$50 Fuel Voucher with GPS Purchase + $1 Delivery. - Good Guys. [Existing Signups only]

111

The Good Guys have a fan discount and today I received the email attached in the link. The "shop now" link goes to the GPS. http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Phones_&_Navigation/…

I am not sure if you can just sign up and get the discount or not but I assume Ozbargainers may already be registered. There is no mention of minimum spend also $1 delivery until the 28th. I purchased the $54 GPS plus $1 for the delivery. I enquired if any GPS was eligible since there was not much information about it I received no reply. I did however after purchasing get the following reply. I expect I will get a $50 fuel voucher soon.

Good deal as The Good Guys have cheaper prices on lots of GPS.

Always go for Tom Tom. Garmin is ok. Navman is junk.

TomTom Via280 is good if you want voice recognition. It can come quite handy as long as you know the address.
TomTom Go825 would be nice if you want traffic info. JB sells it for $349 rrp (you can price match to GG)

Bluetooth on any of them is useless.

    • garmin is bizarre [nrma offer regretted]
      tomtom was better
have gone back to old tomtom

    • Have to agree with this Tomtom is amazing, ex bought me a Navman and it would take me to closed roads, one way roads, etc

    From T&C:

You can update your Faves-List choices at any time; however any changes to your Faves-List must be received no later than 4 hours prior to a poll closing time in order to be eligible for that week's Discount Offer.

So you can't just sign up and get this offer..

  • I wonder what stations u can use the fuel voucher at or would it just be eftpos . I might purchase it online …$5 aint bad but im not sure in order to be eligable for the $50 fuel voucher. Do u need to have an email sent to you or you can apply if your a member of the facebook fan club and tick the right field for discounts~ i still havent got any emails from them yet.(Just signed up 10 mins ago)

    • I'm afraid newly registered users are not eligible. Vouchers are sent to e-mail and are single-use.

    • I would enquire before purchasing to be on the safe side. In the past they have sent vouchers like $40 off game consoles. It expired on a certain date and were individual. This one was different to the others. I am not sure if this was sent to everyone or someone just signed up to electronics. I removed my name and email in the link. Email them or post on their facebook page if you have signed up if you are eligible for the GPS offer.

I'm tempted to buy and refund if ineligible for fuel voucher.

thats what i was thinking but the device($54) doesnt sound that great anyway.

      Heres the specs http://www.topfreebiz.com/product/1400464/Personal-Navigatio…

I know its only $4-5 when u think about getting the fuel offer but I think do I really need some more junk I dont really need. Hope others can find a good use :)

I agree. Years ago I paid $800 for a GPS for a gift and someone else broke it not long after it had been purchased. If someone breaks this one I won't care.

      • The Garmin for $78 seems to be the wiser choice. Works out to be $28 after using the $50 fuel card.

    no not the garmin.
the navman is $79 and comes with 3 years maps

I much prefer the features of the Garmin but that's just me.

  • i would like to know the terms on the fuel voucher, if there are any

  • Anyone tested it with newly signed up fan account yet?

    • it says for next week

  • Some of them are cheaper elsewhere; for eg: Garmin 2595 LMT is $278 at TGG, $199 at Dick Smith. And Garmin 1450 LMT is on specials at DS for $119 which is the cheapest I could find anywhere.

Dam, I just bought a GPS on Thursday night from them, might have to return it and buy it again today.

I got email back saying they wouldn't accept a slight days difference. Most companies would honour a slight day's different.

Everybody……….. I have gotten an official answer from them by emailing them.

ONLY people who received the email will get the voucher…
    The voucher is for Shell.

I'm going to neg this just so people read this post and on the basis that people who are eligible would have received the email and it isn't publicly available.

    EMAIL:
    Hi <NAME>,
If you are eligible for the $50 voucher you will have received and email outlining how to make your claim. Please check your email, remembering also to check your spam folder as well.
In answer to your other question, the petrol voucher is with Shell.

    Kind regards
    Greg

    • Thanks I updated it.

If it is only available for existing sign ups then it shoud show in the title.

    From their facebook page…
"The Good Guys Hi Sudhir, if you haven't received the email outlining how to claim, then it seems you may have missed out on this particular offer. Not to worry, there will be many more discounts in the coming weeks, stay tuned "

I should neg this but it is a great offer for those already signed up so will leave as is.

I still think it might work if anyone is willing to try. There is no unique code~ as long as u are signed up to the right subscription for the discounts + it helps to get someone who is decent when processing your claim.

    • site says you register for the next week's offer

  • Aww bummer was keen on getting a GPS.too.
That sign up page isn't loading up for me.

    • I fill it out and click on the get code button and it just clears the page… :-(

  • That's kind of neat. $5 for a GPS delivered. Even if it's a crap one. I'd still get it if I was eligible.

  • Garmin one for $28+50

  • Good Afternoon Ozbargainers… Just thought i would put a comment up.. I signed up on Saturday for the fan-discounts on Saturday, and then Sunday afternoon after much deliberation, i decided to order a GPS with the $1 shipping offer to try my luck with claiming the offer. I ordered the Garmin Nuvi for $78 + $1 shipping. I got a phone call today (Monday) at 9am from TGG confirming the delivery address.. and now, by 1pm, the courier driver had delivered it.. same day!! I also emailed off my details for the claim for the $50 fuel voucher, i got a standard email response to indicate that if eligible I will receive the $50 fuel card in the mail.. i suspect i will, because as far as i was concerned there was nothing on the email (that someone else kindly posted here) didn't specify that it was for existing members. From everything i had read, as long as you were a member when making the purchase, and could provide all of the details required, then you could claim the offer..
Happy and safe driving (and ozbargaining) everyone!!!

  • I have joined and am thinking of buying the $78 gps, and picking up as I do not think the $1 delivery is still available?? Now I am a fan member can I get the petrol voucher for purchasing a gps up till the 8/2?? I would like to hear from anyone who has claimed the voucher. Please let me know, thanks
