Got some for myself.
Happy bargain.
Used to be around $99
Hopefully someone will find it helpful.
Thanks

3 x 4.0Ah is still $99, which is probably better value for people who already have a couple of chargers.
If you sell the double charger from this deal for $13 (very reasonable), you're looking at the same price per battery.
But then you need to go through the hassle of selling the charger
I'd very happily pay $13 for a double charger!
Good to have an extra double charger for taking benefits of the free solar power or free energy hours. The retailers buy 2c/kWh from us and sell 30c/kWh to others.
@bcYield: If you charge a 4Ah tool battery instead of exporting that energy at 2¢ per unit, you will save 0.14¢!
@coxymla: By my calculations, it would be a lot closer to 2c - still a fair point that it's not worth the effort…
@coxymla: 14c per charge per battery. 10 other phone and laptop devices. Cooking and charging a car would make a big diff. Also air cons and pool. 10-15kWh saving on some unecessary usage per day on some days. Yes lots of time and effort until fully automation (unlikely). A wall battery would help but costly. It's currently just the spirit and spirit.
14c per charge per battery.
It's 2c, not 14c. If you buy this for $13 you will get your initial investment back after 650 charges. If you charge 2 batteries every 3 days on average, the charger will be out of warranty before it breaks even.
Phones and laptops are also negligible, but cooking and charging will of course make a difference.
Indeed, given that this isn't the "compact" 4.0 ah type that uses a different battery cell.
I've had few of these go bad (stopped charging, not holding charge) just outside the 3 years warranty.
How do you store your batteries?
How should I be storing them?
Between 30 and 50% charged.
@BartholemewH: This, and in a cool, dry place but not too cold (i.e. don't put it on the concrete garage floor etc) - no extreme temperatures
There are ways to jump-start fully dead batteries from a charged one. Check YouTube - worth a try.
If the YouTube video says to put it in the microwave, that's not the right YouTube video
Is it ok to microwave this ozito edition
If one of the two cells in parallel gone out then there's no point trying to revive them. It's a weak pair and it will happen again even if you get it going again. The best option is to build a pack from balanced cells with similar internal resistance.
I think this the lowest ever for this pack.
Twin pack compact 4Ah batteries are down to $79.

Was just about to say the same:)
this is def better value imo
I hope Bunnings can have a battery exchange activity
Hmm, what's the advantage with the compact batteries anyway?
Is it just the form factor that's it?
The compact batteries use 5 x 21700 cells as opposed to 10 x18650. Power output is 900W for both according to Einhell's website.
Weight is 592g compared to the std 4.0AH pack at 683g (according to my kitchen sales). The compact is 7mm wider, about 8-9mm longer and about 16mm lower in height. Pic of both for comparison, https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/309005/122846/batt_com…
Personally I prefer the smaller size. The weight difference is only 67g, so not a huge difference there.
Thanks for the indepth analysis, good to know!
Thanks. Did you find the cell info on the Einhell website, or did you do a teardown?
@BestTechAdvisor: I can't take credit for the teardowns. I think user here on OzB, Prong, did one on the compact 4.0ah. but I can't remember who did the others or where I saw it.
All I did was remember it and cobble it together in one post a while ago, and this is just a repost of that info.
Happy tool, happy man.
Is it worth buying these and getting an adapter to run with Dewalt tools?
Keen to know as I plan on doing this. Never owned any power tools. Need to start buying some. I plan on starting with Ozito and buy adapter to other brands if the tools I need from other brands go on sale.
I have one and it works just fine. Also have an Ozito to Makita tool and it works just fine as well.
Can you still charge those Ozito batteries with Makita chargers no problem?
No, do not do that. You have to use an Ozito charger on Ozito batteries. Otherwise you could risk a fire, or at best potentially ruin the battery.
Only if you have a mix of Ozito and DeWalt tools.
If you only have DeWalt tools, then no, it's not worth the cost of adding an adaptor to Ozito batteries, and it's definitely not worth the hassle of sharing an adaptor between multiple tools and batteries.
The only exception would be if you want to slowly migrate from one ecosystem to the next, then it will ease the transition a bit.
Edit: if you have the ability to 3D print then you can make your own adaptors cheaply. That would be worthwhile too.
Absolutely!
I have mostly Ozito batteries and with adaptors work really well with Ryobi and Makita tools.
So much cheaper than buying specialist batteries for each tool.
Charger and a 2.5Ah battery for $19 is good value too
Got one, OnePass free delivery, good value.
These are great for power supply/projects. I've put one in my kids toy electric quad. These have a low voltage disconnect built in, saves me damaging my Milwaukee batteries that do not have a low voltage disconnect.
Got one, thanks OP
Ops it's available to buy from today.
Mistakenly add tomorrow dates
