire thing looks a significant step up in design and quality from any other ozito line trimmer. The spool is better than the old one too. But the heavy motor at the head meant I knew it wasn't for me. I don't need a brush cutter either.

I got the Ryobi 36V brushless kit R36LTR24 and with a quick test run, it's great. Powerful and surprising light, more ergonomic, much better than the old ozito I had. I looked at the 18V HP whisper but it again was too heavy at the head for me. I wish I got the bundle in April for the same price but you can't win them all.

      Thanks for the input everyone.
