    When I search, it is
AU$71.46 + tax for 8Bitdo Switch 2 Controller Ultimate Bluetooth Gamepads PC with Charging Dock for Nintendo Switch 2 Switch Windows 10 11 Steam

    • +1

Ultimate 2 Wireless and Ultimate 2 Bluetooth are two different version.

      • +1

Yes I know. If someone is looking for a Switch compatible one. It is on̈ promotion too

        • +1

Just be mindful of no HD rumble.

          • @lasterato: A bit further down in this forum I ordered the Bluetooth version as I want to use it on my PC + Switch, it's listed a little more expensive. I managed to order it for $60.33AUD all up including ShopBack. Quite an amazing deal.

I have v1 of this and it's been my go-to for years. It has rumble, but maybe not "HD rumble", so perhaps there's some Switch games it'd not be ideal for?

        • The Wireless one is compatible with both Switch 1 & 2 as well despite not listing support, they added this compatibility in newer firmware (for both controller & dongle). You will need to use the controller in 2.4G mode though (which I'd prefer anyway) connecting the dongle the Switch and you also need to hold the Y button when you turn the controller on to put it into Switch input mode (it will stay in Switch mode if you put it on the dock)

On PC while connected in 2.4G you can also hold the B button while turning it on to put it into D-Input mode allowing it to be fully utilised by Steam Input natively recognising the 4 extra buttons & gyro.

Paid $41.95 for the purple Ultimate 2 on Amazon - during Prime Week. Had to return the first one that was sent as the left analog stick would press down but the press down wouldn't register a button press if that makes sense. The replacement works really well, although I kind of still prefer the first Ultimate Bluetooth controller (fits a bit better in my hands vs the Ultimate 2).

I like how the analog sticks can light up in various ways, although I prefer to have it really dim OR completely turned off as it can be too sharp/distracting when trying to play games.

You're lucky to have been eligible for this targeted offer (or similar?) and having $10 from a gift card :)

      • Correct, it was an additional discount for buying it using the amazon app. Incidentally I had to re-buy the controller at the full price a week and a half later…. then chat with support to get a refund on the extra amount I paid just to get the replacement over the original price.

    • What platform do you personally use this controller for?

      • So far I've only used the Ultimate 2 controller on pc.
The Ultimate Wireless Bluetooth controller (purchased in April 2023) I've used for both the Nintendo Switch and pc. I find that the controller is pretty much bang on with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - so I get the same level accuracy of controlling my character (it's basically why I'm so much better at Rocket League!).

I hoard controllers in case of emergency (massive lounge room gaming session with others + in case my usual controller breaks, I have a ready made replacement ready to go). I have two other Xbox controllers that I keep exclusively for use with pc gaming.

I currently have 5 other Xbox Series controllers (2x white from Telstra Plus, 1x black from a console purchase, 1x galaxy from the Galaxy console purchase, 1x gold controller that I got from JB Hifi in the past year).

I have 5 dual sense PS5 controllers 2x white (1 from the console purchase, 1 from Telstra Plus rewards, 1 purple controller that I purchased shortly after buying the console and 2x 30th Anniversary controllers - didn't intend on buying 2, but happy to have done. Funny thing is both 30th anniversary controllers are still boxed…. similar to my PS4 20th anniversary controller. Still boxed and so pretty to look at).

I actually ended up going back to my xbone controller … but I’m half tempted to get a purple one of these to sit next to the white one I already have… the shade of purple looks gorgeous.

    • +1

Yeah I agree. I'm tempted to buy another one. I have black from a previous sale and love it. The purple looks sweet

    • -1

So you just want to have two controllers for display and not for using?

    • +1

That purple is indeed gorgeous, just picked on up myself last week from another seller on Ali for $60~ (after I get my cashback anyway) to replace my broken Pro 2. I was planning on getting it back in July until they announced Pro 3 so waited to see how that was but obviously opted for this one due to its better polling rate, latency and its gorgeous shade of purple.

  • +2

So this one only works on PC and Android, not Switch and Switch 2 (unless you use the dongle)?. Their naming is confusing, they seem to have many controllers with the same or similar names

    I have enough 8bitdo controllers anyway :)

    • Looks like the latest firmware update makes it compatible with Switch 2

    • +1

I use these on the Switch 2. Just need to update the control and the dongle firmware.

      • Yeah, they don't a native Switch mode like the Ultimate Bluetooth one I have here from a couple of years ago. It has a 2.4 GHz dongle, but also has a Bluetooth mode that works on the Switch without needing the dongle

    • Yeah their naming is definitely confusing, to be fair though this wasn't originally intended to support the Switch but just something they thought to add later. Needing the dongle isn't an issue in my opinion since it has a far higher polling rate and lower latency than BT so ideally you want to be using that (wired is as good but that doesn't work on the Switch). Whenever you can you should always opt for 2.4G for wireless game controllers and especially audio devices over BT.

LOL! on the page it shows "Save AU$729.36 from AU$801.69"

  • Anyone recommend a good mobile controller? Haad to return the gamesir x5lite due to problems

  • It is little small for big hands but really awesome controller.

  • Cant wait for the switch version to get discounted although ive been leaning on Gamesir as they seem to get great reviews too

  • Does this work for series xbox, Playstation switch, ios, Android ? PC? everything ?

  • +2

What are TMR joysticks? I felt like it was only recently that it was the thing to go for the hall effect ones - are TMR next big thing?

  • +2
    • Or is this the Bluetooth version…

Aliexpress… not the easiest to navigate or trust :/

      • +1

not the easiest to navigate or trust

Just do what I do and listen to Clear

        • Well I'm not sure what you mean by that but I did end up ordering this one, I'm hoping it's their latest 8BitDo Ultimate 2 "Bluetooth" model as I want to use it with my PC + Switch:

          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009252272806.html

I used my Wise travel card and the actual deduction was $70.36 ($45.50USD) and ShopBack is now tracking $10.03.

So $60.33AUD all up - which I think is an amazing deal?

  • Anybody else getting a security error when trying to redeem or collect coupons?

  • For around the same money I would suggest looking into the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro.

  • Bit awkward for larger hands or wider shoulders apparently. I ended up going with the Gamesir Cyclone 2.

  • A DualShock 4 and DualSense will pair to almost anything or work wired. I have more than enough controllers to go around.

    • They are more expensive, don't use hall effect or TMR sticks and don't have any extra remappable buttons which are extremely useful.
