How are these deals? We don't have to do anything to get them. More of a PSA, should be in the forums no?

    • -1

Yes agree this is a PSA. No action required. This isn't a deal.

    • Totally agree, I reported the Status Credit deal and was told "No such rule/guideline".

  • +17

Wow! Would be worth more if the points were devalued and there was actually Classic Reward flights available and all our data didn't get stolen

  • will the 40 bonus points be eligible for points club plus 100 point rollover into following year?

    • if you need these 40 points to roll over i would assume you have next to no status. so even achieving silver is not going to benefit you much at all?

  • So… this must be in response to the data breach.

    • +8

It's in response to the $2.4b profit announced this morning.

      • Yes, spend more money with us.

      • I read $1.6b.

        Eitherway, they’re doing well.

        • Yes, $1.6Bn - up 28%. They're squeezing every last cent possilble out of consumers. My cost to fly to see my parents has more than doubled since the pandemic hit.

        • +3

Underlying Profit Before Tax was $2.4b

          Underlying EBIT was $2.6b

          $1.6b was profit after tax.

      • thats what happens when you now offshore to thailand what used to be inhouse as well as have so much clout to stop competition from other airlines like Qatar increasing their flights . To claim hardship during covid and then screw over the local population with inflated pricing.

    • Nah no compensation for that incoming and won't even allow you to rollover onto a new QFF number etc.

Making billions, but giving us peanuts!

  • 2,500………… basically nothing

  • $25/$50. Not bad for doing nothing.

I'd get more if Bankwest wasn't so slow in paying out its offer. Absolute trash credit card churning offer.

  • +1

Bit annoying get get status credits at the end of my membership year, no need for them

  • +3

How is this a deal? It's either provided automatically (no registration or action required), or it's unobtainable.

  • +1

Also agreement this isn't a deal automatically - (no registration or action required), or it's unobtainable - just marketing

  • +1

Dreadful that this doesn't count towards lifetime status… and now the double status points promotions don't either.

    • Where did you hear about DSc not counting?

      • By reading the T&C

      • From the T&Cs:-

Double Qantas Points and double Status Credits will be credited within eight weeks after travel. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Lifetime Status, Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements.

Also someone on AFF received this response from customer service:-

Our Lifetime Status program is designed to recognise our most frequent flyers. To maintain the exclusivity and value of Lifetime Status, and to ensure it accurately reflects a member’s sustained loyalty through flights flown, bonus Status Credits including those from promotions such as the current Double Status Credits offer and loyalty gifts will no longer count towards the Lifetime Status Credit balance.

This change has been made to ensure that Lifetime Status continues to reflect a member’s core flying history and supports the long-term sustainability of the program.

        • Well this is new haha. I was hoping to ditch Qantas after getting to lfg. Guess I will need to be platinum for very long time now to get there. This sucks

  • This is a bad joke. Frankly insulting from Qantas. They subject us to the "offshore call centre experience" of suboptimal service, charge like wounded bulls, pretend to offer an alternative with the reliably unreliable JetStar, and arbitrarily decide that DSC credits no longer count towards LTG-another example of them continuously changing the goalposts in their favour and throwing token inedible breadcrumbs in our vague direction. Gouge on guys!
