They can start doing background checks on those people, before they enter.

      • When they're getting drunk and vaping on the flight you don't need to dig too deep.

  • A great explanation of Indonesia from a local:

    Nothing Makes Sense Here

  • Meh, Malaysia has had had this for ages and Thailand got it recently. Never been to Indonesia however.

    • I've been to Malaysia, quite a few times, in the last decade, and I never needed to fill out any online applications/declarations before arriving there.

My most recent visit there was in 2024 August.

They do have a digital arrival card but they never enforce it. They have public computers before immigration at KL airport to fill it out. My girlfriend lives in Malaysia, she's never completed the digital declaration and she's never had issues. Thailand on the other hand… is quite strict with it.

        • I passed through Thai BKK airport, twice earlier this year, and also I never had to fill out any declaration.

On one visit, they asked me "what is your visit purpose?"
          I replied "to eat".

So, I would go out for a several hours, to eat good food, and return back to the airport, haha

@whyisave: Thailand was very recent- They introduced it 1st of May this year, in fact I arrived on the first day it started. On my flight from KL to BKK the AirAsia Staff wouldn't let us board without showing our completed TDAC form. When I when through immigration in Thailand I asked if they needed to see it but they said they could already see it on their computer.
