Private Internet Access (VPN) 100% Cashback on 6-Month & 2-Year Plans for New Private Internet Access Customers @ TopCashback AU

300

My Tips:

  • Best value is the Basic plan for 2 years (+ 2 months free) A$75.14 (estimate).
  • Cashback is for the VPN service only (no add-ons).
  • Use a new email address for Private Internet Access if you have bought before.
  • If your order does not track, please cancel and request for a refund from Private Internet Access within 30 days under their 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal after you have received cashback.

It is recommended to use the TopCashback app, click the 'Get 100% Cashback' pink button to the Private Internet Access website, mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible only on 6-month and 2-year plans. Cashback is ineligible on all other plans & products, including any upsold items.
  • Cashback is only eligible for New Private Internet Access Customers. Renewals are ineligible for cashback.
  • Private Internet Access is excluded from all signup and referral bonus thresholds. Reference the Tell-a-Friend terms for more information.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Private Internet Access orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the 'get cashback' button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

    On 26/06/2025, I bought with TCB's 100% cashback offer:

    • Tracked in about 1 hour & 15 minutes.
    • Bought the 2-year plan for $75.14.
Made no difference to price when I chose a GST-free location (Christmas Island).
    • Cashback $70.64 (excludes fees).
    • Net cost $4.50.

After the last post about this I got it now I’m still on “pending” hoping to receive my money soon

      • Last offer was in July.

You can see the estimated payable (12 weeks) when you click "+" on the transaction. Could be paid this month or early next month.

Thanks OP, just signed up via the TCB app on iOS, lets hope it tracks!

Update: Tracked in just under an hour.

        Great. Thanks for the update.

  • How do these guys rate?

It's owned by an Israeli company (Kape Technologies) known for distributing malware & currently operating / headquartered in the US, so make of that what you will in terms of things like the NSA & FISA.

      • Ouch. Thanks

        • "Private" seems to be a total non-sequitur. I'd be looking at Proton VPN (not in 5/14 eyes jurisdiction but not usually discounted). There's a very good reason you can get 2 years of VPN access for free through PIA/Express/Cyberghost etc etc (all owned by Kape)…

          • @Captain Yobbo: Do you have any actual evidence where this company has logged or handed over data about their customers? I'm not sure of the non-sequitur private you are referring to.

            https://www.privacyjournal.net/kape-technologies/

            • @illogicalerror: I think you are missing the point, being in a 5 eyes jurisdiction (especially the US) means the company doesn't even have to be complicit in handing over logs or customer info. Hence, calling it "private" doesn't really make sense, for the reasons outlined.

That's not to say it's a completely useless product - I've used PIA before - but when I did some research it was a little bit of a wakeup call about who owns what in the VPN space, and I was really surprised to see where they were based. I don't think anyone who is really strict or concerned about their privacy wouldn't use a VPN based out of a 5/14 eyes country.

@Captain Yobbo: They don't have anything to hand over though mate, they could be in the same building as the NSA and it wouldn't matter. You seemed to be making out like they could be complicit in something when it's not technically feasible and historically hasn't happened. Just seem like capitalists to me, collect VPN's, soak up market with giveaways, make bank.. that's the very good reason you can get it free/cheap. Usual capitalist stuff. As far as being in 5 eyes countries, if you're engaging in the type of activity that would get the Australian government to ask the US government to subpoena local companies for information they don't have, getting technical advice from internet chat is going to be a fail… irrelevant to us.

Anyhow, never mind the noise mate. Cheers

                • @illogicalerror:

not technically feasible and historically hasn't happened

LMAO ok no worries, I'll let you believe that.

                    • +1

@illogicalerror: If you want to use PIA, fine, go ahead, I would grab this deal too if I didn't already have a VPN (similarly exposed) but to dismiss concerns about its vulnerabilities is supremely arrogant & ignorant. FISA Court orders & National Security Letters are not "paranoid conspiracy", they are a reality that compels providers like PIA to secretly record & disclose customer behaviour, contradicting marketing claims about privacy.

That's no worries for most people who have nothing to hide but if you're a journalist or activist maybe it is. Hence, the claim of "private" doesn't carry as much water when put in proper context, and anyone really concerned about their security or privacy should avoid companies (including PIA) who expose their customers to the invasive processes of the US government, or its 5Eyes partners whose governments have similarly insidious legal instruments that facilitate digital surveillance.

                      • @Captain Yobbo: The paranoid conspiracy I was referring to was the idea that this company is logging all it's data secretly and basically a NSA sinkhole. They release reports about how many requests they've had, which they complied with, etc, etc.

We have established we're not state interests though and don't require the kind of guarantees of privacy going forward that we could get from using a VPN from a neutral state who won't honour logging requests. It's not really a concern.

For our use, doing whatever we want on the internet in whatever region we want whilst not already being a concern to federal police or national security, the service is private.

Seems we know about this topic as much as the other anyway, just have a different take on the concern level for OzB discussion.

                        • @illogicalerror: I hope you realise the majority of requests made under judicial or executive authority are not able to be lawfully disclosed. It's all private until it's not, and Edward Snowden proved that even if you don't have reason to be concerned by government surveillance you may still be subject to it. To some people that matters, and that's all I wanted people to be aware of when I originally replied a few comments back about the ownership of the company. Anyway, stay safe (and private 😎) out there!

They're fine for normal use. If you're a leet hacker, set up your own vpn

  • Does the plan activate immediately, or can you chose when to activate it?

    • +1

It seems to activate at the time of purchase. I don't see an option to choose a future date.

      • +1

        Thank you for confirming.

  • It's not 100% cashback. My card was charged $75.14 but Topcashback has tracked at $69.89.

    • It's 100% cashback minus any fees/taxes. It's in the terms and the same for all VPN transactions at the cashback sites.

Private Internet Access orders report to your account excluding GST and other taxes, and may show a further difference in purchase amount due to international conversion rates. This is beyond our control.
