This is for OzBargainers aged 60 or above.
At age 60, almost all permanent residents of Queensland are eligible for the Seniors Business Discount Card.
From age 65, you may become eligible for a Seniors Card, which gives more benefits (such as free dental services, free basic spectacles, and lots of food discounts!).
Full eligibility requirements for both types of card are HERE. If you're not eligible yourself, perhaps you have an older family member who doesn't know about these benefits.
There's also "Seniors Card+Go", but now that we can tap on with a debit card or credit card or with our mobile phones, do we need Go Card anymore?
The Benefits:
Both cards get you free access to the Senior Shopper service, which includes a huge range of discounted e-gift cards, e.g. Coles and Woolworths 4% off, Ebay 3% off, Amazon 2.5% off. Full list and the current e-gift card percentages HERE (3 pages of cards!).
Both cards get you access to Jb Hi-fi Business and TGG Commercial, also via Senior Shopper.
For Seniors Card members, a lot of take-away food outlets will give you a bonus. For example:
- McDonalds: Free Small Hot McCafé® beverage, small soft drink or orange juice with a minimum spend of $5. See in store for further details.
- Hungry Jacks: Free tea, coffee, or small softdrink with burger or breakfast muffin.
- Lots of smaller stores and cafes will give you a discount or something extra. Search your local area on this map.
Seniors Card also gets discounts at many retailers and businesses. For example:
- Angus and Coote 10% discount on full priced jewellery and watches.
- Various discounts at car care, car servicing and tyre stores
- Various discounts at medical services e.g. hearing aids, dentures, psychology and more
- Various discounts at movie cinemas, live theater, and other shows
- Various discounts at legal services
- Typically 10% off when booking hotels
- Various discounts on car rental
- At Freedom Fuel, be eligible for a card that gives 6c/litre (U91, E10, diesel) to 8c/litre (U95, U98) discount on fuel

The benefits on that Queensland card puts WA's card to shame.
