No Annual Fee Credit Card with Added Perks

Hi, I'm looking for a credit card with no annual fees that includes some added perks like discount on travel booking sites or lounge access etc.

I pretty much only use my credit card for things that require it such as hotel bond/deposit, or car rental deposit.

No Annual Fee Credit Card with Added Perks

Lots of credit cards with perks now offer monthly fees…

There's three types of cards. No annual fee - no frills, just credit and maybe insurance. Value - which gives you points for redemptions of kettles and the like, and the Travel ones - tied to QFF or Virgin. Those typically have lounge access.

Bendigo gives you free travel insurance and no FX fee.
HSBC will give you 2 free lounge passes and no annual fee in the first year

A lot of debit card platforms like NAB Goodies Orr CommBank Yello offer discounts/cashback on travel stuff but I’m not convinced they’re any better than just waiting for Booking to his 10% on CashRewards (that said I just saved 20% on some flights with Yello/Hopper but not sure what the criteria is for that)

    • Bendigo Bank is pia when it comes to the application process.

I've read about the difficult application process with Bendigo but I needed a spare no FX fee card, so I applied for it. To my surprise it took only 2 business days to be approved, without any additional requests for information. The easiest approval I've had for ages. I'm self employed, have already 7 credit cards with $47k total limit.

Hard to find a CC with no annual fee that provides perks on travel/lounges. If you travel internationally a fair bit, a fee free CC with no international fees could be your best bet. You could look at the CommBank Smart Awards credit card, can get some decent perks and fee free if you can spend $2000 per month/statement period, works well if your usual outgoings are higher than that anyway.

I've recently taken out the Kogan Money card, no annual fee but they do have a 3.4% international transaction fee. $300-400 credit to use on their website after $3000 spend in 90 days. Basically 1% cashback to use on their site as well. Free KoganFirst subscription. They have a ton of stuff on their website with free delivery, instead of going to KMart/BigW for items I look at Kogan first for similar products.

    • Like I said, I never use it for anything other than places that require it for bond/deposit holds.

  • I've noticed that Visa has a portal with offers and discounts, is this accessible with any Visa card or only certain cards?
