None at my local
Said sold earlier this morning.
I just did a quick search for a case on eBay but I can't find any
Thanks!
But it's quite expensive for a $139 device
I need a cheap case and screen protector combo as well
I Got one from Coles hamilton QLD 13:45
In Excellent Condition
Generic Braided cable and adapter included in it
I live in Hamilton - do you mean Coles Ascot? I didn't think the Coles Local stores would stock so didn't even bother trying…..
I tried to activate the SIM card included in the box. It fails. It returns a message stating 'invalid/expired' sim card, even though the expiry is 2025-10-01.
Has anyone had success activating or getting the same error?
also had the same issue
Very happy with mine. No scratches or dents at all.
Rang up this morning and they said there was 5 in stock at my local, ordered click and collect for 5pm. Hope there is stock still or my wifes going to angry i sent her on a trip for nothing.
Ordered a second one as i forgot i had ColePlus free delivery and Rapid delivery. Will find out in an hour if they cancel it.
Will just return the less good one.
Also managed to use the code GIFT10 to get an extra $10 off!
which store?
Any way to determine current maximum battery capacity?
Thanks, missed it
The video is titled "the easy way" - I'd hate to see the hard way!
So apart from some tiny scratches and the screen being a print and dust magnet, my iPad mini seems ok.
Took about 4 and half hours to fully charged from dead though, but I think that's normal.
Just seen it came with a 5V 2.1A charger.
Still to test the battery health.
About 50GB of storage available.
On iOS 17.4.1 - how many of you updating to 18?
any reason why not? yeah, i reckon it needs a screen protector to alleviate that dust and fingerprint issues
I was thinking the same about the screen protector.
Often, particularly in the early versions of new OS's or with older hardware (like this), upgrades have detrimental side effects.
Battery life taking a hit is a common issue, no longer being able to use some apps is another.
A few years ago Apple were accused of deliberately "breaking" older devices with upgrades.
My iPod was never the same again after it's last supported iOS upgrade - an upgrade that didn't give me a single benefit.
Ever since then I've always been wary about these things.
Yep my iPad 2 was like that from ios 4 to 9 iirc
Only update if absolutely needed
link says out of stock. no need to click.
My midnight order got cancelled.
Then I called customer care, they mucked around a bit, but basically told me that the store did not have any stock.
Then, after some more mucking around, they connected me to a store that apparently had stock. Went to the store, and they said they don't have any stock. So I told them I had already confirmed over the phone that they had 3 in stock. They called some guy on their intercom, and voila, they had stock.
Got a Grey 64GB device. 87.4% battery life. August 2020 manufacturing date. iOS 17.4.1 (updated to 18 something now). minor scratches on the screen, but there is a big dent on the top right corner - wondering if I should get a replacement from Boost ??
87.4% battery life. August 2020 manufacturing date.
How are you checking for both of these? Hopefully it’s an easy method
For manufacturing date, add serial number here: Lhttp://www.chipmunk.nl/cgi-fast/applemodel.cgi
For battery life, download this app: https://imazing.com/ ( although I would take this one with a pinch of salt, and confirm this number by using this method here: https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/how-to-check-your-ipads-bat…
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks
Manufacture date is also August 2020 on mine.
Can’t find the analytics file. Maybe I have to wait a day or two to see it.
you'll need to enable Share iPad Analytics and then come back in a day or two when the necessary data's been recorded. Once it's available, tap Open Analytics Data.
It’s amazing you could see it quicker
I’ll download that app on pc to check later tonight
👍
@YoursTruly: for sure that is a new battery which is great. something from 2020 that has such a low cycle count is impossible.
@Hugh G Rection: Could have been returned very early on and sat in a warehouse - literally looks brand new
93% against rated capacity
88% of original capacity
Cycle Count 51
Seems a lot of battery wear for a small-ish cycle count?
I got 2 one is June 2020 and 20 cycles 98.3% and the other is Dec 2019 and 44 cycles with 93.8% both are immaculate! I lucked out!!
Are you happy with iOS 18?
Because my click and collect order is for Saturday pickup, the store can’t tell me on the phone if they will have it or not.
My click and collect order got cancelled for bray rook VIC earlier this morning… convinced none of the metro VIC stores have stock anymore
I ordered two online this morning, 3am, none delivered. ACT
Yeah - Coles Robina, Pac Fair gave me the runaround. Their customer support phone is useless.
Thanks. Bought one just now. 7:30 pm. About 5-6 still left. The box is dirty and beaten up. But the device is good condition. Battery no charge.
Where tho ZZ
Anymore stock in Melbourne north or west?
8:45AM, tried my local (Revesby NSW). They said all sold, they only had 3.
Interestingly, they had several iPad 4 minis. I asked for the price. They said not listed, so couldn't sell???
…but they kindly did a stock search (Code 8737516,
which I found on this page: https://www.coles.com.au/product/apple-ipad-5-mini-64gb-wifi…)
A nearby store, Bankstown, had 4. Went there, had to wait 20 minutes for service, but got one.
Good condition, iOS 17.4.1, non-Apple charger and cable.
Thanks OP!
What time did you go to Bankstown? I was there about 4pm and the lady said there was none.
Bummer. It was mid-morning.
Get a store to do a stock search at neighbouring stores??
Oh. How do you know if your device is Unlocked?
Under
Settings > General > About
mine says
Service Provider: Telstra
?
Check your SIM slot - mine still has a Telstra SIM in it, obviously from the previous owner. 8-))
Yep, that's why - doh!
Well, I guess opening the sim tray isn't one of the rigourous 72 inspection points
XD
Same haha
me too, discovered after I noticed "no mobile coverage" was eating battery.
I called my 4 closest stores last night. 2 had 2, 1 had none and the other wouldn’t answer the phone after numerous attempts. Happened to wake up about 1 am, had an order ready for 10-2 collection and got it. Haven’t looked yet. BUT, Boost refurbished are great and don’t worry about a replacement or refund if not happy.
Has anyone got any luck in Adelaide? I ordered one and selected " Greenacres" store but it got cancelled.
They are now in FB marketplace, flipping for $240
that's very sad =( was hoping people who really needed it should've gotten it, not those opportunistic people who only thinks about making money.
Delivery was cancelled, so I tried "rapid C&C" for the way home, and it worked.
One $5 rapid fee is better than phoning around or visiting potentially many shops.
I tried this- waited for 3hours and still didnt get a confirmation that its ready for pick up. I went to the store and was told that they dont have any records of the order and that if its the ipad mini they said they dont have stock and it should be cancelled. the odd thing though is I still havent received the cancellation notice and my order is marked as Collected.
I did this too - waited at home whilst the app kept saying order is out for delivery - 45 mins after expected time, chat told me oh no that order has been cancelled as no stock - still said out for delivery in my app! Grrrr
My battery came out at 89%, only 45 charge cycles. Looks pretty much pristine too.
Tried playing some stuff in Netflix, Youtube and the screen is not that bright. I can't see how to increase the brightness in these apps. I can crank it up on the desktop though but that doesn't seem to improve the display in apps.
My charge count is 37 and the battery health is at100%!
Any SA store got the stock if anyone knows?
I ordered one from Glenelg store for Click and collect. The order is ready for collection. They may have more stock. Try rapid click and collect, it is free. You will know within half an hour.
Use code "NEW" to get $10 off if it is your first app order.
Tip: sign up for the Coles Plus trial, and order delivery. Rang up several local stores, said they were all out of stock. Placed an order and 20 minutes later saw the delivery coming from the local store that just said they didn't have any! Paid $140.50 in total (bags were $1.50, which you can't unselect).
Northside Brisbane.
Got one, surprisingly charge count is only 37 and battery health is at 100%! Also looks in perfect condition!
how many times are you going to repeat this information? we get it.
He’s excited.
Have you forgotten how to be excited?
OOS online. Unable to add in trolley
I found that out too.
St Agnes, SA store had one. Just took it. SD told me they sold 4 in total and so far no returns. Just opened in front of lady at SD, inside was taped Ipad mini, charger and $2 boost sim. Will go home and check the battery and other specs.
SD is Service Desk?
There's one left at garden city Coles Queensland.
I had to ring a few stores before I found it.
I got one now.
Anyone in Victoria knows where there's stock?
Managed to pick mine up from the click and collect (even though they cancelled it last minute they did have it)
Only minor scratches, will check battery but am very happy with it
89% battery life, lucked out
Ended up paying $125 for mine with the 10% offer i had.
Needed something cheap to facetime family and pair my free hoco airtags (90% off with aliexpress coins = $1 each) so this will do fine
Anyone get any in Western Sydney? You can’t even add them to a click and collect order now.
All probably gone by now. Was only a few per store.
You could try stores in suburbs that are not popular
Does this work similar to the roast chook. If they don't have any you get next one for free
That’s some active imagination you’ve got there!
Sadly, I don’t think it would make business sense for Cole’s on this one - esp. since it’s a discontinued iPad model.
BTW if anyone is interested - you can get a second data sim from Optus for $10 for 12 months - thats what I did :)
Sounds too good. Do you mean $10/month?
Also, if you are using a post-paid mobile plan, you are paying far too much already. Please return your membership card.
sorry yes $10 per month.
I get the $55 plan for $30 so I reckon I'm doing ok - and if you can find me a non post paid plan that is compatible with cellular Apple Watch plans I'm all ears
Yeah, I reluctantly decided I really didn't need a plan for my watch that much.
How do you get it for $30?
Anyone here using this iPad as a map/ ‘CarPlay’ navigator/ second screen?
Any good dash mounts recommend? (Ideally magnet based) or a hack of an existing (minimal) case to do the job?
I'd recommend you get a dedicated carplay/AA device. They cost under $100 incl mount and reversing camera.
One problem using a tablet is they tend to overheat in the summer. You don't want a li-ion device on your dash!
I do have a dedicated CarPlay - the iPad would be a second (portable) screen.
If you do, you should get the cellular version, as that has a GPS antenna. The wifi only iPad does not have GPS.
The charger they included with my iPad is not Apple compatible.
While rated at 2.1A , it only slow-charges the iPad. Half the speed of a standard charger.
Works OK with my Android phone though.
Brilliant, no stock even for people ordering basically immediately, followed by cancelled orders, and advertising that isn't in alignment to the ACCC guidelines for promotions where they needs to be sufficient stock for a promotion. Very frustrating.
I think they are not a phone shop and usually has only a few phones each to sell. I might be wrong.
That's awfully entitled of you?
Currently unavailable
I'm 1-day late …
Does anyone know if we can get a raincheck for this?
great honey there
