just a heads up that Didi drivers will cancel on you for short trips.
drivers can see your selected destination when they get within a certain distance from the pick up location.
if it is too short, they will cancel.I have had 4 drivers cancel on me for a 6.5km ride.
they would accept the booking, drive ~10 mins to get near me, then when they got to a km from me they would cancel, Didi would find a new driver who would do the same thing.
took me 50 mins to gte a ride.Didi drivers can see your destination immediately, as soon as the trip request pops up. You don't have to be within a certain distance. I know this as I'm a Didi driver.

Nobody would accept a trip and then cancel it for the reason of the trip being too short - that makes no sense.

In my case above, without exaggeration, each of the 4 drivers accepted, I can see them drive towards my pick up location, and when they got near they would cancel.
The fare for the trip was ~$12could it be that they got another better ride and decided to take that?
They could have been signed into Uber and Didi at the same time. They accept a Didi trip, drive towards you, then a better (longer) Uber trip pops up and they accept that and cancel the Didi. That's the only reason I can think of.
sucks that happened to you but in my experience, it's only happened once out of my last ~60 rides

Didi is basically dead. I'm a Didi (and Uber) driver, and sometimes I sign on Didi and don't get any trip requests for an hour or more. With Uber it usually takes a few minutes. Hardly anyone seems to be using Didi anymore.
In Sydney the Didi is strong

This only seems to be for 'Didi Travel' which is for longer distances. Downside of living too close to the airport I guess…
